Ok I was looking through our old site this looks more better. More bright and many other features like private messages and so forth.
Lexia - Congrats on the boy!! I'm so anxious for my u/s. I can't wait!! But hopefully this weekend passes real fast.
Nchill - Sorry for what you had to go through today.
Mimi - I'm going to ask my midwife if the office does it there. But I'm still thinking about that too. If the office doesn't do the 3d I would have to go somewhere else where they specialize in that and they give you a video and some pictures so I'm thinking they spend hours doing it. But we'll see.
Yeah I started wearing maternity pants for a while now. Because before I got pg I was wearing nice and tight jeans but that is a no no now. LOL I'm still wearing my old shirts though. I think another two weeks I have to start wearing maternity shirts also. It was so funny at work today while I was working I felt the baby moving and kicking. I'm like making an omelet then I feel the baby shifting its body. I'm glad we decided to stick together on another site. Ok ladies I'll check in later I gotta go floss and brush for a dentist appt. :)

tigerlove- I know what you mean, I do the same thing!! I am in the middle of my 20th week. But i cheat and always read ahead. Are you feeling a lot of movement and kicks by now and is your dh feeling them yet? I am feeling kicks and movement but dh hasn't felt them yet.
You have to add your signature. Click on quick links and then edit signature. I like looking at everyone's info.
I hope other June mommies join us.

Thanks everyone for your concern!! As the shock is wearing off I am feeling more positive.
lml: I was told high risk after 34 - but once you hit 30 your percentages adjust. We had to do a whole family history work up. Because we have no family genetic problems that just helps our odds.
mimi: I spent the afternoon laying down, just taking it easy. The cramping has pretty much stopped, so that is good. The babies keep moving around and I've checked their heartbeats just to make sure they are not showing any signs of distress - Tuesday in the dr's office they were 155, tonight A is 155 & B is 153. Good heartrates. I will definately call in a few days - I googled the heart spot and found several places that said that isn't a solid marker and if you only have 1 marker you most likely will have no problems.
Anne: I have no restrictions except for taking it easy. My flight takes off at hour #76 so I'll just barely make it past your dr's quote. On the calcium deposit it should not affect her in any way. Just one of those things - sometimes it goes away and sometimes it doesn't.
I know I have missed several others on comments, but I'll have to catch up another night!!
Glad we stuck together!

What a night. I've been up for hours and can't seem to find all that positive thinking I had yesterday afternoon. It is going to be a long 2 weeks.
Babies are still moving so that is good. I haven't had any cramping since yesterday evening and I am not even that sore.
I'll be checking in - I hope to see everybody moving over!!

Nchill- I didn't sleep for over a week when I got the news of my afp blood tests indicating possible spina bifida. I tried to stay positive but it is hard when it's your child. Deep down I knew he was fine, but there was that small doubt that kept me awake at night and glued to the computer looking for answers. Mostly what I found was a lot of women going through all this genetic testing and being told there was something wrong when 99% of the time their babies were fine. It took away my joy of being pregnant to the point that i cried everytime I felt my baby kick. It was horrible and I hated feeling that way towards my baby. I am sure all these genetic tests do help a minority of people find out whethter their baby has an abnormalitybb, but for the majority of us, it's just breings on uneccessary worry and stress. Not good for pregnant women. My dh and family kept worrying more about my well being and how my stress would effect the baby. And let me tell you, those 2 weeks of stress, the baby was flopping around like crazy!!! Once I stopped stressing he didn't move as much. I think they can sense the stress we go through. I can honestly say that I will forgo all the tests next time and since I will be over 35 when I have my next one, I will just go straight to the amnio. I am so positive your baby is fine, esp after what I went through and hearing many women tell me their genetic testing stories!!! Many dr's scare us with this info, when they know that most of the time the babies are fine. That's what makes me so upset. It wasn't until the amnio that I had to ask my dr if he thought the baby was fine. He then told me he was 95% sure the baby was fine. WHy didn't he say that to me when he read me the awful AFP results? It drives me nuts. And I did tell him so. He of course, denied it and said he told me from the beginning that he though the baby was fine.
Now I am rambling. This is a sore subject for me, b/c I know how devastating it was to go through and I worried for nothing! I know you will still worry, b/c that what moms do, but just remember there is 95% chance your baby is fine. Those are pretty good odds. At least that's what my dr told me before the amnio. I guess 95% of babies that are born are just fine. That made me feel better.
I hope more people come too!!!

Mimi: Thanks again for your words. I am embarrassed to admit how many hours I have spent reading everything I can find. Overall with no other markers things should be fine. I know how you felt about the baby - I couldn't look at her u/s pictures and then I felt even worse for being like that. After another 2 hours on the net I found even more articles where this spot on her heart is not a major indicator and there are hundreds of posts where they went through the same thing and everything was fine.
I am really glad we did the amnio - at least we'll have some answers fairly soon.

This site seems pretty simple.. I'm still trying to catch up on everything from yesterday on the other thread..
Natalie - I'm praying for you and your babies!! I'm sure everything will be just fine.. sounds like you are in excellent care.. that's all you can do - good luck on your trip and keep positive! HUGS to you!!
Mimi - how are you feeling these days? hope those antibiotics are kicking in!
I just got a UPS package from Babies R-Us!! It's my crib bedding! I'm so excited to bring it home and go out to shop for a nice paint color for the room. I think I found a semi-affordable upholstered rocker for the nursery - JCPenney's has one in their baby catalog for $399 on mocha latte (microsuede) - which I think will match nice and be easy to clean.. only problem, it doesn't have an ottoman... oh-well..
I can't stretch it any longer.. I HAVE to go get my hair colored and cut tonight.. I can't stand it any longer.. figure I'll get it done again in early May so I feel pretty for the birth of my baby boy! - yeah, right.. like that's going to help! LOL as long as I have alittle makeup with me, I'll be ok.. Hey, I found a cute site.. verybestbaby.com they have a few really cute tools (screensavers, lists for hospital etc.. and e-announcments) check it out
OK - better run.. SO GLAD we found a place we could go to.. Thanks Mimi for starting the June thread.. I would be lost without you girls!
Have a great day!
Hugs to all...

Physically I feel really good. I am pretty surprised - but that was a good one:).
I've got to run to Target & the dry cleaners and then it's back home for the day.

Wow, everyone's up and running here today! I'm in between meetings, so I had to get my fix before my next one!!
nchill--I echo what mimicam said. I had a 1:18 chance of Down's following the 1st trimester NT and bloodwork, and had the CVS at 13 weeks. It took a little over a week to get the results, and it was sheer torture. I tried to work, tried not to think about it, but it's impossible. My results were perfect, and I skipped the AFP because my research showed that the bloodwork is highly unreliable, esp. for the AFP testing. Hang in there, and keep repeating to yourself that the odds are WAY in your favor.
mimicam--I am so superstitious having had 2 m/c to read ahead of my weekly schedule!! I know, probably silly, but it's my thing. I do feel the baby kicking at least daily, but it's not a consistent thing yet, but I have a good amount of extra padding! We had the 20 week u/s last week and the baby was moving like crazy and I didn't feel it, which reassured me not to panic when I don't.
I have my monthly OB appointment a week from today, and it will be great to hear that doppler! I have the crappy Bebe monitor, and we can barely hear anything but maybe kicking, if that. I just ordered the fetal stethoscope somebody else posted about recently, and hopefully that will be here soon. I think it will give me more peace of mind.
Does anybody know at what point you're supposed to start counting kicks?
Have a great day everyone...tigerlove

Sandy and Ami- welcome. You are going to love June mommies. We are all very supportive here, so ask any questions you like. I bet at least one of of us will have an answer. Ami- a girl- finally. I think there is a majority of boys for June Mommies.
Nchill- I hope you are keeping positive. Enjoy your trip but take it easy.
Tigerlove- I haven't picked up the book in 2 weeks. I think I am caught up now. I am not going to read ahead anymore. It takes the fun out of it. I felt the same way about my baby's movement. I get worried when there are days that he moves less, but once I saw him on the sono moving around but I didn't feel him, i felt better. I think we are supposed to count kicks after 26 weeks? i think.
Dana- I am feeling a little better. I doubt it's the z-pack. I have a feeling this will linger for a while. I think it's safe to get your hair dyed. I am going to wait to do highlights til after baby is born. I did get a vegetable dye which had no pneumonia and was odorless in my first trimester. I had to cvoer my roots. My hair is like a chocolate brown now. I will just add highlights in the summer. I am dying to get the nursery set up b/c I've had my bedding for a while now. But these next few weeks are crazy busy.
I got such nice compliments from my clients today. They say from the front they can't tell I am pg but from the side they can. I am wearing trendy fitted clothes! I am PG and proud of it. I am showing off my little belly. They kept telling me I looked great and that i didn't gain any weight elsewhere. I am so happy to hear that! I felt great all day.
Where is LML? I have to go on to fertilitext and drag her a** on over here.
Mandi too!
I think I am going to try to go to the gym today. Can't let this cold keep me down any longer! I think dh and I will go out to a nice dinner tonight. I feel like celebrating for some strange reason. Maybe it's b/c I am feeling better today (my cold). Enjoy your weekend ladies. I am glad the group is all intact!:D :) :b:cool:
dana.hope4baby
01/27/2006, 04:25 PM
Mimi - I just looked to see if lml posted over on Fertilitext today and I don't see her, so I'm sure she'll catch up with us over here soon..
Man, the baby is sitting (and kicking) right on my bladder right now.. ugh.. I love feeling him move, but this is a rough one.. better head to the potty!
Cool that you are getting compliments.. people say the same about me - I'm all out in the front, but I feel like I've gained in my butt.. (don't need any help there.. that's my "trouble" area!) Anyways.. it's fun to show the belly - I agree, we should be proud and flaunt it!!
Hope to catch up more on Monday.. off to my appt.. Have a good weekend everyone.. I might be able to check in over the weekend, but it's just so hard sometimes.. so busy, busy... (funny, that means I'm writing during "work" hours.. oops.. oh-well, I still get my work done)
Take care!

Hi ladies, looks like I missed out on a lot today.
First off let me welcome Sandy and Ami.
I'm looking at my arms and I think I'm getting spider veins. Well since I stand all day I started wearing support hose which my doctor recommended. Hopefully it will prevent my feet from getting swollen. This morning I was driving to work and the baby was probably doing its morning exercise or something. LOL Last night DD decided she wanted to sleep with us so we (the three of us) was squeezed on a queen size bed. So you can imagine how I woke up and sleepless I was. Or should I stay the four of us. LOL Tonight hopefully she won't sleep with us because I need my space. Another thing was the baby was up also doing god knows what. I don't think s/he slept at all last night or this morning. Right now s/he is still at it.
Ok ladies I just wanted to see what todays topic was and look around. But I need a nap now. So I'll talk to you ladies later.

01/27/2006, 08:56 PM
Nchill- i think you are right! I love our group! Are you feeling better? Are you still sore?
Dana- I don't think I've gained in my butt, but it isn't as firm b/c I slacked off on working out. I just don't have the energy. Although, I did go today and walked on the treadmill.
Dollyface- how cute that your dd slept with you. You need a bigger bed esp. since another is on the way. My baby was so active since last night. He goes in spurts. He'll be mellow for a couple of days and then he's active for a few. He just kicks in the same spot and it somtimes starts to hurt a little. It still makes me jump. I should be used to it by now.
I still get a racing pounding heart at least once a day. Usually after I eat. I wonder why. It's very annoying and still scary. I was checked out by a cardiologist and my gyno who say I am fine and it's normal for pregnancy. But, I am always worried about the baby when that happens. It sometimes takes me a while to slow it down. I hate when I have a bad dream and wake up with my heart pounding out of my chest. Then I get up and come on these boards. That makes my heart rate slow down. Does this happen to anyone else. Or am I the lucky one here?
Baby is kicking a lot but still not hard enough for dh to feel. I know it will come in time, but I am so impatient. I want him to feel what I feel. It is such a bonding experience when he kicks that I want dh to share in it.
It is Friday at 9:00pm and I am ready for bed. Poor dh, I am such a bore. Our sex life has been on hold. I have been so sick that I can barely breathe. The last thing I want to do is heavy panting. NOt fun when you can hardley breathe. I know he misses it, but I just feel crappy with this stupid cold. Oh well, dh is calling me to come relax. Check in tomorrow.
Dollyface
01/27/2006, 09:02 PM
Mimi - I get those like that too with my heart racing. I think it was last night or the night before when I had a bad dream and I had to wake up real fast. Then I found myself sleeping on my left side but almost on my stomach but not all the way. Oh yeah I'm getting kicked a lot in the rib area on my right side. Ok Mimi hope to see you around on the weekend. I got a wedding to go to tomorrow.
Just a few more days until my u/s I can't wait. I think either way I will end up crying no matter the sex. I'm so excited and anxious at the same time. I think I probably won't be able to sleep on Monday night. It seems like I have been talking about this for years now!! LOL Ok I should go lay down now.

do you feel him/her around your rib area. Well according
to the books the baby is still around the belly button area,
yesterday when i had by ultrasound the tech was all over
my rib area measuring my girls head. I worry cause I
hardly every feel her move. According to the tech. and the
dr. everything is good

For my my uterus is above my bellybutton now. So when I sit down I get kicked a lot on my right side rib. Right now its 1018 here and the baby is still up and moving. But my DD is already asleep. LOL. What book are you reading? I like to read your pregnancy week by week. Its very helpful. Easier to read the what to expect when your expecting more info. So far from what I hear boys move more. My SIL just had a boy and she told me he moved a lot and early too.
I don't have yeast infection. Well not that I know of anyway. But somedays I have lots of discharge then somedays its normal. So I don't think I have it.

I think I read it in what to expect when youre expecting
I do feel a little thumping around the rib area. I do think
boys move alot faster. When I was preg. with my son
I felt him at 16 wks. Of course it doesnt help to have
the extra pre-pregnancy lbs.
Dollyface I really think you will have a precious little
wiggling boy!!!
I would love to here more about nursery themes
Im so excited, babiesrus is literally around the corner

Was your boy your first? I'm hoping that I am right that it is a boy. If not then this little girl is really out of control. LOL Where are you from? Babies r Us is like a 20min drive for me. Have you started your registry yet? I haven't yet. Planning too in a week or two. I think I fall in the category of extra pre pregnancy weight. I have a layer of fat on my stomach had a hard time losing it. LOL After this one I will try to lose all of it. I got thirsty and decided to drink chocolate milk. I don't think it helped at all to try to settle the little one. LOL

Yes my boy was my first he is 11yrs old and yes he moved

changes when they are born! Boys are adorable they cling
to mommy from the beggining.( Im sure girls are too, but
i have heard they tend to be more independedt would love

babiesrus is to close to my house its driving me crazy.

My dd is most of the time independent now she will be 4 in July. If I had a babies r us near me I would have been going crazy and regsitered already. OK then I'm kinda tired too. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Bye.

What a busy night!
Mimi: I am feeling better although Baby B has been a bit quieter than normal. I keep checking their heartrates - I am even getting up in the night to check them again. That doppler sure is giving me my money's worth! On the sex life...wow. What sex life? My poor dh has had quite a difficult time adjusting but I just have NO desire. I told him I promise to make it up once these babies come and things settle down. He jokes that through his trek across the desert coming to an oasis from time to time keeps him going. I chuckle when he says that.
Dolly: I am excited to hear what you are having. The 31st is around the corner!! Thanks for giving us that 5 star rating:).
Ami & Alexa: Welcome to our group! We really are a great group and it has been a "safe" place to come to and talk about anything.
I am not as sore from the amnio today. In fact I feel pretty much back to normal and almost normal emotionally. Yesterday dh had me take the odds and turn them into percentages just to give me a new perspective. I wish this is how it had been given to me because I know I wouldn't have freaked out to the level I did. Normally, based on my age of 32 & having twins, we have a 1:538 odds of a downs baby. Because of the calcium deposit on her heart, that baby has a 1:401 odds. If I put that into percentages that means I went from a 99.8% chance of everything being okay to a 99.75% chance of everything being okay. He asked me if we were back at the beginning of the IVF and I was told you have a 99% chance of having a completely normal baby, would you still go though the IVF - the answer was a no brainer for me, of course!!! So that perspective has really helped and I am not nearly as worried as I was. When I begin to doubt I just go through those percentages again and it is very reassuring.
I am starting to pack and eventually will have to pack up my laptop. I'll be checking in as much as I can.

Alexa- welcome, I still feel my baby kicking on either side of my belly button. According to the last sono 20 wk, the baby was still from left to right near my belly button. By every now and then I feel thumps by my ribs. But I guess the baby is getting big that his arms and legs can reach up there by the ribs.
I just wanted to check in, nothing new to report. I think I may wait til April to start the nursery. My dad is going to help us with putting up the chair rail and putting organizers in ths closet. So there not much we can do til that is done. We are going to order the furniture next weekend, so I shouls have it by middle of April. So I guess by beginning of May the nursery will be done. I hate that all the baby's stuff is just thrown in that room and it is not set up. But, there is really no rush. Just as long as it's done a month before, I am ok with that. Gotta go shower. Check in later:p

Hi ladies!
Mimi-I too get those heart rushes...so badly I can hear it in my ear. It scares me a bit too, but generally it goes away if I stay calm and still for a short time. Does it only happen to you after you've exerted yourself or at other times too?
Ami-I LOVE the name Mia. It's beautiful. I would totally have that on my list of girls names except one of my best friends from college has a daughter named Mia, so I think it's out for me! It's so simple and lovely.
We don't know the gender of our baby, but we have a definite boy's name and are still struggling with a girl's name. My DH thinks we're having a girl. If it's a boy, we're going with William Franklin...William was my dad who passed away a little over 3 years ago (I miss him and he was amazing so I really feel strongly about that) and Franklin is my FIL's middle name, which I also like. The dispute is I like the nickname Will and DH likes Bill.
Girl's names are harder, but I'm set on Louise for a middle name (my mom's middle name after her grandmother). So far, here are my top choices...opinions more than welcome:
Allison (nickname Ali)
Joanna (nickname Jo)
Evelyn (nickname Evie, with a soft "e" like "egg")
Chiara
and my new favorite, Emilia (the Italian form of Emily, but pronounced like Amelia...nickname would be Emmie).
Thoughts girls? best, tigerlove

Natalie - I'm glad to hear your feeling better now. But I just think they are scaring you for no reason.
Mimi - I got your message and I wrote back. You know when you think about it, it seems like a long way until June. But when you say it in weeks it seems shorter. So I like to say it in weeks. Like for instance I have I think 9 or 8 more weeks until I stop working. Then after that I have 8 or 9 weeks to wait for baby to come. LOL
Tiger - So what sex are you hoping for or it doesn't matter? Maybe it will be a girl for you because you already have a boys name picked out and for me it will be a boy because I already have a girls name picked. LOL I'm just messing around I really don't know. I'm just hoping. I like the name Allison. I like Emelia also.
Ok ladies I'll check in later. Oh this is cool too because when you want to reply to someone all you have to do is scroll down and see the message even though our thread is big. :D

hi girls,
dollyface I got your message, do you live in the LA area?
mimi thank you for welcoming me, Im probably going to
wait until april to start the nursery. I fell in love with
the olivia bedding with the drapes/valences and the lamp from babriesrus but I'm not sure I'm willing to pay so much money, I guess I still have time to think about it who knows maybe it will go on special yeah! right.
Natalie Im praying for you and your babies I too believe
that everything will turn out good.
Tiger: till just a couple of days ago I thought for sure I was
having a boy (even though the preg. is significantly different than DS) but no I'm having a girl. Maybe you
are to! I love the name Emelia it sounds very classy/elegant.

tigerlove- I get the palpitations upon exertion usually. Even the slightest movement. But sometimes I get it right after I eat. It takes a while and sometimes never calms down. I hate sleeping at night b/c it keeps me awake. I like Emilia too. I am italian so I think it is beautiful. What are you hoping for boy or girl?
Dollyface- I just told dh that we only have about 4 months and he said "wow" time is flying. For him maybe, but not for those who are carrying these little babies.
Ami- I have to go check your bedding out. I already have mine. Mine is potterybarn kids and lucky for me it went on sale 50% off. SO i bought it all!
It was still expensive, but I was going to buy it regardless.
dh and I had 2 boys names picked out for the longest time. Now we are disagreeing. I like Ryan better and he likes Ben better. Ben is his middle name and his deceased grandfather that died when he was real young. I just can't see myself calling my little baby Ben. It seems like more of an adult name. Ryan however, sounds appropriate throughout his life. There are so many nice boys names, but none that I lOVE except I always loved Ryan since I was little. So now we have to buy a baby book of names and start over.
I was so tired today. After we ran errands, I crashed in bed for 2 hours. I have been tired again lately. This whole pregnancy I have been tired. I guess it led up a little in my 2nd trimester, but not by much. When are the stretch marks supposed to show? I have been using a cream now, but read that they are inevitable. My little one's kicks are getting more frequent and stronger but still not hard enough for dh to feel. Oh well I will check in later
Nchill- hope your doing ok. Thinking about you. I have such a good feeling that your babies are perfect!
Good Evening Everyone...
Today has seemed to fly by pretty uneventful here for me...besides the fact that I litterally was out to the world for a two hour nap..I didn't even hear the phone ring right next to my head..I am 22wks TODAY!!! YEAH
Quick question..all the books and my doc keep saying it's normal..but really low in my pelvic area I seem to have tons of pressure and discomfort--sometimes I even describe it as Pain..Anyone else?? Mia seems to like staying really low--most if not all her little punches and kicks are still very low .. No matter how normal they say it is...it still makes me worry--I still find myself checking every time I pee to make sure there's not spotting or anything..I almost feel paniced or worried alot of the time over it...
Mimicam---Baby bedding..I thought that challange was going to be an easy one and it was anything but..Then again I think everyone had me so convinced that I was having a boy that litterally that's all I started planning for--so when a little girl nursery came up I wasn't ready for that..My bedding is the vintage teaberry...I love it..it's just so girlie and pretty...Which pottery barn set did you go with?? I love that place--and could go broke there too..Mia's little nursery is already more then her crib, changing table and upholstered rocker together--and I'm just talking bedding..How can they get away with charging the prices they do??hahaha
Well Ladies..I hope your all having a wonderful Sat..It's only 9pm and I am so ready for bed..haha Chat with you all tomorrow..Ami

Alexa - yes I do live in the L.A. area. We are not so far from eachother. I was wondering if you were carrying high or low?
Today my little person was so busy. Especially when we got to the wedding reception and I was hungry and so was the little one. Moving around like crazy then after I got some food down s/he took a little nap I guess because after that it got quiet. Then I spoke too soon and it woke up. Until now its still up and its al ready 1139.
Mimi - I know what you mean about the time. Like when we say it, it sounds very short. But we are the ones carrying it and facing all the different things that come with pregnancy everyday so everyday couldn't go any faster. I don't know why but maybe just the thought that this will be my last pregnancy I'm just enjoying every last thing. But I can't wait until the day I get to hold my little person. Oh wait one more day before that. LOL Finding out the sex! Hey Mimi does it look like your carrying high or low? Just want to compare notes.
Ami - Your lucky you get to nap. Even though I get little power naps here and there it seems like its never enough. I have the weekends off, you would think I can get a nap in. But so far every weekend has been very busy for me. Hopefully tomorrow I can get a noninterupted hour or two nap. LOL
Looks like I'm the last one to write tonight. Everyone is already sleeping. I better get to bed, my eyes are tired.

Ami- i get so many pains down by my pelvic area- i just ignore them now. I assume it's my body changing to accomodate the baby. I got the Chamois lambie bedding. If you look it up you may have to check under "sale". I tried to find your bedding but couldn't on babies r us. WOnder why? Why are you worried about kicks so low? that's where mine are. I don't know when the baby will move up and down instead of right to left. I guess when they get bigger and need more room.
Dollyface- I have a pointy stomach by my belly button. But my stomach starts getting big right under my breasts. I guess I am carrying low. I am so tiny, you can't go by me. There is not much room to grow. I am petite and my torso is short. But i do notice my nelly button area is pointy. Maybe your baby loves the music of the wedding. Mine loves loud music with a lot of base.
I am awake at 4:00 am. I woke up with this stabbing pain under my left rib cage. I thought I was going to die! I have been having all sorts of pains on my left. But I assumes it was from all the sneezing and coughing. I thought I pulled muscles. It could also be my hiatal hernia (stomach problems) I almost got up to go to the ER. I might post this question and see if anyone else suffers from this. Oh well, gonna grab soemthing to eat. I am starving! Then bedtime.

Well, it's time to pack up my laptop. It is going to be sad not being able to check all day long. I'll check in as much as possible and will DEFINATELY post as soon as I get the results from the amnio!!

