Hi I just thought I would start a thread for moms of multiples. I actually have 3 other children, but things are totally different with my twinkies. I felt like a new parent all over again! I wanted us to have a place to compare, complain, and support eachother.

Beth- Have your twins started talking to each other. Mine will sit there and babble in a funny language then laugh. It's great!

Hello other mommies of multiples,

My boy and girl, Maggie and Ben, are 10 months old. Boy, was it tough in the beginning. I am not even going to TRY to sugar coat it. The first four months were unreal (much of this being Maggie's colic), but still. They have never really slept well, and only this past month, after crying it out, have we all started to get some sleep.

They are amazing now, though. Just the happiest, most beautiful babies. Ben is crawling an beginning to walk, while Maggie hasn't even started crawling yet. I guess she figures "Why should I?"

Anyway, good idea to post this thread. I hope to keep it going.

Sara- Glad you joined us. I think we are all going to learn and help each other out a lot.

Ok ladies, I've been thinking about going back to work part time but I feel guilty about it. The DILEMA! But then I am also up in arms because I am going to do my FET in June. I don't know what to do!

Hi Ladies! i am so glad we are getting this thread going.

Jen, the twins do seem to do baby talk to eachother. It is so weird. Of course they are so little it is just babble, but they look at eachother like they are telling an inside joke!

Mel, everything is blurry when I think back to when my twins were 12 days old! LOL! I think it was all about getting into sleep & breast feed routines!! Oh but it was so worth it!

Sbear, I am so glad you posted. My twins will be turning 8 months on the 3rd of February. One is crawling all over the place and the other just watches! He waves his arms and legs and looks like a fish trying to swim, but won't get in the crawling position. It was good to know that one of your twins still isn't crawling. I was really starting to stress about it even though the doctor told me it was normal.

Jen, If I didn't have to work, I wouldn't. But as you know I have 5 kids (one in college) and now a brand new house. There is no way we could do it without 2 incomes. (Plus I am pretty used to spending a pretty penny! LOL!) But every once in a while I will buy a lotto ticket, thinking just maybe I'll win and can just stay home without changing my life style!!

Okay, I have to say that we mom's can be superheroes!! My DH left me for 4 days and I was a little nervous having a 7, 5 and (2) 8 month old children to take care of. BUT I DID IT!!!! I really didn't have any problems! Then Saturday night I got one of the girls dh and I get to babysit for us come to watch the kids while I went to dinner with a girlfriend. I probably had a more relaxing time than when my DH is home! LOL!

HI Ladies- Well my little hace been having power struggles all day. If one has a toy the other one takes and it vice versa. It's actaully funny to see there expressions but I'm trying to get them to share nice.
My little guy thinks it funny to tease sister with her toys. She was playing with her puppy adn he took it from her. She yelled at him and then he looked at it and said "TAKE IT" and handed it to her. Then he took it again. This went on for about a half hour/

Twins are funny!

Today my little guy took a Kix and put it on his upper lip, then he stuck out his tongue and let it slide down to his tonge andhten ate it. IT was so funny. Of course sister is there sheering him on! LOL

Hi everyone. I hope you all are doing well.

Well I am starting to worry again. William still isn't crawling and he will turn 9 months on March 3rd. He is lifting up a lot better, and i know the doctor says some babies take longer, but the worry wart is creeping back! Any input?

Beth

Jenifer
02/21/2006, 01:39 PM
Beth- Don't worry. MY little lady didn't do a real crawl until after she turned "1" . She just started walking with furniture on Feb 4th. She has been only standing up by herself for a few says now. SHe is my lazy little lady and is in no hurry to do anything like her brother. Now my little man has hit every milestone either to the text book or early.

Remember these little people will do things when they are ready. As my doctor said with multiples sometimes one of the kids prefers to sit back and watch the other do everything.

Melgrem
02/21/2006, 02:29 PM
That's the truth. My little boy is already rolling over and has been for a few weeks now. I know that it's early. But my little girl has no intrest. She is such a little lady. She just wait's for us to do it for her. They are such fun.

HERES MY VENT
I took the twins to there new EArly Childhood Class yesterday (I've been bringing them to play groups and early childhood groups since Last September.). There was this little boy there that kept head butting my DS. The mother of this childhood approved of this behavior! Now my DS has a big bruise on his head. I'm so ticked.

Then last night I took the twins to swim class. My swim suit does not look very nice on me. SO I wore swim shorts and a t-shirt. The lady that runs the program told me that I wa to be in a swim suit next time or I could not get into the pool! What a day.

I just kept moving my son, in hopes that the other parent would get the picture! I am going to say something next Monday if the kid does it again. This lady is either oblivious to what her kid is doing or she just has no common sense at how dangerous head butting is.

WE just got over battling the flu. My poor little ones were so sick. I ended up giving them pediolyte through a syringe because they would drink.

We go next week for our 2 month check up. And our first round of shots. What fun. They are just getting so big so fast.

Ok Ladies be prepared for some funny stuff!

My little guy decided he was going to change sisters diaper! He took a diaper from the box and started waving it as to open it up. He then took his sister by the legs and was placing her in the diaper changing position. Then he proceeded to pull the tape off of the diaper she was wearing.
We laughed so hard!

Then at bed time. They were put in there beds. I snuck a peek because I could here giggling. There they both were with there diapers off and they were waving them in the air!!!!

So we get them situated and diapers and clothes back on. The next thing you here is this funny jibberish talk and then "It's ok baby" then the funny talk again.

What a hoot! Having twins is so much fun.

Hello
Natalie and Rebecca are doing good but the dr wants them to gain weight. When they were born Becca weighed 5 lbs 6 oz snd Naty at 4 lbs 12 oz. They went down to (Becca) 4 8oz and (Naty) 4 5oz. On their 2 week check up they only went up a few ozs each both still under 5 lbs. Their doc told us that they should be around 6 lbs. I am having trouble with my milk supply so they have been mostly on formula. I am not supplying enough milk that they were always hungry and not gaining. I'm pumping but I feel as if I'm not doing a good job as a mom. DH tells me otherwise but its hard when you wanted to do the breastfeeding. I cried a few days because I felt like a failure. They have another appt this Friday to check their weight, cross your fingers. Thou I want to BF the most important thing is that they are gaining and doing well. I just need to tell myself that.:)
Hope everyone is doing well.

cHERYL- your not a bad mom. Sometimes it takes a little while for the milk supply to build up. Have you talked with a lactacion nurse at your clinic?

