Hi everyone,
I am running out of things to feed my 10 month old. I feel so bad for him- he must be sick of my cooking already! Does anyone have any suggestions? Here are some things I feed him...
Avocado chunks
Squash chunks
peas (flattened so he doesn't choke)
green beans
carrots
sweet potato (yam)
toast
waffles
rice
ground beef
chicken/turkey
apple
pear
cheese (chunks and in a grilled cheese)
I have tried but he doesn't like kiwi and watermelon. I am desperate for some yummy choices for him. I feel like he gets the same thing everyday! I make my own baby food, and have even tried the jarred chunky food for a change but he gags on it!
Any help?

Rich, thanks for the input. I know you have helped a lot of people on these boards- now I am getting your wisdom too! Yeah
What is farina or wheatena?
Here is Canada they recommend that you do not give honey to children under the age of two because of the increased risk on catching botchulism...I know we all had honey as babies...I think my mom even put it on my soother!!!
thanks !!!

oops I meant to type "here in Canada"...sorry haven't had my morning coffee yet!!
Dear Maple,
Farina is similar to grits except it is made from wheat and not corn. Wheatena is farina which they have added some toasted farina to it for flavor. I understand the concern about honey if it isn't stored properly use maple syrup instead then as it has been boiled to concentrate it and pasturized and gives flavor.

I say if your kid eats all the food you give him. Then don't worry about it, you may be "bored" with his selection, but he loves it, especially if he was repulsed at the jared food selection.
One of my nieces is 4 1/2 and she eats chicken soup every single day at my mothers house during the week, and she has been eating that since she began on solids. My mother tried to give her something different once, and she went nuts and was like "wheres my chicken soup?!" My mom had to whip a batch up for her then and there! My other niece who is 9, is like that as well, she won't have eggs any other way except for hard boiled and she throws the yolk out because she feels bad knowing thats where the chickies come from, too cute.
Again, as long as he eats his food and is gaining weight, theres no cause to go out of your way to find new foods. When the summer comes, you will have a whole new selection of fresh produce he can have. My nieces love tomatoes and cucumbers.

Have you tried mashed bananas or applesauce? I think I started yogurt around that time with my first. I used the yo baby kind made with whole milk. How about noodles? It sounds like he is already eating a lot of good stuff. I still can't get my 3 year old to eat meat (except chicken nuggets and hot dogs-which I don't give her more than once a week). My other daughter Anna is almost 9 months and we have only had cheerios, cheese and peas.
I feel like I can't remember what I did the first time around and she is only 3.

I have completely forgotten what I fed DD and she is only 3 years old. My friends laugh at me because for the longest time I fed her the lean cuisine meals...well, it was just the right amount of chicken/veg/rice!!!
I have tried bannanas...he's not a fan! I haven't tried applesauce. I will give that a shot. I did forget to add that I have given him pasta and he does like that too.
It is true, I am probably the one that is bored of feeding him the same thing!
I just feel bad that he might be bored.
Thanks for everyone's help. I think I saw grits once when I was in Florida...I am not even sure if you can buy grits in the regular grocery store here. I am sure if I looked, I'd find them....

I'm Italian and the pastene (the little tiny pasta granules) with the water it's boiled in and a bit of ricotta always goes down well with kids as well.