Look ladies it says I have 126 days until the baby arrives! LOL Its 927 and I am awake just to check the board. But I think I need a little bit more sleep.
Mimi - When you say short how tall are you? Because I'm only 4'11". I might be little bit shorter then you. Or a lot.
Ami - I am still get kicks down below too. Sometimes I feel it in the rib area but thats only when I'm sitting down. Like mimi said you should worry too much about the pain unless it gets to the point where your grabbing your stomach saying ouch and that you can concentrate on anything else. I'm pretty sure its just your uterus growing also.
Natalie - We'll be here still. LOL Also waiting for your results also. If you don't get to check in everday make sure Tuesday is one of those days because I got news that day also.
Ok ladies I think I'll try to hop back in to bed and see if I fall alseep. I'll come back on later.

dollyface- I am 5'1. I am pretty proportioned. Meaning i don't have longer legs or a longer torso. My MIL told me once I got pg, that I will be more uncomfortable than most people b/c I have a short torso and the baby will be pressing up and pushing up against all my organs. I already feel like he is. When I lay down, I feel like my lungs are being crushed sometimes. I can only imagine how it's going to be when he gets bigger. I am curious about how big my belly will get. I see some women where their bellies are so HUGE I don't know how they squeeze everything in there. I just woke up from a 3 hour nap. I was up again last night for a couple of hours, as usual. I figure since dh isn't home, i would catch up on some sleep.
I want to buy more stuff for the baby, but I know I shouldn't go crazy. As it is, I have to wait til April to start the nursery b/c we need our dad's help and he comes home from Florida in April. So everytime I walk past the nursery and see all his stuff waiting to be set up, I get so anxious! I can't wait til APril/MAy- SPRING! We are so lucky to be having JUne babies. Everyone keeps telling me that's the best month. I figure I can sit outside in the sun while baby's in shade, take walks with him and eat healthy summer foods. We love to barbeque so we will grill every night. My goal is to get the extra weight off ASAP or it will be harder to get off. The summer is the best time for eating healthy. Now I am rambling. Peanut's kicks are getting stronger, I felt him today while I had my hand on my belly. Problem is dh misses it everytime.
Dollyface
01/29/2006, 02:38 PM
Mimi - You can't call him a peanut anymore. LOL He's almost 1lb. Well I just sent my daugther off with my MIL. So today its quiet time for me. So after this post I'm gonna go lay down and watch tv and see what happens. Probably fall asleep. We came up with a name for a boy but the thing is my cousin name their son Christian already. But we wanted to spell Kristian because his last name starts with a C. So I'll think about it and see if we can come up with another name or ask them how they have their son's name spelled out. Ok I feel so tired now.
Hello Ladies...
Well it has been a very unproductive day here...We went to church and then I found myself napping again while dh watched a little sports--even when there's no football game there's always some form of sports on..ugh..
Mimicam and Dollface--Thanks for your info on your experience with pelvic pains also...I am not worried about the kicks being low, I actually love every movement I feel her and when I go some time without feeling her I get a little freaked...What does worry me is all the pain and discomfort I feel low in the pelvic area..and now the horrible lower back aches...But it's seems to be a normal thing--wish they would give out a list of what you will freak over and don't need too...hahaha
I suppose I should check on dinner..I did manage to put something in the crock pot before falling asleep this afternoon--thank goodness for that because I could care less about cooking at this point..haha
Hope everyone had a great Sunday...Chat with you all later..ami

Ami - Sounds like we had the same day except for church. I've just been laying in bed trying to nap but I couldn't fall in a deep sleep. I had my tv on so I was just listening to that. Then I finally got up and drank my sunkist. I've been craving it. Since I'm home alone I was too lazy to cook anything so I just got some canned chilli and warmed that up and ate it. I was craving chilli also. LOL I know what you mean about the sports also. They always find something to watch.
Has anyone checked out the chatroom that we supposedly have on this site? It didn't open up for me but I'll try again and hopefully I'll see you ladies in there. Well I think I'm gonna relax a little and so some dishes then take a shower and go pick up a cake for my MIL and SIL its there birthday. Then go have sunday dinner over there.

Ami- I have pains all over for the past week. I have lower and upper back pain. When I get pain in the pelvic area, I assume it's gas. I get a lot of shooting pains down there, but I ignore them. I read in the pregnancy book that as long as the pains are not accompanied by fever, and bleeding than you should be fine. I love feeling my little one kick. He has been kicking non stop today. I think b/c I have been laying around and not moving much. I know they like movement b/c it rocks them to sleep. He is getting so strong. His kicks make me jump sometimes. He was kicking again by my but and cervix area that it started to hurt a little. It's such a sensitive spot. I had to yell "stop peanut" and i tried to rub my belly and he did stop. thanks god. I love when he kicks but hate it when he kicks there.
Dollyface- where is everyone today? I feel like I am always on this board. I like to hear what everyone is up to. It's nice that you got some time to yourself. Dh was gone today, so I've been bored. I am not a TV person, so I have just been dosing off all day long. I guess my body needed it. DH and I are so used to calling him peanut, that it just might stick once he's born. He is still little.
I am stuffy again. I feel like this cold will never go away. I can't wait til the Spring, maybe by then I will feel better. I am going to have to try the humidifier again tonight. I think I am going to watch "In the WOmb" again. I love watching the little baby in the womb. It is such a miracle. I feel so blessed that my body can create a human being.
Dollyface
01/29/2006, 07:19 PM
Mimi - I know what you mean. I hope the others know we're here. LOL I think there is only 5 of us posting here right now. Oooh the chilli is making me go now. Sorry TMI. I'm watching some movie on Lifetime right now. I like to watch lifetime. I'm gonna rent that movie your talking about. My little person was real quiet today also. Up until now since I am up and about. Well I should really get going to pick up the cake before the bakery closes. LOL I always sleep with the humidifier on now. So that helps me throughout the day later because I am not too stuffy. Ok I'll check in later again. I can't stay away. LOL

Ladies - I am here!!!! I kept meaing to check in the entire weekend to find out where we were going, but didn't get a chance to. I am so excited that we stuck together!
I hope everyone is doing well today. Babies moving like crazy. I think that my husband and I have created an acrobat, the kid never stops. It is pleasant now, but when he gets bigger I can just imagine it won't be so pleasant.
Is everyone feeling well? Nat - are things better for you these days?
This site is great, actually more user friendly then the last one. To heck with them!
I am 22 weeks today, I swear I get bigger everyday. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror last night and almost died. Wow, what a change!
Hey - how did you ladies get that neat little graphic at the bottom of your signature???
Okay - lurking today. Check in again soon!

LML- yay, you found us, I was getting worried. I am 2 weeks behind you and I am just starting 21 weeks today. Did you just finish 22 weeks? I know about getting big, I sometimes have to do a double take in the mirror. My baby has been moving around constantly the past day or so. It use to be sporatically, but lately all the time. But he has his active days and mellow days, so tomorrow he could be quiet.
Dollyface- what movie? The notebook? You have to see it, but get 2 BOXES of tissues when you watch. I was so stuffy I couldn't breathe at all through my nose and 15 minutes after I turned on the humdifier I was able to breathe again. Does yours last all night? Mine is supposed to last 18-24 hours, but runs low on water after 6 hours. Oh well, good enough, right.
I hope Natalie checks in, I know she is away.
Well the beginning of the week, BLAH! I just want to get through Feb. and March and I will be happy. SO far the weather in NY has been mild for winter. I hope it stays that way. I am going to get my dh a snuggly for the baby for Valentines Day. He doesn't really eat candy and he wants that snuggly so bad. From now on everything is for the baby. We don't need anything. I am going to go to Babies r us today and get it. Gotta jump in the shower. Check in later this afernoon.:p

Mimi - I started 22 weeks yesterday. And I noticed that he is getting busier and busier in the womb. Although, I notice there are certain times of day when he is a little busier than others. Usually, right after dinner he is a crazy man. My husband felt him once, but ever since then, he cannot get there in time. And also, my husband is not patient enough either. He puts his hand on my stomach for a second and then pulls away. I don't think he quite understands yet.
Everything is all about the baby now.
Hey, for those of you going back to work, has anyone started to look into childcare yet? My mother keeps badgering me about it. But I mean, I won't need it until August.
Okay - back to work.

Hey Ladies - I'm here too.. just didn't (and usually don't) get a chance to post over the weekend.. Monday morning.. back to work.. and one of the first things I do is catch up with YOU guys!! LOL
I'm just so happy that my DH finally felt a great big kick this morning from baby Carson!! It was great... he was so happy to finally have felt it..
Sounds like everyone had a good weekend.. I too had a nice two hour nap on Saturday after running errands and cleaning most of the day.. We both got into a major purge and cleaned out closets etc.. it mainly started in the babies room, but it was catching on in other rooms.. it was good. Not quite done, but it's a start. I did some major cooking yesterday.. not sure what got into me.. just felt like having some stuff to put in the freezer and to eat for the week.. I did a baked chicken, two meat loafs and a big pot of cream of cauliflower soup! I think I'll try to do some extra cooking on Sundays - when I'm home. I was exhausted.. went to bed a 9:00 last night.. felt good though!
Natalie - Have a good trip and check in when you can.. SO glad the percentages aren't that bad.. Have faith - all will work out.
Mimi - I really love the names you've picked... I think I remember now you mentioning that before.. very nice. (strong names) I've been getting similar pains lately - lower abs, almost feels like it's pulling in my leg sockets..
Wierd, but as of this morning, although my weight hasn't really changed in the last week - my clothes are definately fitting differently in the hips.. I'm wondering if those pains etc.. was my hips opening up alittle more.. I feel wider!! ugh.. not the part I was looking forward to.. OH-well.. it's all good. I told my co-workers that I probably will start looking like I have a uniform for work - plain, solid top and khaki's or jeans.. I might need to go shopping..
Ami - So glad to hear it is you and the IUI worked for you.. Sounds like we are very close in due dates.. I'm June 1st, so guess we are in the same week now - 22 wks? almost 23? My pregnancy really has been wonderful.. only alittle sickness in the beginning, but for the most part - I feel really great, I'm enjoying it and just excited with the whole thing.. miracle for sure... hope you are feeling well too..
To comment on this site.. I TOO really love it.. very user friendly - I haven't checked out some of the other features, but its looks great.. Glad we were able to all come over.. Has anyone checked on the other site to try and get more of our ladies over here. we must be missing a bunch... maybe we could post a new thread there with our "list" of names and remind the girls to come over... guess I should do it since I'm the one suggesting??
OK - had better run.. check in later.. nothing really new... enjoy your day!
hugs,
Dana

Hello ladies. I am glad everyone seemed to have a good weekend. Is it just me or does it seem like time has been really flying by lately. I can't believe it is going to be February already.
My weekend was pretty much non-exsistant. I slept maybe 90% of the weekend. I just cant seem to keep my eyes open anymore. And I don't do anything either that would make me so tired. Must be all those hormones pumping. I don't remember feeling this tired with DD.
Well, I will check in later to see how everyone is doing.
Have a great day.;)
Hi Ladies...I just had to comment on the DH and baby movement conversation...I have been so frustrated with DH and his lack of patience to just sit there during a show with his hand on my stomach and wait to feel something..There is no doubt that if he just gave it a few minutes he would feel Mia..I don't see how he couldn't--seeing as she made a glass of water that I had rested on my stomach jiggle yesterday..which of course tickled me to no extent. My Dh's response to feeling Mia is really soon I'll just feel her and won't have to wait around or guess if it's what I am really feeling..UGH MEN!!!
Dana...I am so glad that we caught back up with each other..and yes our due dates are very close..I am the 3rd of June so just two days behind you...I am have a very wonderful pregnancy too--I only had a month of the yucks and other then that most of my situations are my OWN Worries..which I am very good about--I worry alot about this little one and if everythings going good and if I am doing all I can to help her grow, etc...
Well Ladies..I better get some picking up and cleaning done..I don't think I have done a thing in a good week--and boy does this house need it..Hope you all have a wonderful Monday..Chat with you later..ami

Wow where do I start. Glad to see your here LML!!
Talk about trying to feel kicks. I tried again for daddy to feel him but he just doesn't have his hands on my tummy too hard. I guess he doesn't want to hurt the baby. LOL But when I put my hands there with a little pressure. I felt like a body part moving. It was so great I remember with DD when I was like 30 or so weeks I felt something poking out and then I was playing with it and she just moved it right away. It was so cute. I think I'll try again tonight so daddy can feel it.
Dana - Glad you were able to do all those things. I don't think I have the energy or the drive right now too cook that much. LOL I just cook all day at work that when I get home I'm done.
Mimi - I wasn't talking about the notebook but I love that movie too. I love him too. I actually got to meet him at work (Ryan) He came in for a haircut and our kitchen is right next to the salon with a window and I was just drooling over him. Then he noticed it and before he left he came in and introduced himself. I was in shock! He also invited us over to his restaurant which is Moroccan. I was talking about "In the Womb" That is a movie right? I couldn't find it on netflix. I just bought a new vicks humidifier which pretty runs as long as there is water in there, and they also have this vicks liquid thing I just put it in and it smells like vicks I love it.
I also feel myself getting bigger. I'm looking down and I see that bump getting a little bigger. Ok ladies I have some laundry to do and then nothing else. But I am looking forward for TOMORROW!! I'm glad its early in the morning. I'm so excited and anxious. I'll be back later.

I think husbands are funny. I know at least for my hubby, he is just so in awe of the whole thing, but at the same time is very disconnected to what is going on. I mean, I can't blame him, he doesn't go through what I do every day.
Speaking of men, I work with a couple here that really tick me off. I feel like I constantly get no respect because I am a younger female and these guys are all in their 50's. It just really ticks me off!
Sorry for that, I just really needed to get that off of my chest. So the baby is crazy this afternoon. I can't get over it.
Lexia - I have had a dramatic dip in energy the last few weeks as well. I was feeling good, but lately, I am just exhausted. My response to people is 'leave me a lone, I am cooking a baby!'
Oh I know what I wanted to ask you girls, and forgive me if I have forgotten from prior discussions. Are you planning on BF or Bottle Feeding? AND, is anyone taking any classes?
Dollyface
01/30/2006, 01:45 PM
LML - I will try to BF but with DD since she was so small and she didn't know how to latch on I had to pump and feed her through the bottle. So this one I will try again from the breast. I think this one will be small too and my breast is huge. LOL Since this is my second I don't think I will take any classes. My midwife hasn't said anything yet about it anyway. Oh about are lovely men. I think sometimes he forgets I'm pg. I don't know why but if I was in his shoes I would ask myself everyday how you doing how you feeling and stuff like that. But he doesn't mention anything about the baby much. I don't know if he will be the same with the second. Last night we were at his brother's and they just had a baby boy like 2 weeks ago with there second. I was holding him and I asked my DBF if he wanted to hold him and he was too scared. I said your gonna have to practice you'll have one pretty soon.

LML- I will breastfeed as well. I breastfed with DD till she was 6 months old and to this day that child never gets sick. I like to think it was because of that. The only thing I would say was negative was that my breasts looked like raisins afterwards. But other than that I had a great experience.

I totally agree about the husbands not having a "clue" sometimes.. especially about the simple gesture of asking how we are feeling etc.. It really bugs me sometimes too.. how hard is it, really? We would certainly be all on top of that if the tables were turned.. Guess that's out "care for others" natural instinct..
Oh - well.. hey, we could probably complain about DH's other traits all day, but I won't go there.. LOL
LML - Yes, I'm going to try BF too.. this is my first, so I'm planning on taking a class.. actually, my hospital has a great series of classes from BF, lamaze, child safety, infant CPR to even a daddy "bootcamp".. I think that is where they bring in some experienced dads (with their new babies) and have some "hands on" training! My DH said he would be interested, so that's cool.. I thought he'd be totally against it..
Hey speaking of things for our DH's .. does anyone know of a good, simple book for new dads?? Mine is alittle overwhelmed with some of the books I have and he's not really interested in ALL the details (again, a man thing - LOL) but he could really use something so he knows what to expect.. (well, as prepared as we can be..)
OK - off again.. BTW I posted a new message on our old site to call up everyone on our list and to invite new mommies to join us over here..
chat later..

I had gone back and forth about breast feeding, but lately I have been really into it. I really want to give it a shot. The only thing is, when I go back to work it will be hard because I will have to pump during the day.
Dana - I am taking lamaze and a newborn childcare class. I realize that the newborn class is going to be no preparation for what we are about to experience, but I would just like a refresher on diaper changing, etc. Especially for my DH. I am afraid of the BF class just because, although I want to BF I hear that sometimes the people from the hospital are a little intense about it.
My DH is not that bad about how I am feeling, although, sometimes I think that when I tell him I am tired he thinks it is a lie or something. Like I can't really be that tired. But overall he is okay. It is just this movement thing that has me a little worried.
I will tell you that I my SIL could care less. I am an only child, she is my DH only sibling, and she never asks how we are doing or anything. She is, as I call her, a waste of space. That is just not my nature.
BTW, my DH read a book in the first few months of me being pregnant. It was something about the Idiot;s Guide for an Expectant Father. It was a little book, he liked it, it was right on his level, not too overwhelming like our books are. I will look tonight when I get home to see what it is and let you know the exact title tomorrow.
That bootcamp class sounds scary....even for me.
Hey, do you all have to go in for a hospital tour? Mine is scheduled for the beginning of March. Eeek! That seems so soon.

Hey ladies...my office's internet connection was down this a.m. and I was so annoyed, not because I have work to do (which I COMPLETELY DO), but because I wouldn't have time to read and post here before my meetings all day!!! We're back on, thankfully!
So many topics...thanks for everyone's input on a girl's name. I really don't care whether it's a girl or boy, healthy is all I want, but if I'm honestly leaning towards a preference it's for a girl. That's mainly because I'm one of 4 girls and I'm USED to girls. I think I'd be more clueless with a boy, but obviously if that's what I'm having I'll have to learn! Then I remind myself of how much my parents spent on all of our weddings and I think a boy might be pretty great!
I heard about In the Womb also...I looked it up, it's apparently a National Geographic film that they're not putting out for general release until May. So, Amazon, etc. can't get it until then, but if you google National Geographic and go to their online store, you can order it there now. I haven't seen it myself...do you guys think it's worth it?
On the daycare question, I'll be going back to work fairly quickly, by August, so I've already looked into options. My early research shows it's a good idea to start looking in a month or two if you want to secure a spot, but I live in teh suburbs...I hear in cities you need to book really early to save a space at good daycares.
I do plan to try to breastfeed, but I'm nervous it will be really tough because I'm going back to work so soon. Does anyone have any recommendations on which breast pump to buy?
On books for dads, my friend loaned my DH a book she got for her DH when she was pg. called "My Boys Can Swim." It is SO funny and designed to be able to be read in a couple of visits to the toilet (let's face it, that's where they do most of their reading) and my DH enjoyed it. It's not chock full of info, but gives the basics in a very funny way. If you're looking for something light, I'd recommend it.
Weird thing happened to me last night...I was laying in bed watching TV with DH and I had to sneeze suddenly, and when I did I got a major pain in my uterus. Went away right away, but has anyone had this before?
Hope everyone's enjoying their Monday...best, tigerlove

Tiger - so are you waiting until you are further along or have you narrowed down a place in your area that will take infants and is reasonable.
I looked into Sittercity.com, where you can find people that are willing to come into your home, and the prices are not that unreasonable compared with day care. The only problem I have is that I do not have the baby yet, and am afraid that I will sound silly starting to contact people and interviewing. I may be better off finding a day care I guess.
So many questions.
Oh and I am interested in a good breastpump as well. Since I am in tiger's situation. Due June 4, will be going back to work by end of August.

Thanks LML & Tiger on the book recommendations.. I'll check it out.. I too was thinking about buying the "in the womb" movie, but was hoping I could rent it somewhere.. I'll try my local (small town) video guy - see if he has it first..
I totally forgot to mention the daycare thing.. I've been meaning to ask what you guys were planning.. I've heard people say you have to plan NOW if you want a good place.. I made the initial phone call to the center that was recommended to us (only heard great reviews) and they seemed very nice... she told me to gather a list of questions and do some online research first and then come in to interview them.. (that makes me alittle nervous) I guess all these "new" things can be alittle scary.. Anyways.. I found a site with a good list www.saferchild.org You might want to check it out...
BF pumps.. I heard that Babies-r-us now offers a rental service on pumps (the mechanical part - you have to buy the accessories) - I think I might try that for just one month to see if I can even do it.. if so, I'll invest in the Medela "pump in style" - it's around $249, but I hear the manual and the lower end electrical pumps just don't do the trick. (opinion, not fact...)
Sneezing and pains - YES - I've had that.. it scared me.. thought I ruptured something.. I have a slight placenta-previa, so that worried me... the pain went away pretty quick..
Ok - really - better get to work.. You girls are a distraction!! (I think we are all addicted to the site, ya think??) LOL
Take care..

I love this site! I think it is easier than what we were doing on the other one. So I am addicted today as well. I have not been productive work wise, but that may be my bad attitude towards my coworkers right now.
Oh well. We are a distratction, but a darn good one, don't you think???:)

LML-I have narrowed it down to 1 daycare, because a woman who works for me uses this one and she has 2 kids (1 is 3, 1 is almost a year) there and she loves them, and she's much more hard to please than I am. The thing I like about that place, other than location, is that they have a video camera in each room so that at any time you can go online and look at the rooms and watch your child. I like that not so much because I plan on watching the baby from my office's computer all day, but rather because it says a lot to me about their confidence in what goes in there that they're willing to make it open like that.
I don't think it's silly to be calling already, but I know what you mean, I feel funny calling around for pediatricians b/c my OB says we have to have that person lined up by 26 weeks! So it feels like "hi, I know my baby isn't born yet and isn't more than a pound, but would you be willing to be its doctor and are you good at it?"
I'd heard that the breast pumps can't be returned, even if the box isn't opened. Is that true? If so, for veterans out there, is it smarter to wait and make sure I can BF and that the baby latches, etc. to buy one? Hmmm.
I fully admit to the addiction of this site!! best, tigerlove

01/30/2006, 04:32 PM
Yes I admit this is very addicting. "Hi my name is Dolly and I am addicted to Fertilichat" LOL As long as its not a bad habit which will cost us money. Sometimes it keeps us away from certains that needs to be done but on the other hand we are getting help and learning about different ladies in the same situation. We are helping eachother out.
Dana - I think your better off buying a pump then renting it. For that price how long do you get to keep it? There are cheaper pumps that work as good. Check out target also and Wal-mart.
I have a question for you ladies. How many of you ladies has the pregnancy mask already? I have another old wives tale to share. My best friends MIL was trying to figure out if I was having a boy or girl. I guess I don't have that pregnancy glow so she is assuming I'm having a boy. Then she asking if my neck was darker then usual. Which I don't really notice. I also did notice I don't have a glow. Umm I'm gonna add you ladies to my buddy list. Ok barely started doing laundry. I think it'll be another lazy day for me. Very excited about tomorrow. Oh I was checking myself out in the mirror and my stomach looks more pregnant now. Ok check in later.

So much going on here:
On breastfeeding- this is my first child so I plan on breastfeeding, but I heard it is not so easy. Everyone I know said they tried but it was too hard. So we will see.
In the womb is definately worth it. I shows and tells everything that is going on with our bodies and babies. It makes this miracle even more amazing. I have watched it 4 times already. I watched it last night while my little guy was kicking and it made me feel so close to him.
On dh's being clueless- yes, we could sit here all day and list all they ways that they just don't get it. However, I have to say my dh always asks how I am feeling and does EVERYTHING in the house. He cooks, cleans, does laundry, waits on me hand and foot. SO I can't complain. He even said to me the other day that he loves me even more for carrying his baby. That meant a lot to me. SOmetimes I think dh's don't get what we go through to bring these babies into the world.
As far as dh not feeling the baby kick: I have the same issue with dh. He gets so frustrated that he can't feel him, but when I tell him to leave his hand on my belly while he is sitting next to me watching tv, he leaves his hand there for a minute and then gets frustrated. As soon as he removes his hand the baby kicks. So he can bond with the baby like I do if he would have more patience. He wants the baby to kick on command. If I could get the baby to do that, he wouldn't be kicking me in the butt and my cervix all night long!
there are plenty of books for daddies to be. I haven't gotten one for dh b/c I don't think he would get into it. He relies on me to tell him what's going on.
I hate my manager so much. I cannot work for a women. I am used to having men as managers. I do not get along with bossy women. I will not take thier attitudes and snap right back. I am doing very well in my company and ever since I got PG i feel like I am being questioned on how hard I am working. I want to tell them to go to hell! I am doing better than most people. My manager never asks how i am feeling. SHe was not sympathetic about my amnio experience and wanted me back to work asap. ANd never asked how the results were. I totally have no respect for her and I know her job better than her. ANd if I wasn't pregnant and planning on leaving I'd take her job!:D Anyway, I have to keep telling myself 4 more months and then I can tell her to stick her job up her a** and try to find someone who can bring the sales up like I have. I have great relationships with my clients that do not come easy. This manager never had a baby and isn't married. SHe is a workaholic b/c she has no life! SOrry to vent. LML got me started! just kidding.
Got no sleep last night, so iam going to lay down, check in later!