03/22/2006, 09:33 PM
Cheryl, Please don't feel bad. I had one of my twins who had to gain weight so I had to supplement also. But I pumped continuously (I found that the double pump was the best for stimulation of milk production). Also at one point my production was not doing to hot and my physician put me on reglan (which I believe is for reflux) to stimulate production. I had to give my twins a high calorie formula plus breast milk that I pumped whenever I had enough. Don't worry at one point my husband couldn't believe how much I was producing and thought we could open a factory!! My problem at that time was that with my babies they were eating more ounces than average, (they are boys). Good luck and try not to worry.

Mel, congrats on going back to work. It was hard for me at first, but I have to admit I rest more at work! LOL!

Jenifer- I was able to carry the boys 35 weeks 5 days and could have gone longer but my dr was going out of town. I had an amnio and everything looked good so we delivered.

Mel- It is a challenge daily, I can't do it by myself and that drives me crazy but I have come to accept it for now. As they get older I know I can handle it but right now they are so needy that is impossible to do it alone. My dh has been wonderful but he goes back to work on Monday. Rebecca was 4 lbs 15oz and went to 5lbs 9oz (birth weight was 5lbs 6oz) and Natalie was 4 lbs 8oz and went to 5lbs 4oz (birth weight 4lbs 12oz). Becca gained 10oz and Naty 12oz. Hi! Melgrem mentioned this thread so I thought I would stop over. I am pregnant with my first and found out yesterday it is twins. I am only 6 wks along. My questions is my re said yesterday that they were measuring at 5wks but that is plus or minus a week. So I thought "don't worry, if you add a week then you are right on target" but then today I looked at the u/s pics they gave me and one sayd 4w 3d and the other twin says 4w 5d. So...should I be concerned? ANd when did you all see the heartbeat? They didn't see a heartbeat in either one but said that it is still early. I just need some reassurance or if this sounds bad for someone to give me a heads up. Thanks!

PuubearsDH
03/29/2006, 01:39 PM
Thats pretty normal for that timeframe! they grow pretty fast at that age and i believe that you shouldnt be concerned about size untill they are farther along ( ~12wks). I believe that my twins were a little off at first but they caught up. My friend had a baby recently that was behind but caught up in the last month. dont worry! you have so much time for them to grow! the measurements are an estimate of age and not exact! Also gestational age is never 100% accurate. Also the HB didnt show on our twins untill they were about 11wks.

Congrats!:)

This may sound like a silly question but when do you call your baby a month old. My girls were born on the 3rd of march. Are they a month on the 3rd of april or this friday? According to my ticker below they will be a month this friday. My cousin told me to count it on the 3rd. I thought it was the 3rd of April and still do but when you count the calender day the numbers don't add up, this friday will be 4 months. Silly question huh? DH thought I was weird when I brought the question to him but he understood after I explained what I was getting at. Sorry:D

Susan- Good luck on your venture to find a ped. I live in a small town so everyone here knows the dr's. When I have the twins at the appts. The ped always asks me how my oldest is doing and refers to by name (If that gives you an idea of how small are town is!)

Hi Susan!! Congratulations again! It seems like so long ago we were going through the fertility together! And 2 boys!! That is wonderful! I actually didn't interview any pediatricians because I work for doctors and went by their recommendations. I think the best things to think about is what is your personal philosophy. There are doctors that are very new and sometimes overly cautious. Then there are those that are old school and not cautious enough. I am lucky to have one that is sort of middle of the road and has experience with taking care of multiples. Finding out their experience with multiples is really important. I had 3 other children before my twins, but found that it is a whole different story with multiples. Especially when they are born early (which most are).

Just wanted to see how everyone was doing? Both of my girls are doing good. They finally have broken the 6lb mark :p :D !! Took a few to get there but we made it and hopefully we don't start going the other direction.
They are still small but getting heavy.
Natalie has an eye infection from having a clogged tear duct and both have their first cold. The cold makes me nervous from all the mucus, stuffy noses and the gasping and gagging from them breathing.
I think Naty may have an allergy to milk but it's still unknown. She is on soy but the soy if making her consipated (SP) which makes her scream when she is having a bowel movement because the stool is so hard. Does anyone have any advise on another formula that can help with the poss. milk allergy without conspitation? We are on goodstart.

Cheryl- Sounds like the girls are doing great except the milk issue. The only other thing I know of giving kids is goat milk and I think it has to be special ordered. We neighbor as kids whose child had to drink it.

Good Luck

Hi Ladies :) How is everyone? We are great here. The last few day's Michael has been wanting to eat every 2hrs. instead of 3 hrs. He act's like he is staving to death. My ped. wants to wait untill they are 4 months to start cereal. Do you think that it is too early. I want them to have just breast milk for as long as they can, but I don't want them to be hungry.

Hello you busy mommies of multiples.

I just want to reply to Mel - I post on the Feb mommies thread when I have a break from my 6 monsters...oops...children, lol.

Anyway, it sounds like Michael is going through a growth spurt. They say that at 3w, 6w, and 3months the baby goes through a period of a few days where they eat more frequently in order to boost the milk supply. Then they go back to eating at the same frequency as previously, but now they are getting more milk.

Hopefully he will get back on his regular schedule soon. As far as cereal at 4 months, this is the accepted time of starting food. It is not imperative that they get cereal so young. I usually try to wait until 6 months because my DH has lots of allergies and they say that breast milk until 6 months helps reduce the chances of allergies. A lot of mothers who exclusively BF say they wait until the baby appears to want to eat - like opening their mouth while they watch you eat.

Good luck and lots of strength in dealing with your twins.

Nkochma ~ Thanks for the input. I kind of thought it was a growth spurt. But I've never had one last for a week. Usually it is just a few days. I agree with just breast milk for as long as I can. It is the best.

