Well i will remind you on our situtation ...Dhs sa came back 28 mill w/ low morph 1.5 %. Put dh on fertility blend, pycognal, mega men, through away his briefs, ditched the waterbed, stopped drinking/smoking, and cut back on caffine.
iui 1 afterwash 5.1 mill-i had 1 egg (clomid)
iui 2 afterwah 6.4 mill-i had 2 eggs (clomid)
iui 3 afterwash 22 mill-i had 5 eggs (clomid/gonalf combo)lining was too thin
iui 4 afterwash 8 mill-i had 2 eggs (follistim)
which brings us to now iui 5 our last and final iui. Re is letting us do what ever we want...iuis 2 days in a row or freezing dhs sample before the iui and mixing the frozen sample with the normal iui sample.
She said if we freeze usually only like 15% of the sperm is viable and with dhs numbers so low...would that really matter?
If we did iuis 2 days in a row im sure the second sample will also be low.
What do you suggest? Its our last chance we want to do what ever will help us increase our chances...

I would go with the second IUI with a very long arousal time on him like 45 minutes or more. I want you to use every trick you know to run his blood pressure up and keep it up for that time for that sample. This will improve the quality of what you get in both motility and morph. He will be asleep or exhausted 5 minutes after that sample as your pulling it from his toes if that makes sense. He will be pumping up sperm and fully energizing them so the max is gotten. Odds wise this is the maximum for success.

hi! we always do 2 IUI's. My RE told me that it wasn't worth freezing my DH's sperm because most of it would die off. Most of the time his count is a lot worse the next day but last time it was the exact same count as the first IUI. I think you have the best chance with 2, its almost like double the numbers! Rich-thanks! I think we are doing the whole shabang freezing and 2 iuis...I usually dont go with my dh for the sample...maybe i should?

This answer is going to be a little TMI so please forgive me. No woman can really do a man for a sample because it's his property and he knows how to exactly do it and that is the problem. He is going in the room to give the sample as quick as possible and while they may put on movies and give him magazines he isn't going to be aroused the time he needs to give the sample quality we need. You on the other hand can make him walk on his toes and not fire off and can keep him fired up and pumping those sperms. It also takes the stress factor out of the sample and you can chose when it fires via a watch on your wrist. A sample that way will be considerably larger, more in count per ml, greater motility and better morphing than a regular lets get it out sample as everything is fresh from the pumping up. This also allows the second days count to be as good as the first day. Good luck.

Do they allow this? Going in with your husband (in the room to help him with his sample??) I've only done 1 IUI and he went alone and I went later.

Hi Aidian,
My DH counts are usually really low. With my DD it worked with only 2 million. Now when we started the 1st IUI it was 7 the 2nd it was 5 and then the 3rd was only 3. I took a break these past 2 months but i'm sure when i get back the numbers won't be any better. I guess its all luck at this point!

Of course you can go in there. Its a privateroom. Many wives don't know they can go with him and so he goes alone. Many of the clinics and doctors like the wife to be in there but don't mention it because as strange as it sounds some women take offense to what is done and others have their personnal dislikes about touching their husbands in that method.

Printed this it for dh and put it by his morning coffee....Rich do you think maybe an acupuncture session or massage the day before would help?

The use of accupuction or massage for you is a great idea as sucess rates increase I believe by 20% but for him that should of been done months ago as your dealing with a situation where what he produces today was formed approx 74 days ago. With you the relief of stress changes your hormones slightly and allows far more favorible conditions wombwise for the inplantation of an embryo. Lets face it, the process of dealing with doctors, side effects of the drugs, worrying about everything doesn't help the TTC with the body. Its alot easier with a I don't give a darn attitute. With that go for the massage and acupunction for you. We are trying to weigh everything in your favor. As for him, the mind is a powerful weapon in your favor, use it. If you told him at the breakfast table I'm going to do something special to you later at the doctor's office and left it at that, his mind would take over and run with it, arousing him and starting the process. Its a hell of a thing to say but your womanly wiles and power of a seductress is going to make the day. So goodluck, dust, I know you can do it.