Hi everyone. I have to agree that this is a very nice board and has some very nice features that fertilitext didn't have.
A big Welcome to the newbies. I am coming out of lurker mode to comment on the breastfeeding.
I hope those of you who are interested in it give it a try and don't get talked out of it before your baby is even born. I breastfed my 2 kids until 1 year each. In fact, I just weened my 13 month old last month even though my ob recommended that I stop at the beginning of the pregnancy. I couldn't find any current data on the internet anywhere that said breastfeeding while pregnant wasn't a good idea. But I have noticed that I have definetely started gaining more weight now that I quit breastfeeding.
Just like some of you, I was a little scared to take a class on breastfeeding. I took a class at the hospital before my first child was born. It actually turned out to be a lot of fun and answered a lot of my questions. I also bought a book on it in case I were to run into any problems after the baby was born.
On the breast pumps, my hospital (I'm not sure about any others) will give you a manual one before you leave the hospital. I was also told in the class I took that most hospitals will rent out breast pumps on a monthly basis and so will some pharmacies. I have an Evenflow electric pump that I have had for 4 years now and it still works. It works pretty well and wasn't too expensive, but I wouldn't recommend it for someone who is going to be pumping at work for months. I think that I have heard that the Medela pumps are great.
I have loved breastfeeding my children and pumping occasionally so DH can feed them, but I understand it's not for everyone.
I'm glad everyone is doing well. I can hardly keep up with 2 kids and all the posts on this board so sorry I didn't post to anyone directly.
Have a great evening.

Hi everyone ~
Wow! I had fun reading all the posts! I too can hardly keep up with 2 kids and reading all of these posts! I just put them to bed and they keep running back and forth to each others rooms, as if I don't realize it. I'll give them another 5 minutes while I type this!
My DH felt the baby move for the first time last week. We were watching TV together in bed and just had his hand on my stomach the whole time. Since then he hasn't been as patient, so he hasn't felt it again.
Tigerlove ~ I think it is awesome that the daycare you are looking at has cameras and that you can check in on your little one anytime! That could be more addicting than this site!
I also get the pain you were talking about when I sneeze or sometimes when I jump out of bed really fast. I try to be prepared when I sneeze or jump out of bed, but sometimes I can't be.
About breastfeeding, I breastfed both of my girls for a year and I really enjoyed it. I rented a pump from my hospital and paid monthly. It was great for my first child, but my second child never took a bottle  . (That was rough! I could never leave for more than 3 or 4 hours!) So with my second I returned the pump after a few months and bought a manual one just in case. I thought it worked pretty good. I will probably try the manual one for this baby.
I took a bf'ing class before my first and I thought it was helpful. I also found it really helpful to speak to the lactation consultant at the hospital, and to even call them from home if I had and questions or concerns. It also helped that my BF is a labor and delivery nurse and was there to teach me how to feed my daughter right after I gave birth. One thing she told me is that people often give up too quickly because it is hard or they are hurting, so they shouldn't be afraid to seek some support. So if you are thinking about it give it a try!
Danielle ~ I tried to continue to BF while I was pregnant and succeeded only until I was 4 or 5 months then I began to dry up. I felt so sad :( , but my body could no longer feed a 1 year old and grow a baby.
Lexia ~ Love the raisin comment!!! ;)
Mimi ~ I saw your post about still having a stuffy nose! So do I! I can't ever remember a time where I have been stuffed up for more than a month straight! We actually took our girls to an indoor waterpark last weekend and while I was in the humid waterpark I felt great! As soon as we went back to our hotel room I felt awful! Well, hopefully this will pass soon!
Take care everyone! I look forward to reading more and I will check in again in the next few days!

Well ladies I've been lurking around trying to stay away and not posting too much. I don't want to bore you ladies plus I don't have any new news to share anyway. But I will tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'll be able to post as soon as I find out but maybe we'll see. :D Very excited its almost time for bed then we have to wake up and go to see the doctor!!! My heart is racing right now while thinking about it. We went out to Sizzlers to dinner and it got my mind off it for a while anyway. But now I'm back to thinking about it. Its like I'm gonna take a test or something. Or if I'm going to take a HPT! LOL I just don't know how to explain this feeling right now. I really don't know what its going to be or really care what it will be but I'll be very happy either way. Ok this will be my last post for tonight on this thread anyway. I'm gonna try to stay away. Plus I need to head to bed early to wake up early and not wake up too tired for the big day. :p Ok ladies have fun until then I hope to give you some news tomorrow.

mommyoftwo- at least your dh was patient at least once to feel the baby. Mine never will b/c he only puts his hand there for a minute. I am convinced I will be stuffy til I give birth. I just hope I don't get the flu or bronchitis these nest 2 months. I am tired of feeling crappy.
Dollyface- you better come back with some news. I hope the baby cooperates! Of course my little guy had his legs wide open b/c we already knew the sex. but had we not known I am sure he sould've had his legs crossed. I can't wait to hear. I believe you are having a boy and I am hoping for a boy for you. BUt most of all a healthy baby. Let us know asap!
I have been up since 4:00am. I can't sleep anymore. I guess I will be well adjusted whent this baby comes. I am used to no sleep. I think I am going to try and nap for an hour before work. check in laterb

Morning Girls.
Another day, another dollar. Today was a hard day to get out of bed, for whatever reason.
I heard that breastfeeding boys is easier. Someone told me that they have the boob gene from birth. They come out of the womb and immediately find it! Don't know if that is true, but I found it pretty amusing.
Mimi - your husband sounds like a dream. Although, my DH is really good with telling me how beautiful I am with my belly getting big. Which helps, since I feel enormous...and I am not that big at all. I just kind of wish my husband would help with the cleaning. He is kind of oblivious when it comes to that!
Well, nothing more here. Pretty quiet evening on my part. I will be lurking today!

Ok ladies sorry to keep you waiting had a long day. Trying to call everybody that I want to tell the news to. Also found out my cousin fell ill on Saturday and we're gonna go see her later on.
Mimi - I'm sorry to dissapoint you but the doctor said I'm having GIRL!!!! I was so shocked I was hoping what I was looking at was a little penis or scrotum. LOL But thats fine with me. I woke up at 5 in the morning thinking about it couldn't sleep for at least 45 mins. Then I had a dream that it was a girl. I think all along I knew it was a girl but for some reason I think the doctor is wrong. I'm not sure if I'm only saying because I really wanted a boy deep inside. But I still want to do a 3d ultrasound. The where they will make a video for you and take lots of pictures. I'm not dissapointed I'm just glad that she's healthy and nothing is wrong with her. I know she's very strong because I was getting it in the ribs this morning.
Once again for keep you ladies waiting but here are some u/s pictures.

:) Congratulations Dolly! I am so glad to hear about your healthy little girl!!!!
I think you can relax. I had the same fear after my US that the tech was wrong, but the doc said that they don't tell you unless they are almost 100% certain. Especially since they put it in a report for your doctor.
So let's hear it, do you have some girls names picked out? What are you doing with the room???
We may be starting to even up the list.
Hey - where has Mimi been? Our thread was really slow yesterday. I missed it.
Yesterday was a big movement day for us. I mean, my little one was all over the place like a crazy man. It is starting out that way today as well. I have to say though, when I finally get all settled to go to bed, he doesn't move, or else I do not feel him. I guess that is a good thing right now. ;)
Oh, so I got on the Babies R Us website yesterday to look at my registry. Oh my, people have already bought us stuff. I am assuming that it must be my in laws or my parents or family. Exciting!:)
Talk to you girls in a bit!

Congratulations Dollyface!! So happy to hear all went well and that you are having a girl!! (girl #2!!) My close friends have two girls and they are three years apart and they are just great.. How "sure" were they? (%)? They told me 98% on the boy - heck, I could even see the little guy! LOL Hope your cousin is ok..
Yeah, I noticed yesterday was alittle slow... looks like there were some other new conversations going on that were keeping the threads busy.. I was jammed at work, so I only checked in a couple times... lml - NICE that you are already seeing things being bought off your list!
I'm going to be home alone this weekend and I just don't know what to do first!! - clean, paint, shop.. just laze around?? I don't know.. What is everyone doing to get "organized" for the baby to come.. I have a office of paperwork to go through, since I'll be moving that out into another room and using the current office for the baby's room.. I bought an accordian file just for all the 'baby' stuff.. from doctor's receipts, to birthing class info.. even just magazine articles etc.. I can be alittle disorganized at times (only at home really - not sure why!?) I don't have a problem at work!
Here's a question for you... I have only recently been back in touch with some long lost friends from the old company I worked for... we had worked together for 12+ years, then out of touch when we all moved on and went our separate ways.. Two of the girls I was really close with and now we are trying to do a dinner date once a month.. (so far only twice) - Do you think I should invite them to my shower?? Or has too much time gone by? I don't want it to look like I'm just inviting them for a 'gift'! I'm alittle stumped on this one..
Ok - I'm rambling on...
Have a great day.. hope to see you all on here to catch up a bit...

Dollyface- I was dying to hear from you!!! I really thought it was a boy b/c the baby was moving so early and so much. I am not disappointed! I am glad she is healthy. Esp. after the scare I went through. All that matters are that these little babies are healthy. I love little girls. I know you wanted a boy. I wanted a girl first, but now am excited about this boy. My next hopefully will be a girl. You have a very active little diva on your hands. If you get the 3D ask them before they do it if it doesn't come out good if you still will be charged. I don't know if my place will charge me b/c they couldn't get a good picture. It was horrible. I've seen really good ones done and maybe this guy didn't know what he was doing. But I am not paying for it. I didn't get to see anything. They will probably blame it on the baby, but so many women get it done and the pictures look great, so I'm blaming it on the tech and not paying for it!
LML- I am here. I just got home late from work and I had such a headache yesterday. I just ate dinner and went to bed. I haven't been sleeping much. I can't believe people are buying things from your registry already. I have been looking on mine but nothing yet. My MIL is buying us the crib and maybe a bassinet so I doubt she will buy too much off the registry. I have no idea what my mom will buy. I know she bought a lot of clothes for my neices and nephews, but usually she buys the strollerb. But I think my 2 best friends are buying the stroller. Oh well, it's so exciting! My little one has been kicking a lot too. And very hard lately. I know dh will be able to feel him if he is patient enough to wait for a kick. I guess our little ones are getting bigger and stronger. I am feeling thumps all over. I am trying to figure out where he is located in there by his kicks but i can't. It feels like he is all over the place. Sometimes I think I'm being kicked by a foot and other times a fist.
My sister and her family ar coming over for dinner tonight. my neices and nephews want to see my belly. Thye are so excited to have a baby around again. The youngest in the family is 4. SO they can't wait formy little guy.
I hope dh's parents come this weekend so we can order the crib. They agreed to pay for it. It can take up to 3 months and I want the room done by late April. I also have to order a changing table and a glider. Has anyone ordered their furniture yet?
Where is NCHILL? I guess she is still away and hasn't heard anything yet.
Gotta get ready for work. Check in later!

Annie, I too get horrible heartburn everynight. I have to take a Tums before I go to bed. It seems like it is worse right before I climb into to bed. I was like that when I was pregnant with DD, so I kind of expected it. The things we have to go through to bring a life into this world.;) .

I can't wait to find out the sex! I can't start the nursury until I know! My mother in law is buying our crib (she did for the other two as well), but I don't want to pick the bedroom set out until I know if it is a girl or a boy. I'll try to be patient!

Dollyface, CONGRATULATIONS on your news! Little girls are so much fun to shop for! I am one of 4 girls and I have to tell you, while they drive me crazy there's nothing like sisters. That's wonderful news...name ideas yet?
Someone asked about furniture...actually, my DH is building the crib himself! I picked out a design I liked, and he is modeling the crib after that. It is all cherry wood, and last night when I got home I found him in his workshop carefully trying to decide which pieces of wood would look the prettiest on the detail for the sides! I started to cry it was so sweet how much he was concentrating. He is extremely talented at this type of thing, and it's almost done, we just have to pick the stain. He's even made sure that everything from the wood to the stain choices to the specs comply with all safety regulations!
He ordered the mattress spring and hardware from one of his woodworking catalogs, and every other piece of it has been hand chosen and done by him. At first I was resistant to the idea, thinking there is so much else we need to do to get the house ready and it would take so much time, but he said "I want to build our baby's first piece of furniture and give it an heirloom." He had tears in his eyes when he said that, and I felt like a total heel! So I gave in, and now I am so glad I did. I've even suggested that he build a matching armoire instead of buying one, and he's so excited about it!
Sorry to go on and on about this, it's just one of those things that is so touching about being pg. with the man you love's child!
Is anyone else just starving all the time during this trimester? I went into the pg. overweight as it is, so I'm really trying to keep the lbs. to a minimum, and so far that's worked out okay, but I have been eating like crazy lately! Is it just me? I'm afraid of what the dr.'s appointment I have on Friday is going to reveal!!!! best, tigerlove

Hi ladies had to check in before I started my day. Just dying to know what the replies were about my little girl. I forgot who said something about girls but I know what you mean about having two girls. My best friends has a sister and they are real close even though that are not that close to age. I think the same age difference as my girls will be. I am just so scared that it will pop out a boy though. LOL Well the doctor said that there is always room for mistake because these things can't always be accurate. But I'm pretty sure it was accurate because we were looking in between her legs and that should have been clear enough. LOL
I won't have a nursery for this little one. She'll share a room with us. I'm gonna start my registry next week. I'm so excited I'm gonna go wth my pg friend who is due on the 20th of this month LOL. Ok ladies gotta make this short have to get going for work and get some breakfast. CHeck in later. :D

Tiger - I think that is so beautiful about your hubby, that is so nice. How wonderful!
Was it on this thread or another thread that talked about if you have consistent heartburn throughout pregnancy that your baby will be born with a full head of hair. Not sure how accurate that is (since it is an old wives tale) but it sounds funny.
So I talked with my mom this morning. I had lunch with my aunt (her sister) last week. So, my mom talked with my cousin (this aunt's daughter) last night. Whatever, my aunt called her and told her that I am getting big and starting to waddle!
Now, don't get me wrong I realize that my body changes are for a good cause, but I am in no way BIG yet. And I am not waddeling. If I am waddeling at this point, then what will happen at 9 mos? My mom laughed, she set the record straight, she said I am very cute with just a belly, I have gained weight, but baby weight, and NO I don't waddle.
Glad I have mom on my side!
Oh well, gonna get back to it. God is it Friday yet?

Hey ladies.. that's funny about the heartburn and the hair.. never heard that one before! I've had a few cases of heartburn, but really nothing to complain about.. Oh, and whoever mentioned the hunger thing.. you know - I've only noticed it in the last week or so.. I eat small meals throughout the day, so that helps not to get too hungry, but still!! I just had some veggies and dip and my stomach is growling!
LML - I was feeling the same way when my husband says to me the other day.. "wow, you're really getting big"! Gee, thanks hon.. Of course that gives me a complex for three days.. until I meet a group of girlfriends who say I look great and that I really have only gained in my belly! I think I'll choose to believe my girlfriends!
Chat later.. gotta run..

OH Tiger - I forgot to mention about the crib your husband is making - how beautiful!! I can really appreciate what you're talking about cause my DH works in custom cabinetry too.. he is such a perfectionist when it comes to his work.. He wants to do built-ins in the nursery to spruce it up alittle...
enjoy! I'm sure it will be just wonderful!

Tiger- you are so lucky! I wish my dh was handy like that. You will have the prettiest crib out there!
LML- that is a myth about the heartburn and hair. NOT TRUE! My sister had bad heartburn with all 3 kids and all were born bald. I can't believe your aunt said you are starting to waddle! I would be so pissed! I feel lucky that my face hasn't changed and I just have a basketball belly. My belly is getting big b/c the BABY is getting big! I would like to know how these women who make these comments looked when they were preggo! Sure not a pretty site!
annie- I don't get heartburn just bad acid reflux where my food comes into my throat. TUMS doesn't do much. I have no cure for you. I have had this even before Pregnancy but it has gotten so bad that I hate laying down at night b/c my food comes up! GROSS! Most pg women get heartburn so you are not suffering alone.
I am not as stuffy today, but every day is different. I was talking to a client today and my little guy was kicking so hard in the same spot that I had to grab my belly. My client started to laugh and said you have a boxer on your hands. He kept jabbing me all day. He is getting more active but he is starting to hurt a little. Can only imagine when he gets bigger!
I have to clean the house before my sis and her kids come tonight. I will check in later tonight:D

Mimi - tell me how pissed I was when I heard that! AND, talking about how big my aunt was when SHE was pregnant, talk about how big she is NOW! Lots of nerve I will tell you! I am sure she didn't mean it like I took it, but doesn't anyone remember what it is like to be pregnant and slowly see your body morph into something you are not used to?!?!
I have to tell you girls, I just had a hormonal moment. My husband and I were emailing back and forth about my SIL, which tends to be a touchy subject with me. Anyway, he said something and I went off and shot off a harsh email. After I sent it, and got the real me back, I sent off another one that said I was wrong to be harsh and that I was sorry, but boy, I bet he is unhappy, he was already having a bad day so I am sure I didn't help things. Oh well, the ride home should be interesting.
This may be the last that you ladies hear from me today, so take it easy. And speaking of heartburn, there was another thread on here about drinking pickle juice or vinegar before eating to help out with heartburn. But I don't know.
I will talk to you all later!:)
Lexia626

Pickle juice and Vinegar? I think I would rather have the heartburn. ugh.
Anyway, I have to get ready to go home. You ladies have a good night and will check in on everyone tomorrow.
Goodnight and pleasant dreams.

LML- my MIL keeps asking me how much weight I gained since the day I got pg. SHe keeps telling me that when she was pg with my dh she only gained 15lbs. She says I should not gain more than that b/c it will be hard to lose it. First of all, 25-35 lbs is the average ( i told her this) second, I am very careful with my weight and work out regularly and am average weight. Third, does she think I am going to be huge like her and her daughter? My dh said that my MIL was very overweight when she got pg with him so that's why she only gained 15 lbs. Also she should worry about her and her daughter's weight. They are huge! I don't know why she is so concerned about me! I have only gained 12lbs so far and talking to other pg women I hear that's pretty good! I am also all belly. I keep venting to dh that she makes me feel self conscience everytime I see her! Everytime I eat a thing I feel she is watching me! I keep telling her my dr. is very happy with my weight. SHe is a know it all, so you can't talk to her. Dh says he will tell her to stop, but I don't want to start a fight b/c her and I are always on the edge of a brawl. Our personalities clash. So I know how you feel when people esp. family members who are huge themselves have something to say about our weight, when we are progressing perfectly! I am going to see MIL this weekend to get the crib and I am sure she will make a comment again. I will go crazy this time b/c my hormones are making me very irritable and I tend to blow up lately!b:eek:

I can't believe how rude some MILs can be, and people in general! I have a pg. book that actually says that our mother's generation may say they were told only to gain 15 lbs., but that the current medical thought is much more than that. I can't remember which one it's in, but Mimi if your MIL says anything about it this weekend you could just say you read that in one of your books. Don't let her pushiness bother you...just make her feel like her advice is outdated!
My MIL likes to constantly "poo poo" the current "trends" in baby things, even safety issues, with my SIL and now me. For example, she'll say "I know now they say that you should put the baby to sleep on its back, but when my sons were babies the trend was to put them on their tummies, and I'm sure in a few years it will be back on their tummies again!" My SIL and I just look at each other like "WRONG!" I finally got so fed up with this that last time she said it AGAIN, I said "yes, and that generation had several fold more babies dying of SIDS than have died since they've recommended back sleeping exclusively." That shut her up!
Sometimes just making them feel like they're not bothering you and taking a tone that suggests that you give her opinion no weight (no pun intended) is the best way to go! If that doesn't work, you could sink really low and say "I've never had a weight problem before, so I'm not really concerned about it...I'm not fat, just pregnant."
Good luck!!! tigerlove

tigerlove- I have told her about that the pregnancy books and my doctor say that 15 lbs is too little. That I should gain 25-35. She is such a know it all. SHe will never shut up. I am trying not to be rude b/c she knows I am close to my family and I think she feels that I always want to be with them. I am nice to her b/c dh gets upset when we don;t get along. He knows she says stupid things but he makes excuses for her and tells me to ignore her! My own mother doesn;t tell me what to do and how to live my life, but she tries to. I know she is not mean spirited. I know she loves her son and will adore and love my baby. She is just used to being in control and having everyone in the family listen to her. It's like a tug of war on who is right me or her. SHe knows I am strong willed and I do not take any crap. I think she thinks i must boss her son around. I admit I have control over most things (like most women) but her son is not suffering. I take care of him very well.
My sister and her kids just left and I am exhausted. They are so energetic. Plus the dunkin donuts didn't help. I had a donut and now my heart is racing from the sugar and the baby is bouncing around in there! He will not sit still and I will be up all night with his kicking!
I am watching American Idol. We have to start a new American Idol thread. Vegas last night was a disappointment. bb

Hi ladies I know I'm on late. But I was so tired today and I had such a long day. I had to rest and I just got up to eat and I feel so much pressure that I can't even walk. It hurts when I walk. Right now I'm looking down at my stomach and it looks like it grew over night. Right now I have a little mild cramping and hoping it doesn't get worse. Also my little one has not been moving much since we found out she was a girl. I think now that we know she started to act like a little lady. LOL
Mimi or anyone else that is 22 weeks or along did you have a u/s lately and did the doctor tell you how much the little one weighs? My doctor told me my girl is about 1lb already. Just wanted to know if she is not too big for 22weeks. In the book it read that the baby will be 1lb at 23weeks. Just wondering if she will be bigger then big sister or is that the average weight gain for now.
The subject about the MIL. I'm lucky MIL is so nice and not judgemental or hypocrytical. I think thats how you spell it. LOL I'm too lazy to do a spell check. Ok I'm done for the night my stomach feels like its gonna explode or something like it can't grow anymore.
Mimi - Good to hear that you can breathe again. Was just wondering how that was going for you.

I swear this is why these websites were created, to be able to talk openly about what is bothering us without being judged.
I have to say I hear where both Mimi and Tiger are coming from. I feel like there is this constant push and pull between anyone in my husband's family and myself.
Mimi - I want to know honestly, when your husband makes excuses or tells YOU to ignore his mother, don't you just want to jump out of your skin? A similar situation arose yesterday with my SIL and my husband, again makes and excuse for her and tells me to let it roll off of my shoulders. When does that stop? When does he look at me and say, MY wife, MY family comes first, and my inconsiderate sister doesn't get the luxury of my defenses. You know, it is a matter of protection. Protect our family unit. Now that this child is involved, it is a whole different ball game. The funny thing is, I am an only child and very close to my parents. BUT, if my parents cross any type of line, I am the first to tell them about it. (But they rarely do)
My MIL has been a little better since news of the baby. It is almost like now I am her equal because I am going to raise a child of my own or something. But I always felt that I was being tested before. I really wondered if it was a 'are you good enough for my son' thing.
Oh well, is it worth the extra energy to worry so much. It is just that since I have gotten pregnant I am having a hard time letting things roll off of my shoulders so easily. It has to be the hormones, I just want to shake it, because it is only going to get more complicated as time goes on.
Dolly - I was not told the weight of my baby at the ultrasound. But I think at about 22 weeks if she is a pound that is about right. I am not sure, I just read something about that last night.
I notice that when I walk up and down steps I am so out of breath and my heart is pounding. Last night, I had to get up in the middle of the night to let the dog out and when I got back to bed it took a good five minutes for my breathing to go back to normal. It really sucks.
The baby was really moving a lot last night. My DH did feel it a few times. I was kind of disappointed in his reaction I thought it would be more exciting to him or something, but maybe it isn't because, again, they are so far removed from the process right now. To those who have had DH feel movement already or those who already have kids, how did your DH react to the feeling of their baby moving in the womb?
Okay - I started off the day on kind of the wrong foot. So I am going to try and get into a positive mood here. Performance review at 10 today. Wish me luck!