Hi everyone. I just thought I'd check in. Easter was great, but the twins were really oblivious to the whole Easter thing! LOL! Will started running fever on Thursday followed by several days of having a runny nose. So he wasn't in the greatest mood. It is so hard when they get sick. And, John is going through a stage where he wants me to hold him the minute he sees me. I got home the other day and got on the floor to play with them. He crawled up to me and climbed on me. Then his brother did the same. The minute his brother climbed on top, he started screaming and pulling at his brother's hands! I couldn't believe it! I have a feeling this stage is going to be a trying one! LOL

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. IT's been a while for me. Natalie and I have colds and I hope that Rebecca don't catch it. This week has been hard and long for us, on Easter we found out that one of my older neices who had been staying with us for the easter week has lice. We have been washing and cleaning since sunday. Since the girls are under 2 and I am nursing we can't do treatment so I've been checking the girls everyday but I think their hair is so fine that I don't think they will get it but I want to take that chance. Just last night Natalie (her being sick) got a fever of 100 but it broke about 9pm (thank god). I was about to take her to the hosptial. Today Natalie woke up with a rash on her face, ears, neck and upper chest so I took her to the dr and then noticed that bec had a small one too. Then about 12 noon both girls started crying and screaming and wouldn't stop until 9pm. When is the age that they just want to eat and eat and eat? It seems as if they wan't to eat every 2 hours. I hear it's the growing period. Dh and I just got them to sleep (it's 1045pm) one by one.
That's today hopefully tomorrow will be better. Tomorrow's another day. I feel as if I wan't to go to work and have DH stay home so he can see whats it's like. :p
Hope everyones doing good

Hi everyone. I just wanted to check in on everyone. Our thread was getting lost! I hope you all are fine.

I have been busy with work and then of course my older boys and the twinkies. They will be 11 months old next week. It is unbelievable! And we are about to build a pool. Our former home had a pool and the older boys and dh really wanted one with the new house, so I gave in. But then a couple of weeks ago I became very nervous about it. So now I told dh we have to have a pool fence within the back yard and a pool cover. They are already wanting to come and draw it out on the yard tomorrow and start digging next week. We still have to get a written agreement from our neighbor that we can access her yard. I am a nervous wreck! I can't believe pools cost so much to build too! So heaven knows this month is going to be nerve wracking!

Hi ladies....I just had twin girls (Sydney and Sophie) on June 8th, they were early...developed pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome so they did an emergency c-section at 31 weeks and 2 days. They are both still in the NICU and I was wondering if anyone else was in my shoes. I am going to the hospital twice a day and they have started bottle feeding. One is doing better than the other and is 4 lbs 2 oz, the other is 3 lb 2 oz. Dr. said I would be bringing home one before the other. I am worrying about this as I am stressed about how I will get to the hospital everyday to visit Sydney while having Sophie at home. DH is very busy working (he owns his own construction company and has 5 jobs going simultaneously). Just wondered if anyone was in my shoes and could offer words of wisdom. I do have Mom and others near by so I know we could arrange them to watch Sophie while DH and I go to hospital, I just want to make sure I go once a day to see Sydney as I would feel extremely guilty if I didn't make it up there daily!!

Also I have been pumping like a machine bringing breast milk to the hospital. I was wondering how in the world will I manage feeding two at night? I haven't even tried to bf them, not allowed yet and I was planning on cont. to pump if I could and have DH help with feedings. Should I just get up early to pump then have DH feed one and me feed one in the night? How does that work? If I count my pumping and feeding times I swear I will never get any sleep and maybe that's what I need to do. I am pumping 4 oz every 2 hours or 8 oz every 4 hours which won't be enough for them when they come home anyways. Right now their feeds are so little I am able to freeze a lot. They are only on about 1 oz every 3 hours in the NICU.

Well as you can see I am new to this whole thing and just wondering if you ladies had some words of wisdom for me. I can't wait to get BOTH my babies home...but that probably won't be happening for at least 2-4 weeks. It is tough but I will manage. Any support you can provide will be MUCH appreciated. THANK YOU!!

Becky ~ Congralutations on the birth of your baby girls. I don't have any advice about bring home one baby before the other. I was lucky and both of my babies got to come home with me. I would just try to take one day at a time. I know you feel like you want and need to be at the hospital. But if for some reson you can not make it there once you know your little girl is in the best hands possible. About the breast milk. I'm bf my two. And I know when yours start demaning more milk your body will make more. I could always tell when mine were going through a growing spurt. My milk would always increase. I'm also pumping for the most part these days. It works best for me now. Some times I meet myself coming back. But it is so worth it. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Best of luck to you and you family. I hope it's not long before you family is all together again. I don't know if I was much help.

Becky - I am in the same situation as you. I had b/g twins on June 1st at 34w1d. My daughter was 5lbs and my son was 3lbs, 2oz. Their size difference was one reason my doctors had me deliver early. We just brought home our daughter 2 days ago. It will be another week or so before our son can come home.

I only have a few minutes right now (I'm pumping at the moment!) so I'll respond with more thoughts later. Can you bring Sophie with you to the nursery when you visit Sydney? I just did that for the first time today. The nurses encouraged me to do so. I was able to bf Jackson while Caitlin was asleep in her infant car seat carrier. Then I bf Caitlin and pumped at the hospital before I headed home. I only live 15 minutes from the hospital but it has been a struggle to get there 1-2x/day. I too, feel guilty for not being there for every feeding.

If your daughters are being bottle fed then why can't you bf them? At the beginning I wasn't allowed to bf my twins either, but it was only because they needed to gain some weight so they'd have more energy to bf. I was eventually allowed to bf them every few feedings, and the other feedings were done via bottle or gavage (tube down their nose or throat) if they were too sleepy for the bottle.

I got a slow start on the pumping and am still having problems with the quantity. I only get 2oz total at each pumping session (every 2-3 hours). Both my kids are being supplemented with formula for now. I'm hoping that once both kids are home and bf'ing my production will increase.

I'll share some more thoughts later - I've got to get a nap in while I can! Best of luck to you & congratulations! Don't beat yourself up over not being able to be with your twins all the time. You'll have them 24hrs/day soon enough!

- Anne

I didn't realize we had a multiples thread here - yea!

Our girls were born exactly at 36wks via c/s. They came 1 week earlier than our planned c/s due to preeclampsia. Sophia was 5lbs 12 oz & Lillianna was 4lbs 15oz. Sophie had a few problems breathing but was able to room with me a few hours later & Lillie was ready before I was. I was able to bring both girls home with me and other than a bit of jaundice the girls have regained their birthweight and doing well.

Here is my dilemna...Sunday my 9yr old dss came to visit from New Jersey. He is a very sickly child & dh and I had discussed that if he was sick we would delay this visit. When he went to pick him up he didn't realize until on the plane home that he had a runny nose. As soon as he said hello to me I could tell he had a cold. Of course I was livid but he was here and it wasn't like we could just take him back home. We tried disinfecting everything & keeping him away from the girls, but by Tuesday dh was very sick & as of yesterday Sophie is congested. Lillie has a temp of 98.9 - just shy of that 99 fever. I called the dr this morning to see what to do. With dh being sick & I need his help - especially since both babies just want to be held, what do I do?? Any advice on this would be great!

