Hello ladies! I'm hoping you can help me out! I am 10dpo, and had bloodwork done last week to make sure the clomid was working. My doctor told me today that they like to see progesterone levels higher than 3-5. Mine were 23. Does progesterone increase when you're pregnant? I don't know much about it, but I'm hoping this is a good sign. I'd love any input!

Thanks!
Donna

I'm pretty sure they do. I have to take Progesterone now because I am pregnant and have had 3 previous miscarriages which may have been from low hormone levels. I had my Progesterone tested two weeks ago and it was 23.1 which they said was good. So that sounds REALLY good for you! Good luck!!!

Thank you both for your replies! I'm hoping that means that this could be my month! Hopefully I'll get some good news in the next couple of days!

Thanks,

Yes indeed, I just got my Blood work done and they increase to 25 from the usual 3-5 range. That is a huge sign. GOOD NEWS HUN!!! The progesterone is very important to mantain the pregnancy. It prevent the Corpus Luteal from shedding off and getting your period. It works closely with the HCG hormone on Maintaining the pregnancy on the first trimester.

If I was you I will run and get a pregnancy test. It looks to me that you are pregnant.

GOOD LUCK & BABY DUST :) :) :) :D

Donna- Progesterone absolutely increased when you are pregnant, however, I'm not sure that it would be increasing due to pregnancy at 10dpo. My RE usually does a day 21 progesterone test (7dpo) so see if I ovulated 'well' (good, mature egg). They usually want it to be at about a 12 so show good ovualation. I have actually had my day 21 test come back at 218 (on injectibles!), and not been pregnant, and I'll tell you, I was shocked. With my progesterone so high, I was positive that I was pregnant, and even went out to buy a little onsie to give to my DH as a way to tell him. Anyway, the fact that yours is at 23, 2x what they want it to be, is a GREAT sign that your body is preparing itself for pregnancy, and that your uterus is very ready to nourish a little baby.

When do you test?

Good luck!!!!

Thank you all! You're really helping me feel positive about this cycle! I took a test this morning, it was a BFN. But, I'm only 11 dpo, so I'm hoping within the next few days. Howver, I've been getting cramps today (which always happens with AF) so I'm prepared if it's not my month. I'll let you know one way or the other!

Thanks so much!