Dolly- I don't think I was told the LBS. I forgot to ask. I think 1lbs is right.
LML- dh is never around when she says these things. She knows better b/c HE WILL snap at her. So I end up telling him after she leaves and then he asks if I want him to say something to her. I say no and then I keep going on about it. That's when he gets aggrivated and tells me to ignore her and let it go. He hated hearing me complain about it. He says he will shut her up if I want but If I don't want him to say anything then I need to stop complaining. Guys hate when women go on and on. They never do, but we love to! We will see what happens this weekend if they come out to get the crib. I know she will ask how much I gained and then I will find dh and say "honey, do you remember how much I gained last appt.?" then dh will go off on her b/c he knows it's not of her business and I get upset! I already have it all figured out! SPeaking of out of breath, I know what you mean! I get up to go to the bathroom and it takes a good 10 minutes before my breathing slows down. Last night it was racing so much b/c I had a sugar donut. Anytime I eat sugar or chocolate it gets so bad. So I am not doing it anymore. I don't even crave sweets, but my neices and nephews bought me donuts so I had to eat one.
I hope we hear from NCHILL soon. I am sure everything is ok, but I would like to hear it from her. Gotta go get ready for work. check in later!

Good morning ladies. About the MIL issue. My MIL is great, it is my mother that is driving me nuts!!! She keeps saying things like, "You were so fat when you were pregnant with daughter, I hope you dont get that big again, or we will have to get you to a gym." I lost it. I yelled at her. I told her" No wonder all the girls in this family have weight problems or eating disorders, they are contantly reminded of their weight and your disapproval." She got real defensive and I ended up just leaving. I am at the point where I am losing my patience alot quicker than before. AHHHHHHH!!
Anyway, I can relate to some of you ladies who are having unwanted advice. It can make you want to climb the walls.
I will check on everyone later. Have a good day.

Dolly ~ My u/s was at 19 1/2 weeks and the baby was 10 oz, which the Dr said was average. I just read recently that 1 lb was about right at 22 weeks.
Mimi ~ Great idea for what to do if you MIL asks how much you gained! You could always make up some outragous number, "Well so far I have gained 55 lbs!" I can't believe the nerve of some people! I would never ask someone how much they have gained! It is so rude!
Well, my children are sick today so I probably won't check back until tomorrow.
Have a great day!

Hello Ladies,
I have been so incredibly busy with work and social obligations, I have barely been on here for the past month! I have literally a few secs, so wanted to let everyone know I found you. So glad I checked the old site 2 nights ago. I haven't caught up w/ any posts, but plan to.
Just wanted to say we found out two weeks ago we are having a BOY!!!!
Hope everyone is well and happy.

Congrats Lizzy!! so happy for you and glad you found us back too!! Another boy to add to the big list!! thank God we'll be able to come to eachother for little boy advice!! I know for me - I'm terrified and clueless at this point as to how to raise a boy! Hoping I'll learn from him too as we go along..
Just had a very discouraging phone conversation with the CT state dept of labor.. I was just checking to see if CT offered any state disability, since I am getting NOTHING as far as paid leave.. and the answer is NO.. they are not one of the states that offer that.. they claim if they mandated such a thing, taxes would be much higher.. blah, blah, blah.. I said "we already have one of the highest tax rates in the country!!".. she, of course.. couldn't deny it..
What a crock.. just because I work for a small company.. I'm basically screwed.. I feel like I'm being discriminated, and that I'm being punished for wanting to have a baby!! If it wasn't for the fact that I need to carry the insurance for us, I'd tell them to take this job and ***you know what***!
Sorry, had to vent there, but it just ticks me off.. to think, I gave up a much higher paying job to work closer to home so I could have a family and it feels like I'm going backwards!!!!!! Wait til the daycare calculation comes into play.. I'll be researching private insurance for sure!
BTW - ANYONE know of affordable insurance for the self-imployed?? (in case I don't go back to work and I have to put it with my husbands carpentry business? Just curious..
Thanks for letting me vent!! love you ladies!!

Hi there! I made it over:) I was so busy last week and then it took me some time to catch up! We had the Ultra Sound and found out that we are having a BOY! I am so excited. I think it is funny how you can have conflicting emotions about being excited to have one gender and disappointed for not having the other all at the same time. I think my husband wanted a girl. I told him "maybe the next one will be a girl" and he told me to slow down:) I am just so thrilled!
I feel like it was like going to a fortune teller and now I have a glimpse of what the future holds!
I have a great MIL but I am so sensitive. She has been such a help but when I told her we were having a boy she said ..your SIL and I were sure you were having a girl because you seem to be carrying your weight all around as oppose to just in your tummy! OUCH! As if I don’t already obsess!
Here are some things that I did not know would happen or have questions on.
That the color on your chest around your N not only gets darker but gets bigger to make a "target" for your baby when breastfeeding. The other day I looked at my self in the mirror and was shocked because I was not expecting that.
That they stick a monitor in your baby's head when it is in the birth canal so that they can detect its heartbeat. Now is this really true that they stick something in NOT on the baby's head? My SIL said she was really upset that the nurse who put it in her baby girl did a terrible job and it took quite some time to heal.
Most babies turn yellow at some point in the first two days?
It seems there are so many things that I am finding out that it is like nobody talks about.
I am going to the doctor on Friday to do an ultra sound of my cervix to make sure that it is competent. I had a leep in the past my doctor wants to make sure that it will be strong enough to hold as the baby gets bigger. If it is not she will do a sutra! YOWWWW!! I am hoping all looks good!
So glad everyone is doing so well!!!!!!!!!!

Lexia- I would kill my mom if she said that. My sister gained a lot of weight with each kid and is now about 40-50lbs overweight and my parents never say anything to her. She knows she's heavy what is mentioning it to her going to do but hurt her feelings. My sis is an adult and if she wants to keep the weight on that's her business.
Lizzy and Michelle- congrats on the boy! The boys are taking over. I too am having a boy and am very excited, even though originally I was hoping for a girl. I am excited for Dh. Next time!
Michelle- what is a leep? They put that monitor on the baby's head during labor? I always see it around the belly. I don't know if that's true. Never heard of that and I am sure I wouldv'e knowing so many women with children. Hopefully some mommies here can clarify that.
mommyoftwo- Yeah, we will see how it all goes down with MIL. I don't want a confrontation, I just want her to be more aware of my feelings. What does it matter how much I gain. I could see if it was dangerous to me and the baby, but I am no where near that! I hope your kids feel better. What's wrong with them? FLU, COLDS, lower respiratory?
Dana- that should be against the law that your company doesn't offer benefits! But I never heard of no state disability. On your paycheck do you pay into disability? Each paycheck I pay NY state income taxes which I believe pays for diability. Maybe they don't deduct from your paycheck. What happens if someone hurts themselves and can't work, they don't get disability money? That makes no sense! My company offers 6 or 8 weeks pay at 70%. Then I get to take an extra month off unpaid if I want. The family medical leave act allows you to take 3 months off and still keep your job. So how long are you going to take off? That's crazy! I just looked through my pregnancy books for this info b/c I thought by law you are entitled to pay somehow. But all I found was that by law you are allowed to take 3 months off and still receive medical benefits. So your compnay still has to pay your medical benefits. But they don't have to pay maternity leave! I will keep looking. B/c that seems unjust!
Oh well, I am feeling very tired and I think i will take a nap. Check in later!

:) Wow all the boys in June, this is really crazy! Michelle and Lizzy congrats on your ultrasounds and on your healthy little boys!
My DH is in the baby's room right now getting the walls ready to paint! I love it!!!
I do think that company's who don't offer some sort of benefits for women who are having babies are punishing women for wanting children. It says a lot about the company and how they value women in their workplace. I am extremely lucky, this I know, to have paid short term disability, and I feel for everyone that does not have that benefit. It is astonishing. Then when you think about the cost of child care, whew it is terrible!
MIL telling you when you are gaining too much weight, I have to laugh. I think everyone should just keep their thoughts to themselves! I looked at my ankles and feet today and they look a little puffy. God, I hope that I am not retaining water!
Michelle - like mimi, I thought the fetal monitor went around the mother;s belly, I never knew anything about on the head. As far as your breast, I guess you could say that is mother nature's definition of a bull's eye for the baby! ;) As far as the yellow color, I thought that was a sign of jaundice, and then they have to put them under the lamp. I would say jaundice is pretty normal from what I have heard.
Oh well ladies, my eyes are starting to hurt. Survivor premier tonight! It is the one show my DH and I both like.
Talk to you all tomorrow!

My SIL said that when you are pushing and the baby is in the actual canal that the belly monitor does not pick up it's heart rate. I dont know much about this, I am going to have to do some investigating and ask her about all of that again.
A leep is a laser surgery they do to remove abnormal cells that can be cancerous on your cervix. I had one about 5 years ago. Sometimes this procedure can make for a weak cervix. They keep a close eye on your cervix throughout the pregnancy to make sure it is closed. I am keeping positive about it all and thinking good thoughts. I know this baby is meant to be.
What about Paternity leave? Is that different state to state as well? I think that my husband gets up to 12 weeks at half his normal pay from the state.
We decided to have two showers and both of them coed. I LOVE getting together with just the girls but I kind of feel like the dad already misses out on so much of the pregnancy that it may be cool for him to feel included in the baby celebrating. Of course I don’t know how boys are with those shower games. Is anyone else thinking of a coed shower?

Michelle- my dr found irregular cells on my cervix right when I got PG. He did a colposcopy and saw abnormal cells but couldn't do a biopsy while I was pg. I am so scared to wait til after the baby is born. I hope it doesn't spread!!! My sister had precancerous cells and had them frozen but then had 3 babies. I have a feeling I will have to have a procedure done. I have to go right after the baby is born. I am so paranoid about waiting but they can't do anything while i am pregnant. I am so scared. I didn't know that the procedure effected a pregnancy. I didn't know it weakened the cervix. I hate that I have to wait to know what's going on. My dr said it takes years for it to turn cancerous, but I know women that it turned cancerous in a year. What do you know about this?

I sure have missed this board. We have offically finished day 4 of our Dairy Queen training and I had NO idea serving ice cream was so hard:).
It has been a big change working 7am-5pm each day. I've been working primarily from home since we began the IVF process. The first day was hell, but it has gotten better each day.
In my class alone there are 4 sets of twins (out of 21 people). Me, a boy/girl set (IVF), Twin identical Girls (natural), and another who lost the twin at 20 weeks - but were IVF also. It's been neat to listen to everyone else's stories and tips.
I couldn't see it before I left but this training came at a good time. I am so busy everyday I don't have time to think about this whole amnio issue. When I get home (or back to the hotel) I am exhausted. We eat dinner and I fall asleep. Jim (my dh) flies up tomorrow for the weekend, so that should keep me busy during those days. Monday will be day 11 and the earliest we can call for results. They told me not to be discouraged if we don't get them until Friday - so at the most just a week away. I really think things will end up fine, but I'm sure those moments on the phone waiting for the yay or nay will be torture.
Glad to see others joining us - I'll have to update our list when I get more time.
Dolly: A GIRL!! I know what you mean. I wanted boy/girl twins SO bad and when they said 2 girls although it wasn't what I wanted, I was still very happy and excited. I don't even think about it any more.
There are so many personals to add - but I am supposed to be working on my month end reports for my work, so I'll check in on Sunday once dh heads back home.
Glad to hear all is well - Maybe Monday I'll have some results to post!

Michelle - I had a coed shower with my DD and planning on having another one also. Its so much better to include everyone because we're just close like that with everyone. Also we have some our friends with DD that is single. I am also going to have two seperate showers. My mom is gonna throw a seperate one with only her friends which I either get more money then baby things.
I'm so jealous of you ladies with the baby boys!! I don't know why I'm feeling this way but maybe because I want a boy so bad that I have a weird feeling the doctor is wrong. LOL.
Mimi - I called about the 4d u/s and asked them when is the perfect time to do it and to get a good picture. The guy told me at 27 weeks is the perfect time so I decided to do it and we'll schedule it around that time.
I was so tired from last night I went in to work later and decided to take tomorrow off. I'm wondering if I can make it to 30 weeks. I am cramping on and off. So tomorrow I decided to go to target and start my registry. Then next week I will go to babies r us and start the registry there. I'll check in later again I have to run to the market and pick up medicine for DD she has a runny nose. Take care. I'm determine to find a little boy growing inside me. LOL There is way too much movement for a girl. :D

Hi, I'm a Feb mommy and I wanted to pop in here and respond to the following post:
[QUOTE=michelle74]
OK, so this is my answer to your questions. I am having my 6th so I speak from a bit of experience.
1) As far as the internal monitor - this is not routine practice as far as I know. If your waters broke or are having pitocin, they will have you on the monitor, but this is with external sensors (two belts that wrap around your body one for measuring the heart rate and one for monitoring contractions). Ask your doc about the internal monitor. I think it is done only in certain cases of fetal distress.
2) Not ALL babies turn yellow. Some never turn yellow. All of mine turned yellow on the first day. That is because DH and I have different blood types - he is A+ and I am 0-. All of our kids get pathologic jaundice. This is different than the "breastmilk jaundice" that commonly occurs on around the 3rd day. My children usually require treatment until "bili lights" and sometimes more extensive treatment. But my last baby was barely yellow and was only treated with bili lights for less than a day. By the third day his skin was a beautiful white color with pink cheeks. He was gorgeous and I still marvel that I didn't have any problems with his bilirubin like my first 4.
Anyway, if you have any more questions like these, please feel free to send me a private message or an e-mail. I will try to answer any of you June (or other months for those of you lurking) mommies that have questions.
Good luck and belly rubs

Hi there - Just wanted to add to Nechomah's post about the internal monitor. They used this when I was in labour with DD as she was in a posterior position and they couldn't get a good trace of her heartbeat using the external monitors. I was being induced, and therefore needed constant monitoring (just something they do here in Australia for inductions - not sure if it's the same there). Anyway, the monitor is called a 'fetal scalp monitor' and it has a little coil of wire, like a spring, that they 'twist' into baby's scalp (skin only). It is tiny - like a pin prick. They could monitor DD properly through this, and lucky they did as she did end up in distress and we needed a c/s. They will certainly ask you before applying the internal monitor, and if they need to, just ask to see it first and get them to explain it to you.
Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone.. sorry I don't have much time for personals, but wanted to say HI to Natalie - glad to see you made it through the first week of training!
Just an observation.. did you guys notice how many "views" we get on this thread?? We must be interesting!?!? LOL Hope there's some more June mommies that want to join us.. **hint, hint** don't be shy!
Not sure if any of you saw my other thread about my swollen ankles, but I'm alittle concerned about how early I'm seeing it.. only 23 weeks?? I go to my doc on Monday, so we'll discuss.. Hope it's not a sign of anything serious.. Has alot to do with circulation and blood pressure.. I SIT all day.. well, most of it.. so I really need to get on that treadmill and get my circulation going! I'm alittle scared about it...
I'll personalize more later.. gotta run, sorry...
Hope everyone is having a good day...

dana- I posted to you on that thread. Watch your salt and standing or even sitting too long. I would go get my blood pressure checked to be sure. I often do b/c I get a racing heart or pulse very often. My blood pressure is 110/70 usually so it makes me feel better. Maybe for peace of mind you should just walk in and get it checked. You should be able to just walk in and they should take your pressure. Don't worry, just get it checked out. I am sure you are fine.

Ok ladies just dropping in to let you know that I went to target today and started my registery. I added some weird things little things. Like onsies and receiving blankets and socks and jumpsuits. I didn't know what to add exactly because they didn't have much choices but I'll probably add more stuff online. It was so much fun. I went with my DD. Next week I'll probably go to babies r us and open one with them. Ok ladies I'll be lurking around. I'm gonna go nap now.

Hey ladies, I am going today to purchase the Jardine swivel rocker in green gingham at babies r us. It matches the baby's room perfectly! I was going to get a glider but this chair I could use in any room forever. I am so excited! Also tomorrow my in-laws are definately coming to order the crib and changing table! Moving along. It could take up to 3 months to come in so we have to go soon. I will check in later

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!
Thank you guys SO much for the info on the scalp monitor. I guess it is good to know that the baby can be monitored through out the labor. I think I even got a glimpse of it in the "In The Womb" video when the mother was delivering. It just looked like a tiny piece of wire, not at all what I was imagining when I first heard about it. It is so good to know these things and have an idea of what to expect. It can be hard to be suprised while you are in a vunerable state.
I went to the doctor for the cervical sono and she said that all was well. She said anything under 35cm(?) is when they take precaution and that I was 36! Close but in the safe zone:) They used the vaginal sono and I got the see the babys head and shoulders (right on the cervix). Sooo cute.
Mimi- I totally understand how you feel. It is probably good to wait because you need your cervix as strong as possible to hold that little one in. Sometimes your body can fight those cells off on its own and you have so much blood right now going to that part of your body that I bet the chances of that are good! I was told the cells do grow really slow. I was crazy and did not go to a gyno until I was 25. Thank goodness for free clinics or I may not have gone until I was 30.
The leep/laser surgery is a really great in that they are very precise and take only what is necessary. If they know you want to have babies they really try hard to keep your cervix strong. Then they do a study of the outline of the cells to make sure that all of the edges of the cells were removed. In my case there was one edge that was not complete but it was small enough that my body took care of the rest and I have never had an abnormal pap since. I know there are other procedures too that have been around for a long time.
ON the bright side, if you have had any procedure involving your cervix you are put on a highwatch list at the OB. Now I go in every three weeks to have my cervix and checked. I feel so lucky to be having a baby in these times with such great technology.
Here is my question for the day:) What is okay to take as a hand me down and what should you really buy new? Someone at my work offered me her breastpump. My instinct was that it was a strange (maybe even unsanitary) thing to pass down but I just have no clue.
Dollyface

Mimi - How exciting about the crib! Man your moving things along aren't you? Have fun. I think I have everything I might need. But I'm not sure.
I was reading the thread about the second baby shower and it made me feel bad. Because my mom wanted to throw me one and there are some things that I don't have and do need. Because there was the bassinet and playpen that was passed down from DBF's cousin and then we passed it down to our niece and I know its at least 7 years old so we don't want to use it anymore. Also I don't want to ask for it back. I am planning to have a registry at babies r us with those things. So its like another way of letting the in laws know that I need it without asking them directly. So those that make me look tacky?
Michelle - I know what you mean about the hand me down stuff. For the breastpump it is not sanitary as long as you sanitize it before you use it. I let my sister in law use mines which she ended up breaking it so thats another thing I will need. But if you feel uncomfortable using it just take it and don't use it. Just to be nice and not say no, they will think you are unappreciative. Hope that helps.
Last night I was feeling a little down. I was very anxious to meet that baby and I wanted the baby here already. So I started crying and I was also watching tv and everything made me cry. Maybe it was because I was all alone. Ok hope today is better. I'll check in later bye.

Michelle- thanks for the info. My dr wont touch me there as far as a biposy b/c with the increased blood, it might bleed too much. I just hope it doesn't get worse. I want to have another child and I don't want anything to jeopardize that.
Dolly- I get down too. I get so upset that I can't hold my baby. I feel him kicking and I just want to meet him already. We only have 4 months to go. Before we know it Spring will be here and so will our babies!
Dh and I are going to see the Lifehouse concert tonight in NYC. I hope they find seating for us. I can't stand long and this concert is standing room only. DH told them I was pg and that I can't stand long and they said to come early to try and reserve a seat in the back. I hope we can still see. I love this band. I hope the loud music doesn't hurt the baby's ears.
Dh finally got home last night from a week long work trip. I feel so much better that he is home. I was so lonely. I feel safe when he is here. All week long I felt something bad was going to happen and he wouldn't be here. I am so nervous that something might happen to the baby. I know it's stupid to think negatively, but I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to my little guy. Now I am getting all emotional. Maybe it's these damn hormones!

Mimi - For some reason I been feeling cramps and I was afraid that baby wanted to come out already. Wow we are feeling the same thing. The loud music won't hurt as long as your not standing in front of the speaker. Which I know you won't be doing that. LOL These hormones are just too much for us to handle right now. I am so excited for this time to past so we can meet the little person kicking up a storm in our stomach.
I'm gonna go nap now and hopefully don't think too much. I don't want to anticipate the birth too much, I know I have plenty of time when I am out of work and sitting at home and constantly on this bored with you ladies. LOL

Dolly- i try not to think of the birth, labor and delivery. I just keep telling myself I am in good hands with my dr, and he is high risk. I have faith in him that he will take care of me.
My dh still can't feel the baby. This little peanut is playing a joke on us! He will slam me one minute with a hard kick and then when dh tries to feel he stops. Then as soon as he takes his hand off my belly, peanut slams me again! I think he has my dh's personality. playful and teasing!!!!
I went to the Lifehouse concert last night and it was standing only. So the club owners were so nice to put us in the VIP section with tables and seats since i am pg. However, the stage was on the lower level and you had to stand by the ledge and look down to see them. SO the bouncer put the table and chairs up against the ledge so I can get up and sit whenever i wanted. Well, this family with 3 kids kept crowding us. Then when dh got up to go to the restroom this friend of theirs who bought her three girls (came late) asked If i could move the table so her kids could see. First of all, many other fans were behind me and couldn't see, second, that is why my table is there so I can see!!!! She saw the bouncer put it there. Then the husband came over and asked me to move the table, i said no I am pregnant and I need to sit and get up to see when I want. He starts moving the table towards my belly and crushing my belly! His sons move over and take over the spot! I was so mad!! What trash! My dh comes back and is pissed b/c they waited til dh got up and left to take advantage! I told dh not to start anything because they looked trashy and it wasn't worth it with me being pg. If I wasn't i would've got in his face! So i got up and pushed the little kid aside and sqeezed in. DH could barely see! What rude people. These kids were young and didn't even know the songs! I would never ask anyone to move thier reserved table in the VIP. Esp someone pregnant and then to move the table into my belly when I said no. I Should've gotten the bouncer, they were so nice to me. But I didn't want to risk that these people were hoodlums. Sorry to ramble, but it was so rude that It was hard for me to enjoy the concert esp. since dh couldn't see b/c of these idiots and their 6 kids who came late. We waited outside in the rain for an hour and they waltz in late and expect to cut everyone!
We are going to get the crib and changing table in a little bit. SO EXCITED! Check in later!
By the way, lifehouse was amazing. You ladies should check out the music!! They were awesome live too. They have 3 albums all great!!!

Mimi - For some reason I don't think this little girl wants to stay in here any longer. I think last night I was having BH. My stomach was so tight. Then DD decided again she wanted to sleep with us. LOL Oh the little one has been kicking so much that her dad and her sister was able to feel it if there hand was on my stomach. She is so strong sometimes it hurts when she is moving around and adjusting her body. Right now her big head on is my bladder. I feel her a lot down below. I don't know but she really likes it down there. I hardly feel her kick my ribs. I'm sorry to hear about your concert experience last night. Some people are just rude and not considerate of other people.
Hope everyone is enjoying there weekend. Check in later.

Hi everyone -
Dolly: I love the name Alyssa!! Hang in there - these emotional highs and lows are tough.
Mimi: Glad to hear things are going well! How much fun to have begun your shopping. I know you are glad to have your dh home. Mine flew up for the weekend and I didnt' realize how much I missed him until I saw him or how hard it was for him to go until he left. I started to fall into a meltdown, just overwhelmed with everything - the training, the test results, living out of a hotel, missing my family, etc. We knelt down and said a prayer and it was comforting.
Dana: I have found that I swell up also - at my 15wk appt I asked my dr about it and he said essentially what Mimi said.
Tomorrow is the earliest we can find out the test results on the amnio. Everything just has to come back okay - I don't know how to handle any other answer. I called on Friday to see if by some miracle the results were in and they said to try back on Monday but most likely we are looking at Thursday or Friday. I feel like emotionally this whole pregnancy has been put on hold and won't begin again until these results - positive results come in.
We are just settling in to watch the Super Bowl and then back to training tomorrow. I'll try and check in again later!!

Natalie - I think if they were positive test results or something was wrong with the babies, I think your doctor would have received it already. Well thats how I see it anyway. The name Alyssa just came to me naturally and DBF really liked it and we just stuck too it. Then we couldn't find a boys name. LOL
I had a sudden urge to clean so I cleaned the closet threw some stuff out. I just cleaned the area that was cluttered. Since we won't have a nursery and we'll be sharing a room with DD #2 I was thinking of clearing out the computer which we don't use anyway. We use the laptop. I was going to clear that area and use it as a changing area. That task I will conquer next week because I was already tired and just had woken up from a nap. After I clean up the changing area then I am done. We'll be ready for baby. The only thing is we just need a bassinet for the baby to sleep temporarily.
I noticed when I eat spicy food DD does not like it at all. So you know what happens. LOL Well I am stinky and need to clean the living room because of DD #1 who made a mess earlier. I will jump in the shower after and probably go to my MIL's for dinner. Keep us posted Natalie.

hi june mommies
**Hope everyone is feeling good**
Wanted to ask if anyone is begining to feel tired kind of
like in the first trimester? A couple of days ago I was craving an oreo cookie shake from Jack in the box and after I had about half I started feeling dizzy and sick probably to much sugar has this happened to anyone else. Also another question my cousin is about 32 wks and has been having brown discharge on/off (probably old blood) does any one know what that could be about.
I sometimes can't get to the computer everyday, when I get home Im exhausted!