Anne: I'm glad to see your twins are here! That is wonderful that you were able to bring home Caitlin & it sounds like Jackson is doing well.

Becky: Congrats on your girls! I've been able to BF & although there have been some days where that is all I do ALL DAY LONG, we have been able to do it

Natalie, Anne and Mel....THANK YOU for your responses, they are very helpful. It's sometimes just helpful to know there are others out there in the same shoes! I am sure I will find a schedule/pattern that works for me, it's just that nervous thing in the beginning. I want so bad to be the best MOM and do whatever I can for them and it is disheartening to know I will have one here and one there.

Anne I thought about bringing Sophie to the hospital with me for the visits then I thought that wouldn't be good with getting her out and having her exposed to germs, etc. and still not being at term. I thought that might not be good for her, that's all I need is to get her sick then I would feel HORRIBLE. But you bring up a good point I will ask the nurses for their advice on the situation. Thanks for your help!

Natalie, you are in a tough spot! Is there any family members or friends that can help with the twins until DH gets better? Also this may sound crazy but I have a friend in Chicago that had twins and DH was sick and she made him wear a surgical mask when he was around the girls. She said he wasn't fond of the idea but she said it's that or nothing because I can't chance them getting sick. Also make sure DH and DSS wash their hands frequently.....and I mean frequently, sometimes guys don't get that! Anyways best of luck~

Becky: Thanks for the tips - I'm sure we'll get through it. How is your Sophie doing (do you name her Sophie or Sophia - we did Sophia & are calling her Sophie)? I love the name Sydney too! Did you end up taking her to the hospital with you? I know what you mean about wanting to be the best mom. We tried for these girls for such a long time & I don't want anything to happen. During this morning's feeding as I was watching Sophie strugge with her congestion I was just crying, feeling like I failed the girls for allowing them to get sick.

UGGHH! I just got a call from Peg Perego who makes the stroller system we are using. THey are recalling my stroller due to a wheel problem and it will take 9-10wks for me to get it back. THey are giving me one of their side by side strollers which is worth about $350, but that doesn't help me b/c the girls are too small to use a side by side. I can't function without a stroller, I can't carry 2 carseats around, & I don't know what I am going to do. How can I go to the mall or dr's appts or grocery shopping???

I am just sick about this. I can't stand feeling trapped & that is what I am going to be until I get my stroller back.

The only option I have is a jogging stroller I was going to get & use as the side by side - but the girls can't use it until they can hold their heads & be stable - about 6-8wks. Even if that works - I still have to take them out of their carseats to use it.

What a mess. Any suggestions?

Hi ladies.
been so busy with the girls. Found out Rebecca is allergic to milk because there was blood in her stool so we had to switch her to soy but ever since we put her on the soy she has been refusing to drink. Today she only has been drinking 2oz out of the 4 and skipped a feeding. I think she may be teething but i don't know if it is too early for her to be getting the symptoms.

At first I didn't think she liked the taste of the soy because she would cry at every feeding and skipped feedings. I was a little nervous but she is 12.5 lbs. She gained 1.5 in 2 weeks. Natalie is 11.2. both girls have GERD but Natalie has it worse. She has been spitting up alot that her gastro dr thinks that is why she hasn't been gaining.

Becky72- congrats on your new arrivals!!

Ladies be prepared for the funniest language ever! My twins have been talking more and more in there special twin language. IT is so funny. Recently they have really been carrying on LONG conversations.

Yesterday when we were visiting Grandma, my little guy noticed that grandma was serving herself up abowl of jello. So he went running out to his sister and preceeded to talk to her in the funny language. Then we hear him say to her LOOK an dhe was pointing at Grandma. So she went running over to peak. Then she ran back to her brother and they started talking agin in the funny langauge. Then they both took off running and climbed into Grandmas chai to wait for her.

It was so adorable.

Today DH and I were driving into the parking lot of a local supermarket when this man drove in before us and then all of a sudden backed up and hit us! We had the girls in the car! There was damage to our car.
I don't know if I was mean but as DH and the man were exchanging info I took Rebecca out of the car and walked up to both men, The man looked at her and looked shocked to see a baby and asked if she was okay. I answered back "I have two babies in the car!"

He started angrly telling us that it was our fault and DH started back at him until I told him to stop and wait for the insurance comp.

He was backing up into a busy street and thats where we were.

Both girls are doing well besides the teething (I think Natalie is starting to teeth too )
From different people telling to change the carseats after an accident I started to get worried.
Even though it wasn't huge but enough I decided to call our CHP office and found out that it is a new law that we are suppose to replace the carseat after ANY accident. I was like oh s**t, I can't afford two seats now.
When I called I found out that our insurance company is suppose to reburse us for the seats to get new ones.

Thank GOD!!!

I wish none of this happened!

Puubear - your girls are so beautiful!! Crazy on the accident, I get so nervous driving them around b/c people are so careless!

Sunny:
1. Delivered exactly at 36wks due to High Blood Pressure - was scheduled for c/s at 37wks1day.
2. I am opening a Dairy Queen & work primarily from home with my little bro in the store as my operating partner. (We started the project before we started the IVF - I wanted a project to keep me busy & occupied if it didn't work considering we were out of options after the IVF). I thought it would be a cake walk to keep working from home with the paperwork, reports, phone calls, etc. - this first month I haven't done anything except a few phone calls. The girls are sleeping a bit longer (I am bf so my free time is limited to between feedings) and I am finally able to start some work back but it is very limited & this has only been an option in the last 3 days.
3. We bought a co-sleeper from Arms Reach (it is available at BRU & pretty much anywhere like that). It has been perfect for my c/s recovery & having the girls right next to the bed.

Hope this helps!

Sunny:

I went back to work when my girls were 10 weeks old and I absolutely hate being away from them! I'm an attorney and never ever thought I would want to be a SAHM. I guess you never really know until you have babies how you will feel about leaving them every day. My husband and I have decided to sell our dream house that we just bought a year ago and downsize so that I can work part-time and take care of the girls. There's just no way that I can keep working full-time and bringing them to day care every day. It just isn't the right thing for my family!

Good luck with your pregnancy - and don't worry so much! Everything will work out just fine. :)

I also used a moses basket during the day when they were little. I loved it. What a life saver. Now just one baby at a time in it.

How is everyone? We are great. We went to the Dr. yesterday for our 6 month check-up. (ALREADY) They are growing great. They did much better with this set of shots than the last. The last set had them kind of fussy for a day or so. We also got Anna Claire's ear's pierrced. I think I had more tears than she did. But I glad that I did it. How everyone is well.

