hi, i was just wondering since i think i know what vitamins my DH should be taking, what about me? I'm taking a prenatal and vitamin C but i read somewhere that extra Folic acid is good for implantation and something about pineapple juice? thanks!
Dear Elle,
Vitamins and minerals are needed for the whole process from beginning to end. Folic acid has a number of different functions from minimizing spinal bifida defects to helping in the formations of enzymes for pregnancy. Zinc is crucial as Zinc with Folic acid minimize miscarriage due to heart defects at the nine week point. Zinc is also used to make Testosterone in both sexes but in a woman a small amount in the ovary helps you to ovulate and allow for other functions which allow the egg to be penetrated. Selenium is needed to make an enzyme to make a certain antioxident which protects from implantation to delivery of the child from free radical damage in the developing stages. Magnesium is needed to produce the enzyme with arginine which produces the enzyme which allows implantation of the embryo. Vit B-12 and B-6 are needed. The B-12 to unitilize the B-6. B-6 in large amounts gives great amounts of high quality cervical mucus. Vitamins A,C,E are for free radicals as the toughness of the hide of the egg is determined by exposure to radicals and in this case it takes a tough vitamin to make a tender egg. Basically every vit and mineral is needed somewhere in the process either in a man or woman to concieve.
Now the thing about pineapples is interesting as eating them supplies vits plus frutose but there is an enzyme which is destroyed in the stomach which can cause spontaneous abortions if it gets in the bloodstream. The actual premise which it works on is if you are low in vits, eating this raises your health to concieve by the boosting your system. So eating the pineapple is good for you.
Elle I hope this helps.