Alexa- I too, am tired like the first trimester these past few weeks. I was so grumpy yesterday b/c I was over tired. I cannot eat sweets anymore. They make my heart race and pump out of my chest. They also make me lightheaded. My body cannot handle the sugar. I cannot even drink decaf anything- same thing happens.
Nchill- I am sure your dr got the preliminary report. My friend had 3 amnio's on all 3 kids and later found out from her dr that if it was bad news, the lab gets the results to the dr right away and the dr will contact you right away. So i think everything is fine or they would've definately called you by now.
Dollyface- I too, cleaned out the guest room a little where the baby will be. I feel like the baby will be here before we know it and We need to get ready. Even though, dh thinks I am crazy b/c we have 4 months. And speaking of meltdowns, I had another one yesterday. I was in the nursery cleaning out and I started crying and dh came in and thought I was nuts. I said, that I just wanted to hold the baby. I felt so lonely b/c the baby isn't here. I wish it were JUne right now. I think I was over tired too. I just went to bed early b/c all I did was whine and cry yesterday.
We ordered the crib. It is so beautiful. My in-laws paid a lot for it. They bought the mattress too. Dh and I bought the changing table. The changing tables are more expensive than the crib. The table I wanted was $649. I decided to get one on sale for $479. That was the cheapest. It's nice but I really wanted the other one. But I could see dh getting nervous about all the money we have spent on the nursery so far. SO I gave in and got the cheaper one. I still have to buy my chair which will cost almost $400. So I figure, I better be more conservative with the amount of money we are spending. I think dh and I will start moving out the furniture in the nursery so dh can paint while I am gone. I will be gone Wednesday night til Friday night for business. This way the paint fumes won't bother me. Then we will start on the chair rail. The furniture should be in by April. YAY!!!!
Hope everyone is well. I have to get ready for work. Catch up later!

Hi everyone ~ I haven't been on for a while because one of my daughters had walking pnemonia and an ear infection. Fun, Fun, Fun!
I, too, have noticed that I have been really tired again like the first trimester. I could hardly get myself to go work out on Saturday. But the weird thing is that at night I can hardly fall asleep! I just lay there watching T.V. for hours. If I turn it off my mind just won't stop!
Anyone else still working out? I have been finding it harder and harder to keep my HR under 140. I really have had to slow down a lot.
Dolly ~ I love the name Alyssa!
Mimi ~ It is so fun picking out new furniture! Did you get the type of crib that turns into a full size bed? And is your changing table a dresser as well?
I will try to catch up more tonight!

Hi ladies,
Haven't checked in in awhile and everyone has such fun stuff going on! We had a very productive weekend...we cleared out the guest room/office which will be the nursery, and DH started painting it! Of course, now he's on a kick to refinish the floors in there too, and it's turning into 10 projects instead of 1! Oh well, such is the life when you own an older home! I know we have a lot of time, but sadly DH needs to have major back surgery soon, and we don't know the date yet b/c it's awaiting approval by insurance, so I'm sure he'll be out of commission for at least a month following the surgery. We're both feeling the pressure to get stuff done before then, but he's the type who is a perfectionist so just painting over something he doesn't like won't work for him, he has to REBUILD the whole thing to be happy. When I went to bed last night he was talking about re-sheet rocking the ceiling in there, and by this morning he was talking about sheet rocking the walls too! I'm like "what happened in the 7 hours we were sleeping?" I know, there are worse things I could complain about than this, but I'm just anxious to get it done.
Dana and others-I had my dr.'s appointment on Friday, and everything looks good. I've been swelling a lot too, esp. my hands lately, and my dr. said that my blood pressure is great so she's not concerned at all. Just the usual recommendations...drink a lot of water, elevate your feet at night, etc. Of course, being the paranoid person I am I always think "oh my god, it's preeclampsia" the moment I swell!
I actually didn't gain anything between last month's appointment and this one, which is great b/c I went into the pg. overweight. I've gained a total of 13 lbs. since the beginning, and since I'd like to keep my gain to 30 lbs. that's good news. The dr. said no problems since the belly is growing, but doesn't want me to go 2 visits with no weight gain, so I'm feeling pretty psyched.
Other than that, all is well.
Nchill-I have been through the tortured wait after my CVS and it's miserable, but keep reminding yourself that your odds are very good and that the vast majority of women get good news after their amnio, and these are women who had reason to have an amnio to begin with!! Hang in there.
Dolly-I LOVE Alyssa...it's beautiful and elegant and sweet. Thumbs up on that one.
Hope everyone who was sick is feeling better...have an awesome day! best, tigerlove

Thanks for the name compliment. I really love it.
Alexa I woke up dizzy this morning I don't know if it was because I couldn't sleep last night or what? Last night I was feeling so weird. I couldn't find a perfect position to sleep in so I was tossing and turning. Then I was cramping a little and I was so scared that baby was trying to come out. So maybe I am dizzy because my lack of sleep but I am going to nap now since I got the laundry done.
I also called in my work to see if someone can take my place tomorrow just in case I am feeling under the weather. I was so active this weekend maybe I over worked myself. But I just wanted to get everything done so when its time for me to relax and get ready for the baby I am not running around trying to get stuff for baby and setting the room up. So I guess everyone is feeling the same way with the energy and getting ready for baby. Thats good because you never know what might happen. Its better to be ready now then to wait last minute.
Ok I have to vent now. I don't know if I am going to sound jealous or selfish but every sunday we have dinner at my MIL. So ever since my SIL had the baby we haven't had dinner upstairs. They live downstairs so when MIL is done cooking she brings everything down because SIL can't go upstairs with the baby? I'm wondering why not? Because half the time he is awake letting them carry him around. My MIL is not working at the time so she is downstairs with the baby. Most of the time I go over there I see him in her arms. Knowing my MIL she goes down there on her own but then on the weekend when she needs to go groceries or her errands she can't because she gets stuck. Those are some of the things that bothers me. How my BIL does things or should I say manipulate my MIL to do things for his convinence. I hope you ladies are understand what I'm feeling. I wish I can tell you the whole story but I don't want to bore you and then it'll take up all the room.
BTW did you ladies see how many pages we have used up already. Well I am going to nap now. I had a hard time getting on this morning thats why I barely got on now.

Hi Ladies - Sounds like everyone has been so busy. I had a busy weekend. We, too, started painting the baby's room. Well DH did, I didn't. I am away this week for work and he said that by the time I get home on Thursday evening he may be done painting. Can you imagine? I will be so excited.
My DH is too quite ambitious to the point that one project turns into a dozen. I guess I should not complain, afterall, it would be worse if he wasn't interested.
It sounds like everyone is doing good. Nchill, sounds like training is keeping your mind off of everything. Make sure you post if you hear something.
I am away this week for work. I hate it. I am the only one that is from out of town, which means the evenings are kind of lonely. I guess I should enjoy the quiet!
I will be away next week too. So much for Valentine's Day. I was going to suggest doing something nice for once, since this will be the last one baby free.
Well, my room service is here. I am going to go eat. I will talk with everyone soon. With more personals I hope!

hi everybody,
First of all Welcome Karen, Im sure you will find the loving
support all women need at this special time in our lives.
Mimican have you had the glucose test, when the dr. gives
an orange soda like drink and test you an hour after drinking it. Im scared that with our symptoms we might
be having gestational diabetes? I also cannot eat sweets
at all, I havebeen having palpitations for about 3 wks
now. Next week Im sched. for that nasty glucose test
Dolly be very careful with the cramping it seems like its
lingered longer than it should have you called you dr.
A little cramping is normal well with all the stretching going on in there. Yet my dr. has me going to see him
when the cramping last more than a couple of
days or if it gets to uncomfortable. With my DS I had to
be on Breathine medication( to stop contractions)and bed
rest the last 4 months baby wanted to come out!
Tigerlover, your DH sounds very excited about the nursery!!

Karen, welcome- the women here are very supportive and can answer just about all your questions. Feel free to ask away!
Dollyface- Just know that everyone's family gets on their nerves at some point. It never ends. I just vent and let it go now. We have too much going on with our bodies and keeping these babies safe, it's not worth it. Just know you will be the happiest women alive in 4 months. I am not getting any cramping, just more gas! I have been constipated again. Thank god my cold went away but I still feel stuffy, i think that will last til I give birth!
Alexa- I am not going to worry about gestational diabetes. My heart beats faster now that I am pg all the time. Adding sugar or caffeine will definately make it beat faster. Some women don't even feel their heart racing more than usual. I do, so anything I add to it like sugar, will make it beat faster. My mom, all her life, could never drink any caffeine or decaf, or sugar without her heart racing. I used to get that sometimes with sugar before I was pg. I doubt if that means we will have gestational diabetes. I think it only happens in 2% of pregnant women anyway. I will do some research on it, but I am not going to worry about it. Neither should you. I think we go at 28 weeks for that test. YUCH!
Dh is cleaning out the bedroom tonight so he can start painting tomorrow night when I leave. YAY! I like to supervise, but I do not want to be around the paint fumes. Gotta hop on a conference call. Hope all is well.

Alexa- I just researched a little. 4% are effected. Risk factors are 1. family history of diabetes 2. over age 25 3. obesity 4. african american, hispanic 5. previous pregnancy with gestational diabetes. 6. high blood pressure
They say to get exercise and watch your weight and sugar intake.
For me: I have no risk factors except that I am over 25yrs. I exercise, watch my weight and thankfully, I do not crave sugar at all. I have to worry about my salt intake although my blood pressure is low.
So, they say there are no symptoms of gestational diabetes. So i don't think we are at any greater risks b/c we cannot tolerate sugar easily. As long as you don't have many risk factors, you should be fine. Although, you don't always have to have risk factors to have gestational diabetes.
So do not worry, we can't worry about everything. We could drive ourselves crazy thinking about all the things that could go wrong

Welcome Laurie!
Alexa - My cramping stopped. Then over the weekend I had a burst of energy then Sunday night I couldn't sleep until 2 in the morning. So I finally got to sleep and woke up dizzy and decided maybe I won't go in for work today but later on Monday night I felt better. So I decided to go to sleep early and I woke up at 5 in the morning to pee and couldn't sleep until 45 mins later. Then I woke up real tired this morning and still dizzy. I'm thinking maybe I might be anemic. So we'll see. My next appt is on the 20th if I get more tired I'll call in and tell them whats going on.
Mimi - Thanks for the words of encouragement about my family. Yeah sometimes it bothers me but it shouldn't but this is the people I have to live with the rest of my life and is going to be a part of my kids lives. It's just sad how family would take advantage of other family members. But oh well I vented so I feel better.
Ok I am going to watch my soaps then try to nap. I go to work tomrrow for a couple of hours. I'm getting my hours cut which I do and don't mind because I need the money but on the other hand I can't work too much. I have to find something to do at home for awhile and then try to bake stuff to sell at home. Ok ladies check in later if I do wake up. LOL

Happy Tuesday to everyone.
Dolly - I hope that you start feeling better soon. I worry about the cramping that you are experiencing.
Mimi - Are you going on a trip? I could have missed that in another post. Hubbies are great. I am away this week for work and DH is painting so that I don't have to worry about the fumes. I just have to laugh. We will never get this treatment for baby #2.
So what is our count of boys and girls now. I keep losing track.
I see that Nchill has not checked in with us. I wonder if she has heard anything from the doctor.
I have to tell you, I looked in the mirror today and I think that I got huge overnight. Maybe it is the pants I had on today but wow!
I am nervous about the GD test that you girls were talking about. Not so much about the results, but drinking the actual stuff. I wanted to ask, after you drink the orange drink, do you have to sit at the hospital for an hour or can you leave? I think that is going to be so boring.
Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone. Have a good night. I may be lurking for awhile.

karen- welcome hope to see more of you!
Dollyface- I wish I could cut back on my hours!!! I am so tired of working and the stress. I am as tired as I was in the first trimester.
LML- i have to go to Connecticut for work for a couple of days. I leave tomorrow and come back on Friday night so I wont be here for a couple of days. I don't want to drink that stuff either for the test. I heard it is gross. I get to do my test in the dr's office. I wish I were here to supervise the painting but I can't be around the fumes.
I am off to watch American Idol.
Dollyface
02/07/2006, 09:49 PM
LML - I'm not too worried about the cramps because that passed. I just woke up from my nap and I still feel so tired. I feel so tired and horrible.
Mimi - I think I am feeling what you are feeling. So exhausted. I was feeling so horrible earlier before falling asleep. I hope I don't sound like a bad person when I tell you I was thinking how I hate to have all these feelings. I'm so tired of being pregnant I just want time to pass so fast. I wish the baby was here already. Maybe I'll feel better after I shower.
Ok ladies I'll be lurking. Let me go shower and wash all these bad negative feelings away.

Hey Ladies.. sorry I've been MIA for awhile.. just a busy week at work and at home while DH was off skiing.. I got busy cleaning the soon to be nursery too...like some of you.. I only got the paint samples and put up a few swatches as a test.. I took down the blinds and washed them, wiped down all the woodwork and then put up the new valances that match the crib bedding.. very cute.. simple.
Enough about me.. Welcome Laurie and if I didn't congratulate you Karen - congrats on your girl!!
Wonder what's up with Natalie - I'm so anxious to hear about her amnio.. I agree with you all who said IF there was something to worry about, she would have heard by now.. I'm sure all is well..
Dolly, Mimi, Tiger.. As for the swelling I had.. (thanks for all your input BTW) - I went to the doc on Monday this week and it had already gone down after resting over the weekend and drinking a ton of water... my blood pressure was 110/60, so that's pretty good (even on the low side, but I've always been that way) The appointment went well.. I only gained 3 lbs since last month - for a total of 18 lbs so far.. I'm very comfortable with that... hope to keep up the gradual gain, and not pack it on in the end.. oh-well - whatever it is.. I just want to have a healthly baby!
Also, Mimi - I'm thinking of sitting down with my boss and discussing the maternity thing in alittle more detail with her.. it's such a small company that there are no real set guidelines and she literally makes it up as she goes.. Maybe she'd be willing to give me "something" - plus I'm going to ask that she pays in my "share" of the health benefits so I don't have to cut HER a check every month while I'm out.. how ridiculous would THAT be!? I should be able to get her to at least agree on that.. I'm seriously thinking of not going back to work afterwards.. if we can swing it.. Part time to try and get benefits may be a necessity though.. Crazy how the state of CT does NOTHING though.. I just heard on the radio about how many billions of dollars the CT lottery has made for the state.. "to make it a better place to live for everyone".. BS.. I feel like writing to the state and saying .. What about NEW mothers!!?! where's the support for us!?! ok - enough venting.. thanks.
Dolly - Hope you're feeling better.. wondering how you did with the registry thing? I went to target too, but they didn't have as much.. Don't feel bad about asking for specific things!?? Isn't there someone, like your mom or a cousin who if you 'mention' it to.. they'll spread the word to others.. just plant the seed.. somebody will get the hint.. Oh, and I wanted to mention about you feeling like it's a boy.. I swear, I feel the opposite too - like it will come out a girl - the HB is fast (148 - 152) and I'm not feeling as much movement as I hear everyone else feeling with their boys!?? I'm confused.. Can't wait for my 30 week u/s to 'verify' their original findings.. I'm saving all my receipts for the stuff I've bought (for boy) just in case too!! wouldn't that be a hoot!
Ok, I'll close it up soon, I promise.. just been a while and wanted to catch up... Speaking of cribs and dressers and other purchases.. I think we found what we wanted as far as a crib and dresser.. (the kind that convert) and it happens to be in stock!! Also, I went with my girlfriend this weekend and I picked up the stroller my Mom will be getting for me.. (she's coming end of March for my shower and wanted me to pick it up) - I love it! - I assembled it myself and played with it to get used to all the little features.. (Graco - metrolite).. also picked up a barely used swing (in the sage color I love) from another friend who wasn't using it.. I cleaned it all up nice and it's perfect! I really feel like I'm getting a nice little collection of things now.. as this rate, I'll have everything set by early April!!
OK - I'm off.. missed you guys.. take care..
Dana

Wow sounds everyone is or will be ready for baby come May.
Dana - You sound like me when your doubting about returning back to work at all or right away. I swear about my feelings that I'm having doubts about it being a girl. I am just scared that it will pop out to be a boy. LOL Well I'm hoping to verify it with the 3d u/s when I'm 27 wks. I don't plan on buying clothes yet until after my baby shower. Or until I'm confident its a specific gender. Plus we still have some of our DD's clothes she can use first. But in my registry I picked out a lot of pink stuff hopefully I don't have to change it to blue.
Ok gotta make this short gotta get ready for work. Take care ladies. I feel better emotionally but not physically. Still tired and need more sleep.

Hi all...
Congrats on the girl, Karen! Do you have names picked out?
Welcome Laurie!
Dolly, is the 3d ultrasound something your dr. ordered or are you going to one of those places where you can pay for it for fun? I'm just curious about these...I'd love to have one but I doubt it's something that's going to be ordered unless I need it, but I'd love to know if other drs. are ordering it.
It's funny how we're all "nesting" about the same time...I guess we're feeling like it's all sinking in what's coming and now we need to make our homes ready.
Last night in the middle of the night our dog was wimpering like crazy...we think she has Lyme's disease again (she had it 2 years ago with the same sudden onset of symptoms) and will have to go on antibiotics. We were both up with her at 2:30 trying to get her to take a pill and see how she was doing, and when we finally got back to bed DH and I were like "I guess this is a small snapshot of what life will be like in a few months." Funny, I was nowhere near as tired as I would have been 6 months ago getting up in the middle of the night; I can't figure out if that's nature preparing me for the real deal or just because I'm used to getting up every hour these days to pee overnight anyway!!
Hope everyone has a great day....hope we hear from Natalie soon also. Best, tigerlove

Yes, we do- Jayden Rose. We are so excited. I am actually starting to look pregnant too. I love looking at my belly!!
How are you doing?

We all are kind of nesting. It is funny.
I think it is really true, that now it is starting to sink in more and more. I keep trying to block out the fact that labor and delivery is the ultimate point that we need to face to finally meet these little ones. Does anyone else get nervous about that? I do.
I feel so big these days. I just feel very large and in charge, imagine what I will feel like in a few months!
Dana - I think I chose the same stroller in my registry! How fun.
I can't wait until this day is over, I am so exhausted today! Oh well, talk soon.
dana.hope4baby
02/08/2006, 03:31 PM
hey girls.. just wanted to comment on a couple things..
Lml - if it's the same stroller.. you'll love it.. My girlfriend went with me and we tested out the "ease" of folding it up and there's only one button at the top that releases the whole thing.. it literally takes less than 30 seconds to fold! and only 18 lbs (without the infant seat) - I would recommend registering for and extra infant seat "base" - for the second car (husband, babysitter etc..) that way you don't have to un-do the base everytime you switch cars.. just click the baby in and away you go!
I too am starting to realize this is really happening! although I had a dis-heartening conversation with my dh last night and we practically got in a huge fight over the topic of parenting.. looking back on it, it just got very emotional and I honestly think DH is scared s**t-less about becoming a dad and he was just speaking out of fear.. we made up this morning, but I'm still alittle shaken up about it cause he basically sounded like he wasn't happy about the baby.. I can't imagine that's REALLY how he feels.. I again, just think he's scared and perhaps started feeling overwhelmed with the upcoming responsibility.. I just prayed about it and hope he will adjust to the whole thing.. anyway, I'm rambling....sorry...
Hey - on a fun note.. I see we can attach files to our posts.. I'm going to try to attach a 22 week belly picture!! hope it works.. I still need to go back and figure out how to get my ticker to stay on my signature block..
ok - off for now..
Danielle
02/08/2006, 04:01 PM
With everyone nesting, I thought that I would share some pictures of my DS's bedroom from before he was born. We won't be decorating for this little one seeing as how this is our third and he will be sharing a room for a while. Poor thing, he is already getting ripped off as the third child ;)
Glad to hear everyone is doing so well.

02/08/2006, 04:38 PM
Wow its so wonderful how we are experiencing the same thing.
Tiger - This is the 3d u/s where its for fun. I'm not sure if I'll get another u/s at my doctors office. Maybe one more at 30wks. It just cost too much so I figure they only do it if they really need it.
Karen - I know what you mean about looking pregnant. I am looking more pregnant also and loving it.
I did not want to wake up this morning. I have such a hard time waking up now for work. Sometimes I just feel so lazy to go to work but I only have like 7 weeks left to work and hoping I can make it. Ok I'm gonna go take a nap now. I'll be lurking around.

Karen- I wanted to name my girl Jayden Rose too! But we having a boy, maybe next baby!
Dana- I am definately bigger than you in the belly. I just popped again 2 days ago. It's like overnight. I am waiting for my camera to come back from repair and then I will get a pic on here. Does your dh have medical benefits you can go under? I think by law your company has to pay for your medical. I did research it for you. Print it out and show your employer. I am not going back to my company! I have hated them for over a year but didn't want to switch in the middle of being preggo. I want to stay home but doesn't look like dh can find a better paying job right now. I might have to go back after 6 months, hope to find a job then. I will have to put the baby in daycare which i do not want to do. Why do you think your dh is scared? I know mine is nervous about me not going back to work. He is worried about finances. Our parents made it through and we will figure out a way to also.
Dolly- why are you second guessing the sex? Did you see a little pee-pee on the u/s? I did, clear as day. You would've seen it!! Are you getting the 3d u/s at 27 weeks? I wish I could repeat mine. The pictures came out bad.
Tigerlove- sorry about your dog. I know my mom's puppy that we were watching a year ago at our house had a tick that dh removed and b/c we don't leave in deer country they said not to worry about lyme disease. I felt so bad for the puppy.
LML-I popped again and my belly looks huge now. It's getting harder for me to get in and out of my car. I need to all day b/c I drive around for my sales job all day. I will get weighed in 2 weeks. Last appt I gained 12 lbs. I might be up to 15-18lbs by now. But thank god, it's all belly.
Danielle- cute pictures. I can't wait to start decorating the nursery. When I have it done i will post pictures.
I feel the baby moving almost all day long now. He is kicking harder too! I jump sometimes. This morning my dh set off the alarm by mistake and I was slepping and the baby's whole body jumped and I screamed b/c It felt like the baby was going to jump out of my belly. Poor thing got startled.
My in laws brought baby pictures of dh over and we compared it to the 3d picture of the baby. They look like twins! So this baby will look like dh. I was hoping he would look like me at least a little bit! Well, I pray our next child, hopefully a girl, will look like me.
I have to pack for my 2 night stay in Conn. for business. I decided to leave later with another co-worker so I could have dinner with dh tonight. Besides I hate most of the people I work with (mostly management) and I want to be around them as little as possible. Can't wait til Friday. I will miss you girls. Maybe someone should start a new thread, this one is taking too long.

Glad to hear of your little baby boy!!! I am due on the 27th and had an ultrasound last week. I have a more advanced one next Thursday at 21 weeks. My doctor doesn't like to tell the sex, though I secretly think he can't tell. I am hoping we will be able to see this time.
Was it very obvious to you and DH, or did the doctor tell you?
My ultrasound last week was very basic and w/ an old machine. He only did it to measure the baby's head. I haven't gained any weight and am small. I guess he was worried. But I did the same thing w/ DD, gained it all in the last few months.
Here's hoping for a crotch shot!

Laurie -
We couldn't tell the sex, but the doctor had no trouble!! In fact, it was funny because one she identified him as a boy, he wouldn't show her anything else....she would try to meaure something and he would flip around and give her another penis shot!!

02/09/2006, 09:32 AM
congrats Lynne on your baby boy!! Man, how many is that now for June!?
Mimi - I will definately research more on the medical.. my husband is in his own business (sub-contractor/carpentry), so no medical options there unless we pay for private insurance.. which I want to check into, but I want to focus on other things for now.. otherwise, I'll just worry about it too much. I think DH is just the type of person who, when overwhelmed with a new responsibility (mainly financial) - he panics.. besides the fact that he's a perfectionist - he was probably worried about being the "perfect" dad - that will throw anyone into a tizzy. He admitted to me last night that he was just thinking too much about everything and was feeling overwhelmed... he was kissing me and my belly last night and talking to the baby, so I know he's better... poor guy.. he beats himself up sometimes with his unrealistic expectations of himself.. he'll be a great dad. Glad to hear you'll be able to stay home.. how great... it's not good to stay at a place your not happy at anyways.. everything works out for a reason.. just as you're about ready to go back, something will come up for you that even better than the last job! (that's how I believe anyways..) good luck on the business trip....
Can't wait to see more belly pictures!! - come on ladies - get those cameras going! Nice nursery pics Danielle.. very cute.. we talked more last night about colors and themes etc.. so excited to get that done...
Tiger - sorry about your dog... that's sad to see them suffer.. we have friends who's dog had lymes and the new antibiotic they got worked wonders for him.. hope they give you the good stuff..
I'm so jealous you guys are feeling the baby SO much!! I swear, I have a big-time sleeper.. either that or he's turned around so the kicks are internal.. everytime I put the monitor on, I hear the activity - but I don't necessarily feel it.. I'd say I only have about 2-3 really active times during the day.. (which really are just some kicks and what feels like rolling around...) and they only last about 20 mins or so... I'm 24 weeks - shouldn't there be more activity??
sorry, gotta run.. work is calling...
check in with ya later..