Everything is going good here. We are just so busy. These 2 keep me on the go. There favorite saying right now is "GO GO GO".
The transition from the crib to teh Big Kids Beds went better then I expected.
They grow up so fast!

Rebecca is driving me up the wall. SHe doesn't eat and she has a hard time falling asleep.
I give them both 5 oz and Rebecca fights when it is feeding time. Once in a while she drinks the full 5 oz but lately she has taken 2 or 3 oz and that is it. We have to fight with her to take that! It seems like she hates food. We took her an appt a few weeks ago and they weighed her. SHe only gained 2oz in 2 weeks but grew 1 inch. I got worried about her food intake and still am.

Today in the morning she ate her full 5oz and then went down for a nap. Woke up, 12 had another feeding but only ate 3oz. 1 hour later went down for a nap and woke up 1 hour later. I tried to put her down again but wouldn't take it so I brought her downstairs with me before she woke up her sister.
At 4 she was given another feeding and only took 1 oz. I thought she should be tired up fought with me to go to sleep. I waited another hour and put Natalie down. I then took Rebecca to my room where it is dark. She screamed bloody murder. SHe had been awake since 2 and now finding I got her to go to sleep at 5:45.
SHe slept for 30 minutes and now I can hear her over moniter.
If this is teething I don't know what to do. I gave her some hyland's teething tablets and nothing. I swaddled her and nothing.

THe babies that have teeth and/or are teething. Is this normal?
I know she has to be teething she is cranky, drooling and eating everything in site (blankets, hands, toys, the nipples to the bottles... everything but food).

I am lost! I actually started to cry a little before from the stress of her non stop crying. Thank God that Natalie isn't that way (right now).
Like I said I don't know what to do.

Don't worry, everything will be ok.

If it is teething, I HIGHLY suggest you get ot the nearest store and buy the Baby Orajel Teething Swabs. They come in a little case of 12. They look like little q-tips. They have medication in them. They are the best.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

Hi everyone.....I saw this thread and I am a mom of twin girls born at 31 weeks on June 8th. I was just wondering at what age your multiples started sleeping through the night. Also did one sleep through the night before the other or was it at the same time? Also was it gradual or did they just go from sleeping 5 hours to 8? Just curious....THANKS

Congrats! My girls started sleeping thru the night at 2 months with the occasional bad night... i think the biggest factor was getting them on a routine and not changing it. it wasnt easy during the first 2 months and by the 3rd it got better . I think once we got out of the feed every 3hr schedule that we saw better sleep. The first night of uniterupted sleep kind of just happened. Each girl has a different sleep pattern/behavior ( rebecca is a light sleeper whereas Natalie is a heavy sleeper) and by putting them down for the night/naps/feeding etc.. at the same time made it easier on us.

good luck and it does get better ( and harder in other ways, just wait untill the teething HAHA!:D )

PS: swaddling helped tremendously! too bad they get out of it now

My oh my are you lucky....2 months? I would die for that!! BTW your girls were born on my birthday...funny! They have gotten better recently and the dr. said I have to go by their adjusted age on everything...not sure about that. Were your girls preemies? Mine were 2 months preemie so they are 4 months now, but adjusted to 2 months. They are going consistently 6 hours now and Sophie goes 8 sometimes. We bathe, feed and put them down between 7:30-8:00 and we get up anywhere from 1:30-4:00 to feed and they go back down until about 7:00 and then go back down til 10:00.

I sometimes think I should bathe them and put them down later so they wake and it's morning but then I have heard at their age they need to go down earlier. I am sure it won't be long, and you are right as soon as I get that nailed down it will be time for teeth!!! UGH

First of all Jami congrats on your twins....you are sooo blessed!

Mel my girls are doing much much better now. Technically sleeping through the night and have been for weeks, it's just not "our" night. We put them down early, in bed by six thirty but they sleep until about four to five, sometimes til six thirty so they are on about ten hours at night. I started putting them down earlier because they were going through the witching hour soooooo bad. So I bumped up bedtime and they were crashing so they had to be tired. I hope to move it back someday to like seven thirty but for now it works. It is soooo much better!

Thank you for your warm welcomes.

I have a question on feeding. Addison is eating 3 oz every 3-4 hours and Clark is only eating 1.5-2 oz every 2.5-3 hours. Did your twins eat so differently at first? Also each of them have at least one episode a day where it seems like everything they ate just spews out. I try to hold them upright or put them in the bouncy seat for a half hour or so after they eat to make sure it all stays down. The doc didnt seem concerned. I guess they are just spitty babies.

One thing our little MM forum went to page 14.
bumping it up to page 1.

Jami
Our girls ate the same and at the same time. But now Rebecca isn't eating the same as Natalie.
We are actually having feeding and weight issues with Bec.

Bec just doesn't want to eat. Now Bec is eating at a different schedule than Natalie. If it works then maybe we will see if Naty works on the same schedule.
The girls were on a 2, 3, 3 1/2 and then a 4 hour schedule. The hours went up as they were getting older. Now we threw that schedule out the door and are now trying different things so she eats something.

I only BF for a couple of months and the rest formula (problems)
I think if I was still BFing I don't think I would have a moments peace.

If your little ones aren't eating the same don't worry. If they are gaining weight then let them be. Call your ped if you have any concerns. Both my girls have Acid Reflux and are on meds. Naty has it worse than Bec. Their old pedi thought it was colic. We went to a specialist (gastro) and found out it was AReflux and they were only 2 months. They also were spitting up everything.

Jami
01/15/2007, 01:57 PM
I was just thinking about this thread the other night and almost started a new one.

Puu~My twins are now 2 months old and with a little trial and error of formulas the spitting up has stopped. Addison is a fussy baby. I asked the ped about reflux so he gave me a script for Zantac and it did nothing for her. Maybe I didnt give it a fair enough try though. I only tried giving it to her for a few days. It was very hard to get her to take it. It smells gross so I dont blame her. I wouldnt call Addison's fussy behaviour colic as it has no pattern to it and it can happen at any point in the day. I can also get her to calm down fairly fast.

The one problem that I am dealing with is Addison going to sleep at night. She fights it terribly and refuses to fall asleep on her back. She has to be either on her side or her belly. It varies from night to night. Could my problem be that they dont nap in their crib? They really dont have a set napping schedule as they fall asleep 20-30 minutes after they eat and I just lay them next to me on the couch.

