Question from new member

Greetings all of you. I just found this website. I thought I would just ask you all if you have every had OHSS? I just had a transfer ( my first ivf) and I am already extreemly bloated and my left ovary is the size of a grapefruit! I am in a decent amount of discomfort. Also how many days did you guys lay in bed after the transfer?

pvk- I had OHSS from IUI a few years ago. I actually didn't have extreme symptoms until 12 dpiui when I was dx with OHSS and my beta came back at 45. I was bloated and on bedrest for most of the 1st trimester and had to go back to work at 10 weeks looking like I was 6 months pregnant. I know that a big worry for the docs is that your enlarged ovaries will twist and blood supply will be cut off to them. Also, they need to watch the fluid collecting in your abdomen. I would suggest that you get plenty of rest, drink LOTS of gatorade, and eat mainly protein. If it gets really uncomfortable, call your RE, they might want to u/s your tummy again. I hope that your OHSS symptoms are a good sign and that you soon get your BFP! Good luck!

Like Char said drink lots of fluid! Stay away from foods and beverages high in sodium.