It might be a good idea to start a new thread, although this new setup is so user friendly for skipping right to the end!
Thanks for everyone's well wishes on our dog...the vet confirmed the Lyme's and she's on antibiotics, and last night she was her usual self again. DH and I love her so much it's scary when something goes wrong...his last dog (same breed) died at 6 of cancer so he's so nervous about that all the time, and this one is almost 5, so it freaks him out whenever she's not well. Living in deer country can suck sometimes!
I love the name Jayden Rose...lovely!
It does seem like the boys are outnumbering the girls here...maybe that means those of us who are "unknown" are more likely having girls?
Dana, I don't feel much movement either, and I discussed it with my dr. last week...I'll be 23 weeks tomorrow. She said not to worry at all unless it's not increased by the next visit (which is 1 month away!)...she said some women just don't feel much until later, esp. with their 1st. Based on how much this baby moves whenever we've had an u/s, she said "be careful what you wish for." In fact, when I was there she was getting the hb with the Doppler but just when she'd get it the baby would move, and she'd have to chase her/him down to get it! I didn't feel the baby moving at that point but it definitely was! So, hard as it is, I'm trying to reassure my self that all will be fine there!
I'm definitely showing, no doubt about it, and I too feel huge. Sometimes I wonder how my belly can POSSIBLY get bigger, but of course we have all the way to June!!! Yegads! best, tigerlove

Lynn - congrats on the baby boy. Wow! All the boys!
Danielle - I like the nursery, I think it looks really cute!
I am finally go home today from my trip and I am so happy. My DH and I usually don't do much for one another for V-Day, but when we registered, he REALLY wanted a carrier for the baby, so we registered for one. I guess there are limited quantities available, so I decided to stop on the way home and buy it for him to wrap up. Does that sound corny? I just thought, it is the one thing that means a lot to him, so this is an excuse to do it.
I have to come back next week. I will be exhausted by the end of next week.
I am going to have to start taking pictures of my belly and posting them along with you guys. I feel so huge these days!
Talk to everyone soon.

Tiger - hey, thanks for the input.. I feel better now.. I've been trying to pay more attention to the movements I am feeling and it's definitely "internal" - infact I feel the occasional bladder kick too.. I'm sure he's fine- thanks again... funny how I go to the doctor and don't really have alot of questions or even complaints - guess that's what I do HERE!! LOL
Anyways.. need to run for now... I'll check in later...
take care all,

I love seeing the pictures! I will have to dig out my camera!
Danielle what kind of rocker do you have in your nursery?
Last night I was hanging out with my brother for hour and a half and the baby had not moved all day. Then DH came and put his hand on my belly and said "how's my little one" and the baby gave a huge kick! We both looked at eachother in awe. It was really strange and so sweet. I think it made DH happy. He kept talking to it and it kept kicking.
I'm glad everyone is well. I sometimes get sharp momentary pains in my V. It scares me a little.
We are really confused about names.
It seems hard to find boys names that are strong unique and versatile..

Hello everyone!
Almost through another week here in Minneapolis. It is snowing again - very cold. I am used to Florida weather:).
I got my results this morning...EVERYTHING IS JUST GREAT!!! It was such a relief. It was great to know that these little girls (and they are definately girls) are just fine - NO PROBLEMS!!
I am just stopping in on my way to study for a test...who knew I'd have tests?!? This is like being in college again - case studies, presentations, memorization and this is on top of actually being able to create all of Dairy Queen's gazillion desserts with the right weights, right toppings, right spoon, etc. It really is amazing how much detail and emphasis they have on their products. It also makes it frustrating when you see other franchises abusing the rules & cutting corners which drag down the brand name.
I am so glad to hear everyone is doing well - the one thing I want to try and do is update our list. It will be neat to see where we are on the boys vs. girls!

Natalie - First off let me say what a relief that everything is fine Natalie! I knew there was nothing wrong it was just that maybe the fact that you had two babies in there and it was just confusing I guess.
Ok why am I the only person with a girl on June 4th? LOL
Sorry if I missed someone but it seems like I missed out a lot.
Michelle - That was cute what happened when your DH put his hands on your belly and the baby kicked.
Tiger - About starting the new thread I not sure if we're having trouble with this one because how its user friendly and you have the option of going to the lastest post. But I wouldn't mind if someone did start a new one.
Dana - Don't worry about the movement sooner or later you will be complaining how the kicks are so strong and keeping you up. Like it did for me last night. I wasn't in a deep sleep but I felt something squirming inside when I would turn sides because I am not a side sleeper. It was so weird the first night I had kind of a good sleep except for that.
Ok last night I was on an emotional roller coaster. I got in trouble for yelling at my DD so much that I felt like I was being cornered. Then I started crying. Then my DBF saw and he was like gosh your so sensitive and he knew I was mad at him. Then he tried to kiss my butt. LOL Which was cute because he doesn't know how to say it in words but just physically. Today I worked almost 5 hours and I am so tired. Tomorrrow I will work probably only 2, 3 hours. I will go lay down now and rest. I will come back on later hopefully I won't miss too much. I will take another belly pix at 25wks.

HI Ladies,
Hope everyone is having a super Friday!!!! And feeling well! :)
OK....WARNING...ANGRY PREGNANT LADY ON A RAMPAGE!!!
I get zero interest in my pregnancy from my in-laws. I used to write on fertilitext under kimichristy...I had mentioned there that they were overly concerned about weight gain. They all kept saying I would have a low-weight or unhealthy baby...even though my doctor was not concerned.
NOW they do not call, ask any questions or show a tiny bit of interest. My SIL had her baby 2 weeks ago. She got quite ill and had to be in the hospital for 10 days. The baby is fine, a little girl. But I seriously will call to ask about her and the baby and they act like I am not even PG!!! I sent her flowers, cards, baby clothes...nothing seems to help w/ how they feel towards me.
A few days ago, I called to see if she needed anything. She knew I had had an ultrasound. She didn't ask how the baby was. Instead she said,
"I hate you for not getting big and I don't need to even know what the sex is. You will have a boy, because I wanted a boy and ended up w/ a girl. Also, it's not normal to go to the gym while pregnant."
Whatever. I am sick to death of her. I have decided to just live and let live. I will just not mention anything to DH's family any more...as if they would care!
My sisters are throwing me a shower in 4 weeks. I wish DH's family were not coming. I'm sure they will all sit and make comments about my waistline and eating habits.
Since when did you have to gain 70 pounds to have a healthy pregnancy?
SORRY TO BE COMPLAINING! I AM FEELING BITTER TODAY! :(

AWESOME NEWS NATALIE!! So glad to hear all is fine with your girls.. what a relief!!:p again, just goes to show that those initial tests certainly can't be trusted 100% - more like a 50/50 ratio.. geez.. wish they could figure out a better way so to avoid all the worry for us ladies.. Anyway - so happy for you! Enjoy the rest of your trip and good luck on the training/tests - test?? who would have thought??
kim - you go right ahead and vent girl... man, I'd be alittle upset too.. what is it with the inlaws (or as I call them - the OUTLAWS) and their destructive opinions.. you'd think for their son's sake, they'd make more of an effort to support you and be excited instead of critical.. They are just jealous of you and how graceful you are handling this pregnancy.. that's it! - just "detach" (I love that word.. ) - no sense taking on anything stressful at this time.. just walk with your head held high.. and enjoy your pregancy!! Hope you have an awesome shower - sounds like you have plenty of other people around you to make a fuss over you!! ignore the outlaws... oh and good luck on your u/s next week!
Well, nothing really new on this end with me.. except that yesterday I had to run home at lunch time just to change my clothes... the maternity jeans I had on were cutting off my circulation I swear and I was SO uncomfortable!! ugh.. I think I've busted out just in this last week.. I'm switching over to the next level of what I call "moo-moo" clothes....(I just hate wearing TOO big of clothes, cause I'm only 5'4" and don't want to look like a box!) anyways.. I may need to invest in a couple very cozy pants this weekend.. feeling too restricted with the stuff I have now.. Oh-well - bound to happen!!
Hope everyone has a fun weekend planned.. we may go and order the baby furniture (crib, dresser/changing table & rocker).. I'll have to use my airline miles credit card for that one!! $$$ yikes.
Oh - and I just signed up for a series of childbirth/parenting classes through the hospital.. includes lamaze, infant cpr, child safety, breastfeeding and a special "daddy bootcamp" just for dads.. My boss wants to pay for my classes as a shower gift, which is nice.. (I can't say she's "bad" all the time..)
Ok - gotta run.. Have a good day and a great weekend!
Hugs,
tigerlove

Natalie, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Oh my, you must be SO relieved. You will sleep better now, I promise you!
Dana, I might have to do some clothes shopping this weekend also. We're going to FL to visit my inlaws next weekend and I have nothing for that weather in maternity, so I'm thinking of picking up a few items.
What to do about a bathing suit? I hate shopping for those when I'm NOT pg! I'm thinking I may wait til I get down there..my MIL says there's a maternity outlet near their house so she and I can in when I get there...I'm thinking it's more likely to find a bathing suit I can live with in FL than up here in the Northeast...we're expecting a blizzard tomorrow and up to a foot of snow. Of course, just when we moved the computer out of the nursery so we could paint we have a snowstorm so I can't get online at home!!!!
Was is Laurie who posted about inlaws? In laws are so complicated, aren't they? I sympathize with all of our issues with them. Mine are pretty great usually...I think I posted this in fertilitext a while ago, but I'm not sure...my issue with my MIL was that she apparently thought she was coming up here to stay with us for 2-3 weeks before AND 2-3 weeks after the baby was born. She didn't even tell us this, rather just told my SIL who told us. I was adamant that this is not happening, but she didn't catch the subtle hints my DH dropped over x-mas that we don't need houseguests around that time.
So, I sent out an email to her, my FIL, SIL, BIL and my mother and 3 sisters (it was totally directed at her but I figured if I made it a mass email she wouldn't be as hurt) saying that we had considered our birthing options and have decided we want to bring the baby home from the hospital and have some alone time to bond with the baby since it's our first child. We suggested out of towners come in about a week after we're home from the hospital. It was very tactfully written and with a very light tone. She has literally not even acknowledged receiving it, so I'm a little nervous about whether she's going to bring it up when we got visit next week! But I'm glad we put our wishes down clearly and hopefully she'll respect them.
She's a bit like Maria Barrone on Everybody Loves Raymond, but god help her if she ever tried to comment about my weight! Don't let such intrusiveness get to you...it says far more about your MIL than it does about you!
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!! Best, tigerlove

Ok ladies I was suppose to post earlier but I decided to lay down and rest and I didn't know that I was really tired. I ended up taking a nap. Today I don't feel so hungry I haven't had a lunch yet. Which is weird for me. Anyway so today I find out that the cafe I'm working at will be only open 5 days a week and not only that but they will start March 1st. To top it all off they only need one person. What does that mean for you me you ask? Well that means I will be out of a job earlier then planned and might not have a job to go back to. Which I guess I don't mind that much, but I just didn't plan on leaving so early. It's just all a shock to me but I know I was leaving already but I guess it was a little too soon for me. I just needed to let that out.
As for baby she has been very quiet today. Only activity early in the morning. Hope everyone else had a better day. I'll be lurking around catch you later.

Hi Ladies!!!
Seems more people have come aboard and there are so many posts I must confess I cannot read them all. I'll be much more attentive starting now though. I got my 2nd round of numbers and they jumped significantly so they believe all is well. I go for an u/s on the 15 - totally cannot wait.
I have not had any symptoms at all. My metabolism seems to have increased, as I can eat much more than I normally do and I seem to be actually teetering on/below my normal weight - happeneing with DD, too, though. I have been a bit queasy, but not really sick and I was glad to see (when I was skimming) that someone was having touble sleeping. With DD I slept ALL the time, but I have been awake for the last several nights and no mtter when I cannot go back to sleep. Augh!!! Hope this part ends soon - I need some rest - for everyone's sanity. Take care Ladies - Jen edd 10/10

OMG- I have been gone for 2 days and I can't keep up with you ladies!
Dana- I am so glad your dh is in a better place. Men get so upset when they feel that they may be less than perfect. They put high expectations on themselves to be "THE PROVIDER". That's sweet, but not every man can provide the way the dreamed they would. Like my dh. He thought he would be making more money at this point in his life and wanted me to stay home with the kids. It doesn't look like that will happen now. Maybe for a few months, but then it's back to work I go!
Natalie- I knew it!!!!! I knew the baby was fine! I am so happy for you. I know what a relief it is to find out everything is fine! These tests are made just to test mothers to see how much stress that can handle. My friend calls the afp test the "anxiety for parents" test. He is right!
DH painted the nursery! Now we have to figure out how to put the chair rail up. And also our chair and ottoman are in. It's green gingham to match the rest of the decor in the room. I can't wait to start putting it all together!
While i away, all my co-workers gave me such attention for being pregnant, i loved it. They sat me and this other girl who is pg by the door, so we could go to the bathroom whenever. They ordered whatever snacks we wanted and my co-workers were just so excited and helpful! I love that I look pg too!
My baby has been kicking 24/7 these past few days. Maybe b/c I was away from dh and he wasn't hearing his voice? Now that I am home, the baby has stopped. As soon as dh spoke to my belly he gave a few powerful kicks!
I am sorry I cannot give more personals, I have to catch up from this point on. Today it is supposed to snow storm in NY so we are going to work on the nursery! YAY! Only 4 more months to go!
Natalie isn't LML due June 4th too?

Hi! Where did you find a green gingham glider??? I am doing my nursery in green gingham, as well! I haven't found a glider yet. :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
I was up last night w/ the worst cramps...GAS AGAIN! My doctor has requested that I eat more fatty foods and at least 500 more cals a day! UGH!
My system is NOT doing well with that plan. I think I will just add a shake or something instead? Don't they make shakes for PG Mom's? These gas pains are like labor cramps from DD! UGH!!!!! I had to keep checking that I wasn't spotting or some other horrid thing! :(
Hugs to all

Laurie- It is gorgeous and a great price. It was in the mailer brochure from Babies r us. This week there was a $40 coupon with it. It is called the Jardine Rocker in Green gingham. Rocker item # 381931 ottoman item #381923. My local store had to order it. It took only 4 days to come in. The sale price for both was $380. Which is great for a chair glider/rocker/swivel and ottoman. I would go to your local store and give them the item #'s or see if you can find a brochure with the coupons as well. Good luck! I love it it is gorgeous and goes perfect in the room!

Mimi - I think LML's due date is also june 4th also. My ticker is one day ahead I am going to have to go back to my old ticker. Anyway glad your back and happy you found your chair. I am also looking for a chair but I don't know if I want to spend too much for it. Today I will go to babies r us with my pregnant co worker today. Her due date is on the 25th and she is 38 weeks already and can go anytime. LOL Hopefully not while we're at babies r us.
Just wanted to take a look at the post hoping it was not too much like the other day. I'll check in again later after I come back. I'm hungry I need to get some food and then head out.

I am soooooooooooooo excited! Had to tell you girls! Dh and I never did a chair rail and we are almost finished and it is coming out amazing! Like a professional! We were worried about the measuring, but it was easy. Now dh ran out to get a nail gun to make it look perfect instead of just nailing it in which i told him to get a gun from the beginning. He is so proud of himself, it's so cute. Then we will clean up and get the new chair, bookshelf, froggie chair (for baby) toy chest, and dresser in there. Then we will just wait on the crib and changing table! We kept above the rail light blue and below the rail a sage green. Maybe if I get the energy, I will do the curtains tomorrow. I am sure dh will be done with labor after this. I can't wait to hear about how your nurseries are going! Or for dollyface, your decor for the baby!
Laurie- I am so glad you are going to look for the chair! Like I said, it's so new they may not have it in the store. But i have it here now and it is one of the nicest one's I've seen for that price. I am sure once you give them the item #'s they can just plug it in the computer and order it. OH and if they try and show you one that is in the store that's gingham that looks like it, it's not like that one. That one is bulky. The jardine is more tailored and has buttons in the back cushion. It's more streamline and clean. Good luck!
Ok, I have rambled enough. I missed you girls! While I was away, no one really wanted to hear much about the baby or our plans for the nusery. Except the other pregnant women. So i felt like I had no one to talk to like I talk to you girls.
Check in later. Hope everyone is well. My little guy is not as active today. I wonder why there are days he is hyper and days when he's mellow?

Mimi - I'm so excited for you!!! That is so cute what you guys are doing. I won't get to decorate the room too much but just have a little bit more stuff then we did with DD. I am planning to have a little bassinet for her and a changing area because I learned my lesson already. It kills my back when I try to change the diaper just anywhere. Anyway I just got back from registering and I found a rocking chair!!! It is also made from Jardine. It cost 149.99 with the ottoman too. So that is great because! It is much better for me to add more things online because I can look for more items. I will do that later one. I will take a rest right now. It is so hot outside.
Hope to hear from everyone soon. Oh I also found another bottle that seems intersting and looks like it can mimic your breast its called Second Nature. I will try to breastfeed and try to pump out at the same time. Ok I'll be around bye. I'm so happy!! Also since I won't be working next month I have plenty of time to clean the area I will use for the changing table and have my mom to help carry heavy items. Ok bye for now.

Hi Ladies! Happy Sunday to all! My DH is depressed...NO FOOTBALL!
Mimi: I am doing my nursery in frogs...green gingham and frogs. I think we are on the same wavelength as I saw you have the froggy chair for your little one! I have one from Target...DH got it for me for Christmas. Also, the entire theme is frogs! CRAZY! I did see the chair at Babies R us...but now I wonder if it was the other one you are talking about?? I think I will order the Jardine...it does match really well and is comfy!
THANK YOU!
Have a great day!!!!

Dollyface- We had such a great time yesterday doing the nursery. We are now more excited for the baby to come. Where did you get a glider for only 149$? That is a great price! Is it a glider or rocking chair?
Laurie- I see the frogs decor in babies r us. It is so cute! We are doing the Chamois Lambie theme from Pottery Barn Kids. It is online but under the sale items now. We got ours for 1/2 price. I wanted it when it was at full price, so it worked out perfect when it went on sale. The bedding has green gingham in it so I bought green gingham curtains and the chair to match. We also painted half the room green, but I wish the green matched the green in the bedding better. My dh will kill me if I change the color. The paint color is almost like a lime green and it looks so pretty with the light blue paint. But the green decor is more sage green. Oh well, I am sure it will look great when all put together. I wish I had my camera back from repair to take a picture of the chair for you. It looks great and is comfortable.
We are having a blizzard here in NY. So I guess it's a stay at home day cleaning. I am going to continue with the nursery and cleaning out his closet. I hope everyone is doing well.

Nice Blizzard we're having, huh Mimi!? We must have 18-20 inches so far.. (CT)... I just thought I'd check in real quick to see what I've been missing.. Wish I was as motivated as you to clean and do stuff around the house... we had some friends over last night and I'm just plain tired.. it's one of those days to just stay in and watch movies all day..
Sounds like everyone is busy getting the nursery decor done.. it all sounds so cute!!!! I had all good intentions to do more this weekend, but I just feel lazy...oh-well... I guess it doesn't hurt to just relax too...
I think I'll get snuggled in on the couch and watch a good get to that movie I was talking about:) . Have fun ladies with your decorating.. I'll chat with you guys later...

obviously I didn't check my email before sending ....LOL I have two sentences merged into one.. I'm sure you guys figured out what I meant..
Oh - one thing.. My mom sent me an article about baby showers that was cute.. they talked about NOT doing the traditional games etc.. cause the guests can get bored with that.. but to ask the guests to bring a theme type gift - like "baby's firsts..." or a favorite baby book to contribute to the collection for the nursery. I have a feeling my shower/luncheon will be interesting... my girlfriends want to do a martini bar!! (oh-boy) - make mine a juice-sprizter...LOL
ok, I'm off...

Mimi - Its a glider rocking chair with the ottoman. From babies r us. It is also from Jardine.
I was going to make today a cleaning day but I have plenty of time and I am kinda tired. Probably go do groceries and then take DD to MIL and then rest. Ok catch up later bye.

Hey everyone -
I am in Minneapolis for 1 more week (I fly home back to the good old sunshine in FL on Friday) and we haven't gotten much snow - they forecasted quite a bit on Thursday. I hope all continues to go well for you stuck with Blizzard!
We don't have any baby superstores where I live (we have to drive about 2 hours to one) so Saturday we went to Babies R Us here. WHAT FUN!!! We looked at a few things - trying to get ideas. We saw the Jardine set, way too cute!
I am SO ready to go home. This time it was very difficult to put dh on the plane. I started crying and he ended up bumping to the next flight. For as much as I love him for doing that I think it just made it harde - dragging out the inevitable. BUT - just 5 more days.
I'm looking forward to starting the nursery - hearing yall's stories has me so excited!
We are going to get some dinner and I'll try to check in later!

Hi everybody,
How are all of you little snow bunnies out East??? YIKES! That's some serious snow! Hope everyone is doing well! At least you won't have to worry about snow for deliveries! SUNNY JUNE!
I am disappointed! DH wants to wait to get nursery furniture...including my glider...:( until AFTER thursday's ultrasound. He wants to see if we can find out the sex before we fully make decorating decisions. I ALREADY MADE DECORATING DECISIONS!!!
So I am wondering if we will see the sex? It will be just over 21 weeks. Not a 3-D ultrasound...but my doctor says "advanced" equiptment...whatever that means?
I know, healthy is what counts, but I can't help but wonder!
I see so many of June Mommies are having boys! I have dreams about girls all the time. Does that mean anything? I was hoping for a boy this time around :)
Have a GREAT DAY!!!!

Laurie- Green goes with boy or girl. Are you going to change the frog theme depending on the sex? See, I was going to do green and pink toile for a girl, so we waited til we knew the sex before we started decorating. I knew i was having a boy from the beginning. On the sono my little guy's scrotum was dangling in our faces. Even without the tech pointing it out, dh and I saw it on our own. We also saw his little penis sticking out! I think it's easier to detect a male. But my little one's legs were open. SOmetimes their legs are closed and you can't tell. My friend had to do 4 or 5 sono's b/c her little girls legs were crossed and they still only gave her a 60% chance of a girl, which was correct in the end. I had an amnio so I knew it was a boy 3 weeks ago. But I did start buying more stuff towards the boy end before we knew for sure. I just knew I was having a boy. Most of the time the mother is correct in her hunch. When is the sono? The chair will be there. It is new. So you can wait, i know how you feel though. I couldn't wait to start the room. Dh thought there was no rush, but I think he was excited too. Now all we have to do is wait for the crib and changing table in April and the room is pretty much done!
I called in a snow day today. We got like 28 inches of snow. My streets are barely plowed and my car in snowed in on a hill which is my driveway. I don't feel like shoveling myself out, sliding in the crappy car they give me, or sliding on the snow! I know my manager hates me b/c I am preggo. She never had any kids and thinks i use my pregnancy to get out of things. Well, I am sorry. I am not risking my health or the baby's health for this stupid job that I will be quitting in a few months anyway. After I get my maternity benefits, I am done! I will try and find part time in my field when i am ready to go back. Hopefully there are some jobs out there!
Hope all is well with everyone.