The eating has gotten better and actually Clark is a much better eater than Addison now.

I hope you figure out what is causing Bec to not eat. My 7 y/o is a very picky eater and has always been. She is a petite little thing and still doesnt eat much.

How are all of the other MM doing??

Becky72
01/15/2007, 02:11 PM
Hey guys....glad to see this thread is still out there!! My girls are doing well...over 7 mo old now and I can't believe it! They eat about 30 oz a day and take solids once in the morning, usually I mix fruit/veggies and cereal and they gobble it up. I am going to start feeding them solids in the late afternoon too, my pedi said take it slow...they are sooo conservative. He didn't want me to give them any baby foods until they were 8 mo old. They sleep 12-13 hrs straight at night. They go to bed by 6 and sleep until 6-7 am, it's nice! Sophie does wake up sometimes around 4 but only fusses for about 3-5 min then is back out...unless she rolls on her back then she screams bloody murder (they are tummy sleepers).

Sydney weighs 13 lbs and 8 oz and is 25.5 inches long and Sophie is 13 lbs 14 oz and is 26 inches long. They go for their first developmental check next month, I am curious to see how that goes. Since they were 2 mo premature they will check them til age 2 or 3.

Twins are fun ladies that's for sure...lots of work but lots of fun. We are blessed for sure!! Do most the MM have fraternal twins? I know yours are jami..what about the others?

Jami
01/15/2007, 05:46 PM
Becky~Your girls are so cute! Are they fraternal or identical. They look so much alike. Good luck at their development check! Addison is reaching milestones faster than Clark is but Clark is now bigger than Addison. Addison was more developed than Clark when they were born but my doc says that is not abnormal for girls to develop faster than boys.

Melgrem
01/15/2007, 06:48 PM
Jami ~ I agree I think girls do develop faster than boys. Anna Claire was first to crawl and walk. Michael is not far behind. Just she is so far ahead. She has been walking for aleast 2-1/2 months.

Well we are going to have our 1st birthday tomorrow. I can't belive it. It has been such a wonderful year. I don't know where the time has gone. Ladies enjoy every minute of it. Your 1st birthday's will be here soon. Hope everyone is well.

Oh Mel CONGRATS on their very first bday!! How exciting...I know what ya mean time does fly!! Were they preemies? My girls have to be age adjusted on everything so the doc goes by their adjusted age and is looking for them to do things a 5 mo old would. While I do think they are behind the "typical" 7 monther I think they are ahead of a "typical" 5 monther. I will be interesting to see what they say at their development check.

Jami, they are fraternal but SOOOO many people think they are identical...it's sooo funny because I don't even think they look alike. The drs. even ask us how we tell them apart and I'm thinking "are you kidding me"? I guess as their Mom I see them every single moment of everyday. I too have heard girls develop faster than boys. Sydney is behind Sophie in everything...she was a lb less at birth and being preemies the low birth weight plays a key role in development so I figured she would be behind. It was rough for me the first 3 months....I thought they BOTH had colic, especially Sophie....thank God it got better! It is fun now but I am ready for them to sit up unassisted, and start to crawl (I know people say be careful what you ask for) :p It's so cool to watch them grow. Are you a SAHM?

Becky ~ No We have always been ahead of milstones. Which is great. Your babies are so cute. I don't think they look identical. Don't get me wrong the do look alot a like, but I can see a difference. I get the same thing are they identical? People tell me alot that they look alot alike. I don't see it. I guess it a mommy thing.

Natalie ~ Your girls are precious. I love the pictures in there cute little hats. I could just pinch those fat little cheeks. Its so nice to share and talk to other MOM. Where I live I think I'm the only one that I know close to me.

Have a Great Week everyone :)

:happybday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA CLAIRE AND MICHAEL!!!

Becky~I can tell a difference in your girls also but they do look a lot alike. It looks like they each have their own personality.

Nat~I was told I was having 2 boys up until my 33 week u/s. LOL We had to run out and buy pink for Addison and then we had tons of double boy stuff. Oh well, its fun having one of each.

Question....Addison will sometimes sleep through the night but Clark wont. When I feed Clark I get Addison up to eat right after but she will only eat 2 oz. Some nights I dont get her up but it throws the whole feeding one right after the other schedule off because then Addison will wake up and Clark still has awhile before he is due to eat. What did you guys do in this situation? They are eating 4 oz every 4 hours. Does that sound about right? They have their 2 month check up and shots a week from today (it was suppose to be yesterday but the doc had to reschedule). It seems to me that for their weight they should be eating a little more. When I weighed them Clark weighed just over 11 lbs and Addison just over 10 lbs.

Melgrem
01/16/2007, 03:42 PM
Jami ~ Thanks so much. It has been a fun filled day. We went to the dr. this morning. Michael & Anna Clarie both have ear infections. We go to the ENT Thursday for Michael looks like tubes. :( Anyway. Back to your question. I would always get one baby up when the other got up. If not I felt like I was meeting myself comming back. Even if Addison does not eat much I would still make sure she stayed up as long as Clark ( as long as possible ). We very seldom drank more than 4ozs. When we were going through a growing spert. They would drink 5-6ozs., but we would always go back to 4ozs. Hope this helps. Hope you nights get better.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA CLAIRE AND MICHAEL! i can't believe that we are less than 2 months away from the big one!

Jami- we were faced with the same issue as well. It comes from the fact that Rebecca and Natalie have different appetites. In the begining we fed them the same time (i took one and my wife the other) regardless of whether they finished the bottle or not.(often one would wake up and not the other) 4oz every 4hrs sounds right to me. ( we are 6oz every 4 hours, 4 times a day) Now that the girls are older we are having some eating issues with rebecca. It either stems from teething or that we have forced her to eat on the same schedule as her sister(she eats like a horse:D ). Rebecca hasnt gained any weight in a month so we are adding an addditonal scoop of powder to increase the caloric intake. Also we are spacing out giving the bottle and the solids about an hour later (right before nap) which seems tp be working.

i think your schedule is fine and it is important to keep both on the same schedule if at all possible.

good luck!

Becky- i can tell the differences as well. Its funny how many people ask me if they are identical! hello, one has blue eyes/blond hair and the other hazel/bruntette. :D Even when they were first born i could tell them apart but others couldnt.

Hey Butterfly- I read your question...Our kids are around the same age and 4ozs every 4 hours is not enough for mine. Mine eat every three hours and they eat 5ozs per feeding PLUS a few teaspoons of rice cereal mixed in. I am going to move mine to a 4 hour schedule this upcoming weekend, but I am anticipating them eating 5-6ozs at each feeding then. (Luke gets 2-3 teaspoons of rice at every other feeding and about 3teaspoons at 9PM before bed, Cait only gets 2-3 teaspoons at 9PM right before bed. I just mix it REALLY well in their formula-but I do have to use a #3 Avent nipple in order for them to get the rice out. The Dr gave the go ahead for Luke but I just give Cait a little to keep her full through the night.
ANyway, my point is (lol!) that maybe they need a little more to eat or maybe some rice would hold your one child off until it was time to eat on schedule with the other. I would ask the dr about it.
Hope all is well with you! I don't get on here much-you know how it is!

Hi everyone!! So glad to see you all!
Everyone's little ones are adorable!
Nat, I love the pic in the hats!

I don't have much time to post, but I'll update you all on the girls...
They were 4 months old already on the 11th! Alexis is 15lb 8oz and
Makayla is 13lb 13oz, forget the length but Mak is 1/2 inch longer.
They have been eating 6oz about 4-5 times a day. Our doctor kept
saying only 4oz, but that was definately not working for us, they were
always starving. We just started cereal on Sunday... Makayla did great,
today she wanted nothing to do with it. Lexi had a harder time with it,
and then today she did great... so we'll see how that goes! I want to
start giving them a little bit of juice at the end of the week. I've heard
a lot of people giving 2oz of juice mixed with 2oz of water... I think
we'll try that. They have been sleeping through the night for about
a month now... ahhhh is that nice! :):) LOL

I would love to catch up with everyone, the girls are down for the night
but I have to go see DH before I go to sleep... I won't see him at all tomorrow :(

Take care everyone and I hope to stay in touch!!!

Shannon~I dont think that I could get my twins to eat that much even if I tried. Occasionally Clark will eat 5 oz but not often. I wil talk to the ped on what he says about the feeding issue on Tuesday. If you go by 2.5 oz x their weight my twins aren't eating enough. Yeserday Clark ate 23 oz and if you were going by that formula he should have eaten 27.5 oz. Addison ate 20 oz and should have eaten 25 if you go by that formula. They are gaining weight and not acting overly fussy so I guess I we are doing something right over here.

Ryab~Your girls are so cute! It sounds like things are going well with you!

Butterfly- It is amazing how kids differ! As long as they are gaining weight, then I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe they are just showing their independence, lol!
I can't believe how much my kids eat. Cait doesn't eat as much, but like clockwork they wake at the 3 hour mark to eat and they always eat 4-5 ozs at each feeding. I HAVE to get them on a 4 hour schedule. I think it will free up a lot of time. BUT, I don't want to do this until dh is home over the weekend to help me through the day so we can hold them off for another hour in between feedings.
Anyway, hope you all are well. Never knew how busy I could be with twins. They are a lot of work, lol!

Puubear & PuubearsDH ~ Thanks for the birthday wishes. Yes yours will be here before you know it. They won't be babies anymore. They will be TODDLERS. :crying:

Ryab ~ Your girls are just so precious. They are getting so big.

Jami ~ I agree. I would try to feed them as close to what the ped. wants them to eat. But as long as they are gaining weight and they are not that far off of drinking what they should be. I would not be real concerned.

Well we went to the Dr. Tuesday. And Anna Claire had 2 ear infections and Michael had one. Well this makes #3 for Michael. You know what that means. TUBES. So we went to the ENT yesterday. We are going to get them on the 31st. If it helps I try almost anything. Well anyway our Birthday party is Sunday. So much fun.

Mel I just have to say I absolutely adore that pic of the twins on their birthday...that is sooooo darn cute!!!!

Jami I used to worry about my girls too because they didn't seem to eat enough, but they were still gaining weight..I felt like I was force feeding them their bottles :p One day they just went from 4 oz to 6 oz, skipping 5 oz around 5.5 to 6 months. They will get there I am sure. Now my lil girls eat solids up, I swear they are lil piggies!!!

I got my Britax Boulevard car seats, puubear I think I recall you just ordered yours too, I got mine from the same place as you. DH is getting my car detailed today and hopefully he will install them tomorrow. Have you put yours in yet? If so do you use that tether strap? I had never seenn that until I started reading about it, I just don't know where it will connect to on my car. Just curious...

Have a great weekend

Mel~I love that pic of the twins' 1st b-day. How was the party?

Becky~I love your new pic of the girls. Those hats crack me up! They are too cute. Funny that you mention it because I feel like I am forcing Addison to eat also. I have been giving Clark 5 oz for his daytime feedings. I am curious as to what the ped has to say when we go see him on Tuesday. I have a whole list of questions for him. My MIL is coming with me since DH has to work to help me out. She says that she will cry when they get the shots and that she will be mad at whoever gives them to them for hurting them. I think she is a crazy woman but I need someone to be there with me to help. I hope she is helpful anyway. I think for their 4 month shots I will schedule their appointment for a Friday as DH doesnt work on Fridays and I KNOW that he will be helpful.

How do you guys like your Britax car seats? It will be a few months before I get the bigger car seats but I have been looking into which ones to get.

We love the Boulevard. Natalie falls alseep as soon I start driving.
Rebecca on the other hand doesn't quite know what to think about the seats yet.
Right now we just have the seatbelt holding the seats in but I think I'm going to attach them to the metal bar between. Our reg infant seats, we use the bars and not the seatbelt. I don't know what the name of the bar is. Cars 2002 or 2003+ have it. I don't know if it's the tether or is the tether the strap that attaches to the back of the seat?

Anyways,
I love the way the seats feel!:p

Mel~How was the party?

I think we are going to go with the Britax car seats when the twins graduate up. They are just so expensive though. I will pay anything for their safety so that makes up for it. I think it will take a little convincing to DH though.

Clark and Addison go for their 2 month check up and shots today :crying: I'm so not looking forward to it. I have TONS of questions for the doc, he is probably gonna get tired of me. LOL

Those of you with girls....did you get their ears pierced? I got DDs ears pierced when she was 8 weeks right after her shots and I think I'm going to get Addison's done this weekend.

Puubear, DH just installed the seats on Sunday so I actually haven't used them yet. They are soooo sturdy though, I swear they feel sooo much better and stable then the infant seats...I will admit though I will miss the infant carrier, esp. in the restaurants. DH used the tether strap. The seats are rear facing so the top of the seat is tethered to the base (metal bar) of the front seats...my car didn't have a separate tether anchor in the floor board so he tethered them to the front seat base (hope that makes sense)...they aren't going anywhere for sure. I have a 2002 Toyota Sequoia and I swear these seats barely fit in it...they are just about touching the back of the front seats...