Hi everyone!!
Wow, you girls really got some snow up there!! I watched the morning show on CBS today and the weather guy was standing in 23" inches of snow in Central Park. Mimi, I don't blame you for taking today off. 28" inches is alot!! I wouldn't get out there, too!! Take it easy up there, too Dana!! I have a close girlfriend who lives in Stamford with two little girls. I bet they have a snow day, too! What part of CT are you in??
Laurie, your frog theme sounds so cute! I bet you'll be able to tell the sex of the baby. Good luck!!
I'm cleaning the antique wicker bassinet today so hopefully my dh can paint it this week.
Tigerlove, good for you for emailing the inlaws and others to let them know you and dh don't want visitors until a week after the baby is born. I, too will have the same problems with my in-laws wanting to come before, during and after the baby's birth. (and expecting to stay at our house, urgh....) I will have to take your lead and also email her... My mother is throwing me a shower and just recently rec'd an email from MIL asking if I wanted her to give a shower in my honor. I emailed back, explained and thanked her for offering. She hasn't written back so that means she is most likely ticked that she can't do the shower. Its just as well because I could probably see what a tacky mess she would make of it.
Better get going. Have a good day!! :)

Annie - you make me laugh with the MIL comments.. too funny.. I needed a laugh - man, anyone else feeling extra grumpy because you are starting to get uncomfortable?? I just can't seem to get comfortable sitting at my desk at work.. I even bought myself a new office chair (which is SO much better than what they had here for me) but still.. it's like my big belly is just in my way now! sleep has been alittle harder lately too.. and to think - we still have 3.5 months to go!! geez.. (my poor DH - hopefully, I can keep my cool and not snap at him over the silly things.. )
For you early June ladies.. Looks like we are almost entering our third trimester!!! whoo-hoo!! isn't it officially 26 weeks the start of it?? I'll be 25 weeks this Wednesday.
Oh - Annie, to answer your question... we are in Woodbury CT - near Southbury..(still, that's a small town, but you may have heard of it).. we're just off I-84 - kinda between Danbury and Waterbury.. Luckily I have my husbands 4wheel drive truck.. hope I don't have to drive that too much longer though, I can hardly climb in and out of it anymore.. We are actually trying to figure out the vehicle situation and wondering if we should sell the truck and get an SUV for when the baby's here.. I like the Toyota 4-runners but just not sure what the best option will be for us.. guess that's another thing to add to the "to do" list.. LOL
OK - off to work...almost wish I had a job where I could STAND up more.. guess I'd better take more breaks or something...
Enjoy your day... Chat later,
Dana;)

Wow seems like everyone well some of us is having problems with the in laws. LOL
Laurie - Can't wait to find out the sex of the baby also.
It is just crazy to hear you ladies are snowed in and get to called in to work. We don't get to hear its like so hot here. Wow ladies just think to think we're like almost done with this pregnancy. We've come along way but it can't go faster then this especially when we're sitting at home actually waiting for the baby to come and getting ready for baby. I'm so excited and at the same time can't wait for this part to be over so I can meet my baby girl. (Still crossing my fingers that the doctor is right LOL) Anyway at the end of this month I will be sitting at home doing nothing and just trying to get ready for baby and I trying to figure out what else I can do to fill my day.
Remember last week I told you baby was really quiet? Well the past few days she has been very active and I am feeling all sorts of weird movements. Maybe because she is getting bigger and stronger. But she still is moving a lot down below. I think she is still head down and fiddling with her little fingers. Ok ladies gotta do laundry and my desk is bothering me right now and I'm thinking of cleaning it up. Check in later. Bye.

Annir- my in-laws are in CT so they will want to stay with us right after the baby is born. But if I say no, Dh will frak b/c my parents who live nearby will be here right after the baby is born and will be helping out. I want my own mom. It's only natural.
Dana-I have been just saying to dh that I am so uncomfortable lately!!!! Getting in and out of the care is a challenge. Getting in and out of bed. Also I feel like I can't sleep comfortably or even bend down easily to pick things up. And we still have a long way to go! I am ending my 23 rd. I thought 3rd trimester was the end of 25th week?
Dollyface- why are you taking the rest of your pregnancy off after this month? I am jealous. Financially I cannot do that. But I don't know how much longer I can hold out.
Went to the gym, finally. Even though I am all belly I am started to feel like a whale! I am making meatleaf for the first time. It's a recipe from Paula Dean. Smells great so far. Gotta go check on it.

This thread is so busy. I love to read all the posts. But I forget who posts what when I type reply. I am going to have to start taking notes so I can keep up ....:)
I understand about wanting our own mothers. My mother told me Friday night that she was planning an RV trip with my dad to FL for Memorial Day weekend. I said are you kidding??? This baby is due 6/5....... You are not leaving and going 6 hours away that close to due date. My Dh said that was selfish... I said WHO CARES!!!! My mother was an OB nurse for 26 years (and is now the Nurse admin for a hospital) had it not been for her I would have bled to death after 1st DS was born 6 yrs ago. His reponse, "Good point. Tell her she is going no where!!" I laughed. I said I thought you would understand.
She has decided they will not be going. :) (Yes I am spoiled........)
I am so excited to read everyone's baby names. DH and I are really struggling with this.
I am behind the power curve. Many of you are painting nurserys and registering... I have not even ordered nursery stuff or bought paint. I have got to catch up!
see all you ladies later.

Hi Ladies...all you snow bunnies starting to thaw yet?
Hey Dana - one of my best girlfriends from college lives in Waterbury. Actually she is getting married in March, I am in her wedding...I will be the only beached whale in the party though!
What a day I have had. I left my house early (6:25am to be exact) to make a 10am meeting in downtown Cleveland. Now Pittsburgh, is only like 2 hours or 2 hours and 15 minutes from Cleveland. So I leave early, have to stop twice to pee, of course! Then I get off of the turnpike and there is a fender bender, so I sat in bumper to bumper traffic. Then further down the road, it is again bumper to bumper. I pull in to the hotel parking lot and literally have to run over to the building to make the meeting.
So after work, I check in. I always get a nonsmoking room. I check in, get up to my room with all of my luggage and realize, it is a smoking room. Well, as soon as the heat kicks on, I am sick. So I call the front desk, sure enough, nope, they put me in a smoking room! So whatever, I cart all my crap downstairs and get a new room. Come up and change, order room service. Then I go into the bedroom part of the suite and there is no remote. Yeah, pregnant lady in bed, I highly doubt that I will be living without a remote. So they bring me a new one, every button changes the channels, even the power button. So I have to call and get another one. FINALLY, peace and quiet. I am enjoying my soup and on this wonderful board!
I have a lot of catching up to do with you ladies. It sounds like everyone is feeling well. Other than maybe energy. Me too. I get tired easily.
Other than that, I have my 24 week appointment this week. Is it really 26 weeks start the 3rd trimester? Holy cow!
My husband painted and put the border up in the baby's room, so we are moving right along. We are going to place the order for the furniture soon. So excited! I love it. I worry that I am going overboard with the theme, but whatever, my baby will have a lot to look at!
As far as the in laws are concerned. My in laws are up and down. Since I have been pregnant, things have been better. My SIL, however, is a different story. She has been uninterested and down right standoffish with me since we announced the pregnancy (a little before that, but more so even now). Well, my husband told me that while I was away last week, his mom told him that his sister is having a hard time getting pregnant. Although, this hasn't been completely confirmed. I don't know when they started trying or anything, so the words having a hard time, I don't know what that means. She told me that they weren't going to try until August of 2005...which is when we started. That isn't a year, so I don't know if anyone will start her on fertility treatments that soon. I guess now I feel bad being mad at her, that is what my head says, my heart isn't so convinced. I don't wish her any problems getting pregnant, I would like to be there for her, but she wouldn't let me in anyway.
Sorry ladies to spill all this stuff on you. I am feeling down these days. I am getting very overwhelmed about being a mom. Everything from labor and delivery to raising him. Can I do this? Will I be a good mom? And being away has depressed me.
By the way, Nat, so happy things are okay, I knew they would be.
Okay - I will let someone else have a turn. Missed you guys this weekend.

LML - Wow I'm already tired from hearing your adventure with the room changing and traffic and stuff. But I'm glad you got everything figured out.
Mimi - It is really not my choice to stop working yet but the cafe I work for is not making money so they decided to cut days and hours and staff. So that means there is only one person in the kitchen which is not me. So I have to talk to the manager and see what the policy is about the maternity pay and if I qualify yet or not. Or to see if I get severance pay or not. I'll let you know more about it I have a meeting with the manager tomorrow.
Ok ladies gotta make this short have to go get groceries. Bye.

As of last appt I had gained NO WEIGHT! At the gym today...TWO POUNDS IN 10 DAYS! WOW This is gonna get interesting! MY BELLY SEEMS HUGE and the baby is doing serious flips! FUN!!!!!
Mimi...is it the Lady and Sons recipe? That is my DH's favorite meatloaf! YUM
Hope everyone is at home and safe from the terrible snow and ice!

Jumper - I forgot to add about the mother part. I too am spoiled when it comes to my mom helping me out with DD and she also will be helping out with the second one. Also the part where you have to take notes too. LOL I feel some days I miss so much I do have to take notes so I can personally reply. Then some days when I just sit here and check and nobody is on. I feel like this is a college class I'm taking and I need to take notes and then from those notes ask questions or take a quiz. Its fun though. I know when we are in week 30 we'll be on here constantly talking back and forth. But then after we have our baby we'll be on here weird hours of the day or night.
Ok I better go now getting tired. My energy level is low this time. Maybe next week I'll have a high energy level. Also I saw how pregnant I look. I love it. My mom made a comment of how she saw some ladies that was due in July but looked really big and then she looked at me and said I think your breast takes up more room and is way too big to make your stomach look big. I was like gee mom thanks is that a compliment? I am starting to itch now. Better run.

Jumper- my dh thinks I am spoiled by my parents sometimes too. But i said, wait til your sonis here, you will move heaven and earth for him. I am also the baby of the family, so my parents still feel the need to nurture me. But they are not overbearing! They are perfect parents and I love them to death. I remind him that he is the luckiest guy to have in-laws like them and my son will be the luckiest grandchild ever!
Dollyface-Oh, I see. Are you gonna be ok? I know i need my job up until the end in order for us to stay financially stable for a few months after. I can't wait to stop working, though.
Laurie- Yes! It was the lady and sons recipe. It was the best meatloaf I ever tasted. DH loved it, but he loves all my cooking. I am not a huge fan of meatloaf, but dh complains that all we do is eat pasta. He is right, that's all I crave so I am trying to make more meat dishes for him, even though I don't have the appetite for them. I go Friday to my monthly appt. The last appt I hadn't gained anything either. I am now ending my 23rd week, and I expect at least 5 lbs! My belly got so big all of a sudden. I would be shocked if I gained less than 5lbs this time. I will let ya know.
LML- i hate staying in hotels. I was just there last week. I like my own bed. I also had a roomate which snored so I was tossing and turning all night!
Do you believe what dh did? You ladies will freak on this one. I have a hard time sleeping at night, between the bathroom runs, stuffy nose, uncomfortable positions and weird dreams. DH knows this. Last night I feel him tapping me and calling my name. I jump up thinking something is wrong. He says "your snoring, i can't sleep!" He can't sleep? I haven't slept for the past 6 months! I never snore and he always does. I just nudge him so he rolls over! I don't wake him up. So this morning I gave it to him. I said the next time I snore and YOU can't sleep go sleep in the spare bedroom! You do not wake up a pregnant lady that has a hard time sleeping. Maybe I should wake him up everytime I can't sleep b/c i am preggo! He agreed never to be so dumb again! They just don't get it!
Anyone watch the bachelor? I am rooting for Sarah!
What are everyone'e plan for Valentine's day? We are going to my favorite italian restaurant. I just have to find something nice to wear where I don't look like a cow!
I have to get ready for work, check in later!:D

Good morning ladies.. busy, busy board, huh? sounds like everyone is doing well - glad to hear it. The snow is starting to melt on the roads and in the trees - not as pretty today as it was yesterday.. I had to call my plow-guy back again to clean up the driveway .. (we have a very long and steep drive - on hill) and they had to come twice for this storm (I don't even want to admit how expensive $$ that was for us) - so as they are driving down they hit the snow bank and pull a boat load of snow back into the driveway!?!? I was pissed.. they never really do that great of a job anyways, but what the hell am I paying for!!?!?! sorry had to vent that one.. I called them right up and told them so.. it was MUCH better this morning when I left.. I hate half-assed contractors.. (always out to make the buck, but never want to do the job right!) Ok, so have I vented enough!!?? LOL
onto another subject.. lots to comment on today.. those in-laws - well, should we just say "family"?? Mine too are all out of town (Michigan) so when they come for a visit - they are LIVING with me.. I politely told everyone that they need to give us the first couple weeks to be alone and that if something changes and I need help, I'll let them know. Now the only thing to do is to try and schedule everyone in... I kinda want my MIL to come first cause she's the typical "helping hand" type mom - she's great... not that my mom isn't, but my mom is more maintenence for me and I just won't be able to deal with that early on.. She's not really a cook (learned that part from my Dad) and she can be alittle oblivious sometimes when it comes to taking any initiative (to clean, cook, etc..) Not sure who will be coming first.. I'll need to work that out. As it is - we are already trying to plan a trip back to Michigan in August to coordinate seeing my brother from NC too.. hoping to fit in a family baby shower and a baptism in there too. OH-boy, here it comes.. the commitments of being a parent!
LML - I worry too about IF I'll be a good parent, how will I cope with an infant etc.. just the overwhelming "stuff" that we know is around the corner.. Somehow, I think we'll figure it all out, but it sure can be scary to think about sometimes... **breathe** cool that you have a wedding to go to in Waterbury.. small world, huh?
Mimi - SEND us that recipe!! I love meatloaf too and would love to try a new version.. the one I make is a dutch recipe and it's alittle on the sweet side (has the tomato sauce with brown sugar topping.. ) good, but I'm bored with it. OH - and good job getting to the gym! you're a better woman than me.. I've been talking about getting on my treadmill (located IN my house!) and I can't even get to that!
As for the Official start of the third trimester - YEP - it's starting on week 26!! wow - our babies will be here before you know it!! get paintin!! LOL DH promised we would go this weekend and order the furniture.. we never got to it last week.. I'm just too excited about getting the nursery done.. I think I'll end up just sitting in there for hours - dreaming of holding the baby!! **how happy are we, huh**??? I for one, still walk around in dis-belief sometimes.. wondering if I'm just dreaming!?!
Funny thing about the baby's kicks lately - definately getting stronger, but I am noticing that he is responding to my voice.. well, at least it appears that way.. even when my DH talks to him - there's BIGGER kicks! so cool. I was eating my cereal this morning and resting my bowl on my big belly and the bowl kept jumping! luckily I was finished - LOL
OK ladies.. I should run.. I meant to comment on the TIRED, uncomfortable stuff too and a few other things but hey, gotta stop somewhere.. this board is addictive for sure.. would rather be chatting than working, but... all good things must come to an end.. Have an awesome day!
Chat later...

Hi girls!! Happy Valentines's Day! We're staying home tonight, cheap I know but saving money... Hubby is grilling some filet mignons he got on sale last week. Hope everyone has a nice night.
Dana- I've heard of Woodbury before..... How is the snow, has it started to melt yet? Glad you liked my IL's saga- now we can comiserate with each other about IL's! ha. ha.
Mimi- I agree, I want my mom here after the baby is born, not my mother in law! I'm having sleep problems too, so I can relate with you on this. I seem to not be able to get back to sleep after i get up to empty my bladder..... no fun, lying in bed trying to get back to sleep and then I start thinking about all of the things I need to so before this baby arrives! urgh! I think someone else mentioned this very same problem recently but I can't recall who.... I love Paula Dean, too!! I have a great chicken salad recipe of hers.
If you or Laurie have a chance, could one of you send me the recipe for the meatloaf? DH would love it if I made it for him. Thanks!! If anyone wants the chicken salad recipe, let me know and I'll post it.
Jumper- You're not behind at all!! We haven't painted or registered yet either. You and I will get there soon!! Glad your mom isn't going away now for Memorial Day. I keep thinking that I'll deliver that weekend, earlier than my 6-4 due date. I'm glad you have your mom looking out for you regarding your delivery.
LML- your remote story.....you poor thing!! Sorry you had to change rooms, too. Traveling is no fun right now.... Sorry to hear about your SIL. I can really relate to her as it took us 20+ months to get preg. maybe it was 2 years.... it was way to long though. I know how she's feeling when a close family member gets preg. while they're still TTC. My husband's nephew (got married way too young) announced last year that they were pregnant and his wife is due this month. i know what you mean about feeling down!! Trying to find something that fits is depressing especially something that is appropriate for the function. everything is too tight, my body is huge, getting up from a seated postion is challenging, my mood is everywhere.... I can relate to how you're feeling. Hang in there and I hope you feel better!
Dolly- what did your employer say about maternity leave, etc? I hope you got some answers to your questions. Let us know what they said.
Better run, time to finish cleaning the bassinet before dh paints!!
Talk to you all soon!!
Annie :)

Happy Valentine's Day girls!
I have such fun news...last night some boxes arrives from Amazon.com...I ordered DH's v-day presents from there, and so figured that's what they were. I opened 1 box and it was the books I ordered, so I'm thinking "what's the other box?"...it was from babies r us from my registry! My little sister's friend from childhood sent us a blanket and the papoose wrap we registered for! How sweet is that, and such a surprise! I haven't seen this kid in like 3 years, but she grew up with my little sister, who's 8 years younger than I am...I watched them a lot when they were teens and I was in my early 20s and let them get away with murder. I guess not ratting her out all those times paid off!
Anyway, it was so much fun, getting our 1st gifts from the registry! Thought I'd share with the only other people I knew would really appreciate how exciting that is!
Dana, I live in CT too, and we're melting too...I'll say what everyone keeps saying to me...watch your footing in the ice, we need to be extra careful!
Here's the funny joke I've been using a lot lately when I run into people who've heard I'm pg. but whom I haven't told directly, now that I'm showing so much they'll say "Wow, you're pregnant!" and I respond with "yes, and I know what you've read and heard, and I just want to clarify that this is NOT Brad Pitt's baby." I crack myself up!
Hope you all have romantic evenings planned...we usually don't go out on v-day, but DH is a fantastic cook (he does all the cooking) so I'm sure we'll have something special. I might even try to make him something since he's been working into the late hours in the nursery every night...although my cooking might not be the nicest way to say "thank you"! Best, tigerlove

Hey Ladies, Happy Valentines to you too.
So you know I am away, and I am sure that me being down is part of it. I am a little bummed today though, listening to all of your plans for the V-day. I wasn't looking for anything much, but I thought my husband would at least have called me this morning or emailed me an I love you. Granted I talked to him last night, but something to let me know that he is thinking about his prego wife.
Oh man, ladies this is the first time that I have felt like my emotions are completely out of control. This is unbelievable!
So I am going to have to talk to my Zachary and see if I notice the kicks getting harder or not. That is great.
I think my husband feels weird about talking to my belly, for whatever reason. I don't know why, he always has his hands on it!
Well, I think I may gather a few girls that are out here working and go to dinner tonight. To a bar....obviously for something other than an adult beverage for drinking;)
Talk to everyone soon.

Tigerlove - how sweet of your sisters friend to send you something!! you MUST have made an impression on her... Where in CT are you? We are in Woodbury (as mentioned before) - we like it.. rural, but still close to the necessities of life.
LOVE the joke too.. very funny.. I don't think I could get away with it.. I couldn't keep a straight face!
Hope to have a nice dinner tonight at a great place right in town.. kinda expensive, but luckily we have a gift certificate to spend from my girlfriends parents (we let them stay at our house over the holidays while we were out of town..) nice of them to do that.. we weren't expecting anything.
Oh - thanks techgirl for the link.. I'll have to check it out.. Happy pregnancy to you too! best of luck with everything.. we're only a couple months ahead of you, so come on over and ask anything you'd like! one of us might have the answer - or at least a good educated guess on the subject!
Take care all....

LML - I wanted to write you back cause your post must have come in just before I posted and I didn't want you to think I skipped over you...
I'm sorry you're feeling alittle down.. it's understandable being that you're away from home and all.. just try to think about all the blessings you have and how wonderful this little baby boy will make your life... keeping busy will help too, I'm sure.. so definately make plans for later..that will be fun! sometimes the non-alcoholic beers are pretty good and can hit the spot! Hey - if you have time - why not treat yourself to a nice pedicure or something!!?? that always makes me happy!
I'll be in and out this afternoon, so feel free to write back if you need to chat..

LML - I guess you are going through the emotional roller coaster now. Sit back and relax when I say its a roller coaster you'll have down days and up days. For some weird reason you'll be so sad and anything anyone says to you can upset you. Then some days you can be floating on cloud 9.
Mimi - I tried to talk to the manager but now I have to email her then she can forward it to the our accountant guy or something hopefully he can arrange something for me up until I can get maternity leave or something. Either way I will be entitled to unemployment because it is not my fault. Plus I think its a perfect time for me because I am getting so tired and just so lazy to get up in the morning.
Dana - I have been talking to my little one since I don't remember. But when she would kick a lot or at odd times of the day I would tell her to stop or say ouch. I even have her big sister talking to her too. Its so cute. But I'm not sure if she does really respond though. LOL
Tonight we are going to this restaurant at the Santa Monica Pier called The Lobster and I am planning on getting a big fat lobster and probably a steak or maybe filet mignon. Hope you ladies are having a Happy Valentines Day.

Here is a recipe that we use at work and its Turkey. You skip that part where is says weigh out to 4oz portions and just put it in a loaf pan. Enjoy, its really good too also before you bake it brush the outside with ketchup. You can add some basile also.
Turkey Meatloaf
• 1 c. Sun-dried Tomatoes, reconstituted and diced
• 2# Ground Turkey
• 1 c. Rolled Oats, pulsed quickly (just a few times to break it up a bit – careful not to turn it into powder!)
• 1 c. Parmesan Cheese, finely grated
• 4 Eggs
• 1 Large Onion, finely diced
• 2 tbsp. Thyme, chopped
• 2 tsp. Salt
• 2 tsp. Pepper
1. Oven @ 350 degrees
2. Mix all ingredients just until combined. Careful not to overwork
3. Weigh out into 4 ounce portions
4. Place on large sheet pan with wire rack covered with parchment paper brushed with olive oil
5. Lightly coat meatloaf with olive oil
6. Bake for 50 minutes
7. Cool

Good morning ladies...
I have to say, I am doing much better, although it is only the first thing in the morning. I got a much better night's rest last night, and I think that was really half of the battle. So I guess I am going up the hill on the roller coaster.
I was talking to my husband last night and told him that this is the first time I had felt completely out of control with my emotions. He thinks that it had a lot to do with me being tired and being away from home. I guess that is true. But it really scared me, because in general, I am a pretty happy go lucky kind of person. Oh well.
I hope everyone is feeling well today. The baby is crazy today again already. It is going to be a long day of non-stop kicking! I guess I can't complain, at least I know my little one is healthy and active.
Okay girls, I will be lurking today. Talk to everyone later!

Tigerlove- I love getting baby gifts esp. in the mail. I can't wait. My dh's family is out of town, so hopefully they will send gifts off the registry!
LML- husbands just don't get it sometimes. There are times that I feel my dh is so thoughtful and caring and times when I feel like I don't exist!!! Times when he should be thinking about me and he doesn't. I know deep down he is a good guy and loves me, so I let it slide once in a while, but when I look at my friends dh's I feel lucky to have mine. Men are not wired like women. Different things drive them. Being away from home is not easy esp. when you are pregnant.
Dollyface- you should get unemployment at least!! Something. It is not your fault they cannot afford you. I hope you get what is owed to you. Just b/c we are pregnant does not mean we can be discriminated against. We have bills to pay or we wouldn't be working in the first place!
My baby was kicking non stop while I was away but since I have been home these past 5 days he is not kicking as much. WOnder why? And dh still can't feel him when he kicks! I feel like they are hard kicks but I guess the baby is still too small. I think the baby is still laying across the bottom of my belly. When do they move to up and down position?
my dh has an interview today. If he gets this job I won't have to go back to work until I wan to. I pray he gets it. I have no one to watch the baby. I wan't to stay home so bad. This is the opportunity we have been waiting for. His old co-worker and close friend works with the manager my dh is interviewing with. SHe called the manager and told him my DH was THE GUY for him. So hopefully her recommendation helps him. I will let ys know how it goes.

HI Ladies,
Mimi...good luck to your DH!! I will keep my fingers crossed!
To everyone working, and traveling...I really feel for you! I worked the whole way through my DD'd PG and it was very hard. I hope that DH's came through with fab valentine's for all of you!!!!!!!
I am feeling the baby now more than ever...though DH and DD can't feel anything. I am getting all geared up for my ultrasound tomorrow. THOUGH I DREAD HAVING TO DRINK ALL THAT WATER AGAIN!!! Last time I had to wait 2 and a half hours for the scan!!!! UGH
I don't know why I have to drink that anyways...my sisters didn't at this point.
What should I do to get the baby moving around? I heard drinking juice or soda or eating candy will help?

and have NO pants that will fit by then. Also, I need long lengths.
Mimi maternity doesn't work for me, so I will end up going to Pea in a Pod and spending a car payment. HELP!!!
Why doesn't anyone make hip (reasonably priced) pregnant lady clothes? NOT MATERNITY, HOT MAMA CLOTHES!!!

hey girls.. hope everyone had a nice Valentines Day.. my hubby bought me roses and a card and then we went out to dinner.. very nice.
Mimi - the recipe you posted is almost exactly the dutch version - mine is alittle sweeter, so I'm definately going to try this one! **crossing my fingers** for your DH today! let's hope all goes well!! I wish I could help with the picture thing, but I'm not exactly sure how I did it either.. I know you need to go to your picture (prior to attaching) and size it down ("image - resize") to like 50% and then "save as" another name to keep that setting.. then go to the options button (manage attachments) below your post and browse to attach your new saved picture.. It will tell you if it's still too big to attach - I had to go back and resize again too.. I think that's it.. give it a try.. maybe someone else has a better way to do it.. it's the resizing that is confusing to me.. good luck.
Lml - I'm glad you're feeling alittle better.. sleep does make a difference.. I had the same thing the other day.. mine was more of a grumpy and emotional thing, but then just went to be early and boy what a difference that made. I think we are probably hitting that time in the pregnancy when we are going to easily get "run down" - so we need to take extra care of ourselves.. good luck with the rest of your trip - safe trip home.
Hey - I wanted to share the crib and dresser pics - this is the manufacturer's site.. we hope to order it this weekend! (we are not getting the armoire pictured.. just the other two pieces...) http://www.bonavita-cribs.com/sheff.html
Gotta run.. have a good day..

Thanks for the recipes Mimi, Lori and Dolly! I hope to make a meatloaf tonight for dh. yum! Had a nice evening last night, dh made dinner and he gave me a pretty necklace that has a mother and child on it. too sweet.
Dana, I like the furniture you ordered.
Mimi, I'll cross my fingers that your hubby gets the new job.
Have a good day!! :)

Dana - I LOVE your furniture. It is really nice, you can tell the quality of it as well.
Laurie - keeping my fingers crossed for you tomorrow! Hope everything goes well with the u/s. Drinking the water stinks, but it is worthwhile for the cause.
Mimi - that would be great if your husband gets that job. I hope it works out, make sure you give us the update!
I was wondering how hard it is going to be to work after awhile. I kept thinking that I was going to work up until the point of no return, but after what I experienced this week, I wonder if I will be able to. Has anyone talked to their doctor, OR if you are on your second + child know if your doctor discussed with you how you were feeling and if you were handling work okay? I am just wondering. I have a desk job, so it isn't like I am on my feet all day or driving, but I wonder if come May, when I am a few weeks out, if it is just going to get hard to keep myself together, physically, emotionally, mentally.
Mimi - I hear you on the husband thing. I wouldn't trade mine for the world. And he is really very good to me. I just was disappointed, especially after he had known that I had a bad day on Monday, that he didn't call me or email me a little love note. I told him that it wasn't that I was looking for diamonds and furs, but you know, just knowing that he was thinking of me. When I talked to him last night, he was like a little kid that had been caught doing something wrong. He kept saying over and over how sorry he was. I forgive him, I am over it. But you are right, men are fueled by different things.
So hungry right now, can't wait until lunch time!
By the way, I don't know what I am going to wear to my shower. I haven't thought about it. I guess I should think about it though. First, I need to find something to wear to a rehearsal in March, THEN we can move on to the next thing.

Hi all...hope everyone's doing well today! VDay was happy...got home last night and DH had 3 dozen roses waiting for me, and my present was the rocking chair we'd decided on! It won't be here for 6 weeks so he had the store print out a picture which he put in the card...it's so exciting! He told the lady at the store not to put the order in until I called today to confirm that he picked the right color (he did on the fabric, but he forgot to tell them it should be the dark wood) so I called this morning and said my name and the woman goes "are you going to change the color? Your husband said he liked the color that he ordered but that it doesn't matter whether he likes it, only if you do!" I said "yes, he's right, but I happen the like the color he picked!" Funny how men are.
The rocker looks like a regular upholstered chair but has the wood underneath to make it rock...very cozy! It's made by Best Chairs, and we decided on a color called "latte" which is slightly darker than tan but not brown in an ultrasuede. That way it can be moved into the playroom later and we feel justified in the cost a little more! I'm also ordering a chair and a half with a storage ottoman that matches for the playroom, so that eventually they'll be a set. Amazing how well we can rationalize ridiculous amounts of $ when we shop, isn't it?
Annie, that necklace your husband got you sounds lovely and so thoughtful!
Dana, we're in Danbury...my office is in Ridgefield, where I grew up. Woodbury is lovely...we got to Carmen Anthony's pretty often...we had my inlaw's 40th anniversary party there last year in their private room...it was FABULOUS and so yummy, and considering what their usual prices are it was surprisingly reasonable! Your furniture is beautiful...and you can tell the crib will make a really great looking headboard and footboard.
Laurie, I don't know why you'd have to drink for the u/s either. I haven't had to have a full bladder for an u/s since like 10 weeks, and the instructions my dr.s office gave me before my 20 week u/s said that you should have a full bladder only if you're under 16 weeks. Funny how different offices do it differently...maybe you should call to confirm before you put yourself through the misery of the full bladder!!!
Mimi, good luck to your DH from me as well...you're right, they can be so moody and unpredictable sometimes...my assistant has a phrase for it, because sometimes they act like total babies, so she'll say "you want a cookie?" about her DH when he's being a baby. Maybe your DH is just nervous about the possible new job.
I really think men put so much pressure on themselves, esp. when their wives are pg., because they are nervous about their ability to be a good provider. Just as society makes us feel bad if we're not skinny or beautiful enough, they're made to feel like failures unless they make a lot of money. It's not easy either way.
I forgot who commented about maternity clothes, but I found some really nice, hip stuff at Marshall's...they have maternity section and the stuff is pretty high end at discount prices. I also have had some good luck at Kohl's. I have no clue what I'll wear to my shower, but it's not until late April so I have some time to think about it.
Tomorrow I'm off to FL to visit the ILs...hopefully my MIL won't try to corner me to get me to reconsider the whole "give us some time to bond with the baby before you come to stay with us" thing. My SIL thinks she's just going to be making comments like "you know, if you have a c-section, you're really going to need some help" or "if you want some extra help you know I'll be happy to come up" like 10 times a day! I'll let you guys know what happens...this is why we're only staying until Tuesday!
Happy hump day everyone...best, tigerlove

Hi girls
My (annoying and extremely rude) nurse just called to tell me I have to drink 32 oz of water an hour before my appt for the ultrasound. I asked her why becasue I am 21 weeks. She said it isn't her job to answer my questions AND she couldn't say whether I will end up waiting another 2 hours plus this time.
Well, if they make me drink all that water and then sit for even ONE hour I will PEE ALL OVER THE WAITING ROOM
Did any of you have to drink that much for a 21 week ultrasound?
Am I being a jerk here?
:(

I went at 18 weeks and I had to drink I think 16 or 20 ounces of water one hour before. I didn't have my ultrasound at the doctor's office, but at an women's imaging facility. My appointment was at 10, I had to empty my bladder at 9, then start drinking and be done by 9:30. I just drank on my way there. I was definitely not done because I was afraid of what would happen.
As far as the way the nurse talked to you, that is terrible. Newsflash, it is their job to answer your questions! Hello? I can't get over that.
Well, good luck, let us know what happens.

Laurie- i had to drink 32 oz and I waited til right before I went b/c i assumed they would make me wait at least an hour. Of course, i got right in and they said my bladder wasn't full enough to see the baby well. But in the next 15 minutes of the sono my bladder filled up. 32 oz is not bad at all. I would wait til you get there to start drinking.
Annie- necklace sounds beautiful. that was so thoughtful!
Dana- i still can't figure the picture thing out. Where do I find options? I feel like a moron when it comes to computers. Ever since I graduated college, i feel out of the loop with those things.
tiger- the chair sounds like mine. But I got the green gingham. I figure it could be used in any room later on. Dh has been pretty stable about the daddy thing, but still worries about finances. That's b/c I don't want to go back to work and he knows that if I stay home, we will be strapped for money. I got a higher paying job when we got married so we can afford this house. He should get a higher paying job to support this baby. Case closed!
LML- I am in sales and am on my feet and in and out of the car and driving all day. I don't know how much longer i can work. I am getting tired now and winded. I think you can work up til the end unless you are high risk.
Just spoke to dh, sounds like his interview went OK. But they have a lot more to interview. Doesn't sound promising. My dh is such a hard worker and a great salesmen, but I have a feeling he doesn't do well on interviews. I kick a** on interviews and get every job i go for. But I interview very well. I think dh gets nervous and it might come across as insecurity. But, he is an awesome worker. I see so many morons get these great jobs b/c they interview well, yet they are horrible producers! I am so upset. I hope something comes along! Gotta go lay down, my back hurts. Check in later

For my first Ultrasound, which was around 8 weeks i think I had to drink the 32 oz of water. Yay!
For my `18 week ultrasound I had to drink nothing. woo hoo!!! the tech guy even said as we were walking to the room, you drink nothing? you need to pee? you can pee? in this really deep accent. it was funny.
now tomorrow i have a 22 week ultrasound because the 18 week ultrasound wasn't clear. I was told it will be 2 hours or so, it's at the hospital, there will be a dr there, and i cant pee for 2 hours before the ultrasound, but i dont have to drink any specific amount. i said ok i wont drink. 4 hours, no pee?
hello???? did you forget im pregnant???????
ill let you know tomorrow if i should have worn a diaper or not.
good luck kim!
mimi, tell your hubby to think positive.

Wow Bastet, haven't seen you around in a while. Or am I just being crazy. I missed out so much today and yesterday I guess. Today I was so tired yesterday from work and then I didn't have time to rest before going out to dinner because I was so excited because it felt like it was our first date or something. We were alone and I guess the thought of it all. So I had to go to work again today but only worked for two hours and came home and took a nap.
Mimi - I know what your saying abou the unemployment thing. I hope things get done before I leave next week. The accountant they have sometimes doesn't do his job. Sometimes we get letters from our distributors that we our past due on our account. I'm wondering why are we past due if someone is not doing their job. But anyway If I don't get a reply by the end of this week I will have to go talk to the owner. Praying that your DH gets the job.
Laurie - That is so weird that they tell you, you need to drink that much of water considering how far along you are. I know what you mean about the nurses sometimes too. Sometimes my nurse seems like she is annoyed by me or what I do. Like when I called complaining about a problem she made it sound like I was stupid or something.
You know ladies the days can't seem to go by faster now since I am waiting to not work anymore. Today I was just not in the mood to work. Anyway next week will probably go slower. Then I'll be at home counting the days where I will meet my little one. Ok ladies I'll come back later.

Bastet- glad your joining us again. Good luck with the sono. Hope your bladder holds up. Are you going to find out the sex? I am trying to stay positive regarding my dh getting a better job before the baby comes. But I wish I knew what was going to happen in the future as far as finances. It is so important for me to stay home with my kids. Oh well, I guess time will tell
Sandy- congrats!!! You are evening up the score. There are more boys being born in June then girls! The boys have been taking over! Any names picked out?
Dollyface- I wish I could stop working now. I am so burnt out and just physically and mentally tired all the time. And I have a long way to go. I do have to say that I feel like the weeks are flying by these past couple of weeks. My sister said that after 20 weeks it goes by fast. She was right. I feel like I just had my 20 week sono and now I am entering my 24th week. It will be here before we know it.
I think my little one is playing tricks. Last night he was kicking soooooooo hard. Whenever dh came over and put his hand there he stopped! Now that dh left for work he is kicking hard again. Dh still hasn't felt the kick. Do you all think this is just a coincidence? Or do you think the baby can sense something? Seems crazy.
Gotta go send pictures. I still can't get my pictures on here. Have a great day, all!:D

Sandy - congrats on your little girl. Giving our boys a run for their money that is for sure.
Dolly - is that one ticker on your signature for your dog? I had to laugh, my baby right now is a yellow lab, poor little guy, I know it will be an adjustment when my precious son is born. I always called the dog "mommy's baby boy" so I have been trying to get a new thing going since the baby will actually be my baby!!!
Okay - I am so thrilled that I am done on my business trip, I will be home this afternoon. I do not have to come back until after the baby is born. I travel in March but for a wedding.
Mimi- was that you that said SIL told you after week 20 things seem to move faster. I agree. I am sitting here at 24 weeks, go to the doctor tomorrow for a check up, and I can't believe in a matter of a few weeks, I am entering the third and final trimester. Wonder why at the beginning it seems like time is draggin.
So June mommies, are we going to reunite on the We're Parents board once we have the babies? We will go from questions about kicks and weight gain, to questions about sleep deprevation and poopy diapers. Ha....you can tell I am feeling better today because I just smiled at the though!
Have a great day ladies!

Hey lml - so glad to hear you "smiling"! you must be thrilled to get home.. have a safe trip... I thought about the "we're parents" board the other day and wondered what was REALLY in store for all of us.. I can see some pretty interesting conversations going on there!! Hang on girls, it's going to be a wild ride! Thank God we have each other to lean on..
I'm glad I got some good reviews from you guys on my furniture choice.. my husband is so picky... he's actually the one that picked it out - I'm easy - I'd take a borrowed crib if needed.. but this will be a good long-term option for us.
As for the TONS of water you guys are drinking before the u/s... I had my 20 weeks and didn't have to drink anything!?!? I thought that was only necessary in the earlier weeks of PG - cause the baby was so small?? in any case.. good luck.. cross those legs!
Mimi - sorry you're still having pic trouble.. I just wing-it myself.. do you see the section in between your post (your reply) and the recent posts? (scroll down just below the smiley icon window....) - that's where there's you can rate the thread, show your signature OR manage "attachments" (YOUR PICS!) go to that option and walk thru the steps to attach a file or pic. Hope that helps alittle more..
Speaking of back trouble.. I've been pretty faithful about going to the chiropractor just once a month as a "preventative" measure and I swear, it's really helped me.. Just about 3-4 days before I'm scheduled to go, the middle of my back starts to ache.. I'm hurting today, but I go tomorrow morning.. (who knows, maybe it a mental thing...)
Tigerlove! - wow, you're just over in Danbury, huh?? My DH and I lived there when we first moved to CT 20 years ago!! (an apartment in a house just off Golden Hill Rd - Exit 5) I still do most of my shopping there since I'm not too keen on the Waterbury stores.. Yes, Carmens was awesome the other night.. except for our slightly cranky waitress.. I was alittle disappointed to see every other lady there being given a rose at the end of her dinner EXCEPT me!! my husband wanted to call to owner to complain, but I talked him out of it.. strange... I don't think we did anything to her???.. she was just impatient I think and we were taking our time enjoying the evening.. Oh-well... Hey - thanks for the tip on Marshalls.. I have a gift card I need to spend there.. didn't even think they would have maternity! Have a good trip to FL - good luck with the in-laws...
Ok - work is calling again.. better get to it.. I'll check in later.. My girlfriends and I are getting facials tonight at the "school" where they teach them.. really good deal $30 for an hour and a half.. not the greatest atmosphere, but who cares!! can't wait.. it's so relaxing..
have a good day all!!

mimi - sure there is a lot of boys ready to come in june.. We have'nt decided on a name yet although we know she will get my MIL name as middle name.
am so excited abt this girl , i cant wait to buy all cute dress for her :)
DH called me from work after the appnt and he said he is so excited abt having a daughter :)
and already thinking abt protecting her from bad guys he he so cute .
Dh is so good with kids. even my 2 yr old neice adores him. not to mention his 2 neices and nephew. Am not feeling strong kicks but i sure feel a lot of movements king of bubbles. Is that normal even at 21 week not to feel strong movements.
The most amazing thing that happened is during our US yesterday
while the doctor trying to get a side view of our little one she slowly started moving her mouth ( kind of like sucking) and slowly moved her hands towards mouth and started sucking her tiny finger .. it was soooo cute.. We even got a pic of it (they gave us lot of US pic of
tiny feet and hands).
have a good day !!!

Laurie- the boys are winning this month. We need more girls. COngrats!!!!!!!!!!! How do you feel about a boy? Did you see his little scrotum? We did. WOW. Ok, now tell us names. Now you can decorate your nursery!!!!!!!! Go get that gingham chair!
Sandy- i love little girl clothes. Boys clothes aren't as cute, but today I saw a little boy about 5 months dressed in a yankees cap, blue jeans, white polo shirt and a navy windbreaker. I almost died! I had to tell the mom how adorable he looked. He is already a sharp dresser at 5 months!
Dana- I will try one more time. I tried what you said yesterday and it just sits there and doesn't load. I love facials. Used to get them monthly and my skin looked amazing! But the are $100 and I figured we need baby stuff more than I need a facial and I feel that one facial once in a while doesn't make much difference. If i go regularly it helps a lot. Another sacrifice I give for the baby. It's all about the little prince now!
LML- yes that was my sis that said that. I didn't believe her, but I have a feeling the next half of the pregnancy will go quicker. But i think the 2nd trimester goes by fast b/c we feel better. The first, we are sick and going through odd changes. And the third we are so big and uncomfortable. So the third trimester might slow things up. But we only have about 3 1/2 months to go. Once Spring comes in April, it will fly by. (let's pray). I am gald you are back to YOU! We all get a little down once in a while. I need you girls on the we're parents board. I don't know what the hell I am doing? And dh is even more clueless!
Everyone keeps telling me that my belly is getting bigger each week they see me. It's nice that even strangers are asking me when I am due. So at least now I look pg no doubt!
We need our AMerican Idol thread. Do you think I should start one? I hate that girl Brenna (sp?). What an attitude. I need someone to discuss these finalists. Who's with me?
Jeanette

Well ladies, add another boy to our list!
Damian Charles is due June 21st. We found out today.
My bladder held up, but my patience almost didn't!
Are all ultrasound techs so standoffish or do I just have bad luck?
I understand they have a lot to do, but I mean come on, smile or something! I had to lay there with wayyyy to much exposed for my comfort level for an hour, with a hi, lay down here, and then an hour later ok whats his name so I can go get him.
I swear every U/s i have, they tell me to pull my pants lower and lower. The next one my pants will be around my ankles at this rate!!!
ahahaha.

LML - LOL!!!!! No that ticker is for my daughter. Maybe I should have changed to a little person sorry!!
Bastet - Congrats to you on the boy!!
Sandy - Congrats on the girl!!
Mimi - I am to that point where I am really tired now and really have a hard time waking up in the morning no matter how much sleep I get. So I guess its a better thing for me. Any news about the job for your DH?
Have you ladies notice how big our stomach is getting? Just in no time at all we'll be in L&D screaming our heads off and then we will meet the little person kicking inside us. I can't wait for that day. February is almost over then we have March, April, May. For some of us I think we'll meet our little person in late may. Ok ladies check in later. Bye.

Bastet: congrats on your little boy!! I found out today, as well!
We are thrilled, esp DH and DD!!! I am so glad he is healthy :)
Tonight we discussed names and NOTHING is agreed upon! But there's a while to go, so no worries :)
YES! My stomach is getting large as well! My DD told me my butt is getting big too! AND one of my gym friends said the same, in a different set of wording...
I ate a HUGE slice of Coca Cola cake at Cracker Barrel for a celebration dinner!!!!! YUMMY And I don't care if it settles in my butt either
Have a great night ladies.

Congrats to Sandy on your little girl and Bastet on your little boy! How exciting!
Mimi ~ Good luck to your husband! I have been a SAHM since my first daughter was born and I really enjoy it. Although, there are some days I can't wait to get back to teaching!
Dana ~ Your furniture was beautiful!
I was so excited to go shopping today for more girl stuff, bedding, furniture, etc, but we got a ton of snow here so I had to stay home all day:( Thank goodness for the internet!
Up until last week I was having trouble sleeping, I had a prenatal massage and ever since then I have been sleeping much better! It was awesome!
Well forgive me if I forgot anything! There were so many posts! I will try to get on everyday so I don't have so much catching up to do!
Take care!

Laurie - Congrats on the boy!!!
Just wanted to drop by and check the board. I can't wait until next week is over so I can wake up late and not worry about going in to work or care about work. It'll just be about me me me! LOL I feel so guilty I had a iced latte and a can of sunkist. But the weird thing about is that Alyssa wasn't moving as much as she normally would. I would feel her here and there but not crazy. She'll probably be back to normal tomorrow. LOL Ok ladies good night and I'll check in tomorrow. Happy Pregnancy!!!! :D

mommyoftwo- congrats on the little girl! What are you going to name her? I ran out and bought boy clothes the day after we found out. I want to be a SAHM too. I think I would be miserable if I couldn't be with my child all the time. I am a perfectionist who thinks only I can do it the right way. I will drive everyone around me crazy if I wasn't around to make sure things are being done right. I know it's annoying for other people but that's just the way I am. I will go back to work after the 2nd child is in school all day. So I guess in another 5 or 6 years I will go back. That's what my mom did and it worked out perfect. where do you live that you got a bunch of snow?
Dolly- I hope you enjoy staying home and resting. I think I might need to stay home soon too. I am trying to go til the end. I have a more flexible job and can pretty much make my own hours so if i get tired I just end the day. I don't think i will get in trouble for it. They should be happy I am still working at all.
I have my monthly check up today. I get weighed, blood pressure, urine and hear the baby's heartbeat. YAY. I am dreading the getting weighed part b/c I know I gained a few esp. since I didn't gain any weight in the past 2 months prior. I will let ya know.
Have a great day!:D

OK ladies, Are you ready for this? I gained 7 lbs in 6 weeks! YIKES! I kinda had a feeling b/c i didn't gain anything last month, but 7! I am now up to 19 lbs! I am freaking out. I don't eat a lot I am just eating fattening foods. I crave them and I also eat so healthy before I was pg that I love being able to eat these foods. Up til now my weight has been great so I figured, why not! Well, not anymore. I ate a sald for lunch today and I am cutting back on the pasta and bread. I like fruit but everytime I buy it it tastes bad. I didn't want to gain more than 30 lbs so i better start scaling back. I know it's all in my belly but BOY did my belly get big. Everyone keeps asking me If i am due in a month or so. It's like I just popped overnight again! I am tiny so I am not surprised that I look big, but I am starting to worry. I do not want to get too big. I still have a long way to go. But everything else went great. Got to hear the heartbeat. I have the glucose test in a month-YUCK!
Is anyone banking their cord blood? I haven't inquired about it. I asked my dr. what he thinks and he says it is still experimental but it can be used to cure cancer in me or my child one day. He thinks it's worth it, but I have no idea how expensive it is.
Has anyone identified or interviewed a pediatrician? I have 2 names of local dr.'s that I need to set up an interview for.
Oh well, i cut my day short today b/c of the nasty rain and wind. Gonna go watch "A baby story"

Laurie K ~ I am very excited to have 3 girls! I only have brothers, so I am looking forward to the sister relationships!
Mimi ~ I live in SE Wisconsin, in a suburb about 20 minutes from Milwaukee. We only got about 5 inches of snow here, but we also got a ton of sleet which turned into ice so it was a mess yesterday.
I have been craving fattening foods as well. I haven't gained a ton of weight (18 lbs) and the Dr. said I am doing well. Although after every Dr appt I try to eat really well for a few days and then I can't do it anymore! I also crave a ton of pasta and bread! I remember looking into banking the cord blood and I think it was expensive, but I guess it could be worth while in the long run.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! My mom is taking my daughters overnight :) , so my husband and I are going out to dinner! I will check back soon!

Mimi - I will enjoy not worrying about getting up in the morning to be at work at a certain time and worrying about feeding people and prepping food for the day. But I just dread the part where I have access to food anytime I want and then after that I will just go be a couch potato. LOL That's where I will gain the weight doing nothing towards the end. I will try to find something to do to occupy my day where I don't have to sit and snack on stuff. My SIL was asking if I would like to work for them for awhile editing pictures online and fixing their website for their company. I will most likely do it to earn a little money on the side.
Mommy - Does your mom take the girls often? Its nice sometimes to have a night alone once in awhile huh? I don't want to sound selfish but sometimes we deserve it. Moms are very greatly appreciated when it comes to grandchildren :D
Laurie - When I rub on my stomach I feel like it has grown quite a bit too. Also I measured myself around my bellybutton area and I now measure at 40 1/2 inches. I grew an inch and a half in one month. I marked it down on the calendar. Then this sunday I will take my belly shot to mark my 25th week.
I had the weirdest dream last night about me having my baby which was already an infant and had light hair like my DD slightly red when in the sun. BTW it was a boy. LOL For some reason he looked like a Matthew to me so I said your name should be Matthew. I think that dream was so ironic for me because I wasn't thinking much of the sex of the baby but then again I had that dream. Do you think its a sign or something or am I putting too much into it. Well on my 27th week I am still going to do a 3d u/s. So that can be a reassurance too. Ok ladies I will rest now. Check in later.