Jami I got my girls ears pierced when they were about 5 months old. Sydney cried much more, however she started crying when the lady was marking her ears simply because I had to hold her head down and she HATED that. She was tired and fussy anyways, Sophie cried for literally 5 seconds, I put a bottle in her mouth and she was asleep within 30 seconds. They have had NO problems since then....it was great...I was a nervous wreck though. ;)

Well take care everyone...

puubear
01/24/2007, 01:26 AM
Becky: I was talking about the medal anchors between the cushions. I have a 2006 highlander and I am also having the problems with the seats barely fitting in. When I spoke to the police station here who helped me put the other seats in when i was pg. He told me that the seat can be an inch from the front seats. These seats are bigger but heavier and seem to be a lot more comfortable.

I was watching a program on tv the other day and they mentioned that identical twins don't always look alike. They can have a slight difference. I know you don't think they are identical but they do look similar. Would ever think of getting a swab test to really find out? I even heard that in some cases boy/girl twins can be identical. Werid huh. just depends.

Jami:
My girls had their ears percied at 6 months but were able to have them done by 2 months after their 1st shot. Bec's ears were fine but Naty's got red and had to be taken out. We just had them done again this month at 10 months.

We got Addison's ears pierced on Friday. They look so cute. I posted some pics on the real life pics section. We got her little pink rhinestone flower earings. She only cried for 20 seconds after she got them done. I think the part she didnt like most was me having to hold her arms down and her head straight. They had two girls do it at once and I liked that much better.

For the past few days we have had issues with Addison being REALLY fussy and I just cant figure it out. I feel so bad for her that her little tummy is hurting but NOTHING seems to help. We went through this a few weeks ago also and we havent changed anything.

Jami ~ I saw the earrings. They are so cute on Addison. I'm glad that she did not cry long. Anna Claire did not either.

Our Birthday Party went great. We got so many clothes. I was so glad we did not get a bunch of toys. :) But they really had a good time. We have had our own little drama over here. I got Michael up out of the bed Wensday morning. And he was swollen and had a rash all over him. Scared me to death. We went to the Dr. and found out that he is allergic to Penicillin. What a way to find out. He is just now getting over it. Now Wensday we are going to get tubes in his ears. Poor little boy. Since his birthday it has been one thing after another. Well, How is everyone else's little one's doing?

Here are a few pictures of Michael all broken out. Excuse the bath water. We have been bathing him in Aveno. So it looks cloudy. http://i7.tinypic.com/48yy2o9.jpg

Mel: That is awful! I think I would have totally freaked out. I'm glad he is doing better. How old were Michael & Anna Claire when they started crawling? First tooth? Are they walking yet? My girls are 8mths tomorrow and rock on their hands & knees but not crawling and no teeth yet.

Jami: The earrings are super cute! I waited until dd was much older...7yrs. I had to wait until I was that old & never had a problem with infections, etc. I waited so long & was old enough I was able to take care of them. DD is now 13 and hasn't had any problems with her ears either. The car seats are expensive but like you, I can spend the $$$ on their safety.

Becky: I haven't switched car seats yet...we don't have a store here that sells them. Where did you find yours? I'm going to have to get them on our next "road trip". You ended up with the Boulevard - do you know what the difference is between those & the decathalons?

For some reason I've been thinking of my pregnancy with them and the rollercoaster of emotions. I just sit & watch these girls in awe, amazed that I was blessed with 2 beautiful babies. I just can't imagine life without them, or just 1. I knew I'd love them but I just didn't realize I would love them this much. I love how different they are, their little personalities are so great. How lucky are we to have multiple babies to love!

The Boulevard has the side impact pillows.

MEl- wow, poor baby! I missed why you had to get him the penicillin. I don't know what would have done if I woke up to that.
One morning I did wake up to find Natalie's whole left side of her face competely swollen and her eye shut.

Natalie ~ First off. I totaly agree. We are the luckest Parents to have multiples. When I was pg I was worried that I would love one baby more than the other. But that is so far from the truth. My babies are totaly different with there personalities and I could not love one more than the other. Any way back to your question. We got our 1st tooth at 6 months for both babies. Michael has 4 top & 3 bottom. Anna Claire has 4 top & 2 bottom. We are just wating on those Molars to start comming out. Anna Claire started to crawl at 6 months. Michael started just before he turned 8 months. I thought he was just going to skip it. But when he finally started that was it. Anna Claire has been walking (running now) since she was 9 1/2 months old. Michael is taking 10 steps or so but not getting up from the middle of the floor. Hope this is what you want. I seems like a chapter long. I know you want your girls to start to get mobile, but once they are look out. They are going to be into everything. So much fun. :)

Puubear ~ This was our 3rd ear infection. We have taken penicillin before but just not as strong as this dose. What make Natalie swell up? I know how scare that is. You feel so helpless no control.

Jami ~ How are Addison's little ears?

Jami
02/01/2007, 10:39 PM
Mel~Poor Michael! I would have freaked out if I saw that when one of the twins woke up!! I'm glad their party went well and you didnt get a bunch of toys! I feel the same way as you. This past x-mas everyone was asking what to get the twins and I said NO clothes or toys since I had a ton. Instead I told people to get diapers, wipes and formula if they wanted to get them something.

Addison's ears are healing well without any problems. They look so cute! One is a tad bit higher than the other but you cant really tell. It is ok with me as it could have been A LOT worse seeing as how she did not like me holding her still at all.

So Addison was back to her fussy/colic ways again so I tried the Zantac for reflux again and I have been giving it to her now for 3 days and she is a totally different baby. Yes, she still does have a few periods a day where she is fussy but I think it is more of her being tired and fighting to go to sleep.

Speaking of sleep, the twins are now sleeping through the night, whoo hoooo....but question....when did you separate the twins and put them in their own cribs. It seems that very soon the co-sleeping is going to have to end because they are almost getting too big to sleep next to each other in the crib. When I had them in cradles I tried to separate them at night and it did not go over well AT ALL!! Maybe now that they are a little older they can tolerate sleeping apart. They dont nap together during the day as they sleep at different times right now. Clark requires a lot less sleep than Addison does.

Melgrem
02/03/2007, 03:35 PM
Jami ~ Our babies started to sleep in there own beds around 3 months. By that time Michael was rolling over on top of Anna Claire. And it would keep them up. So we put them in there own beds in the room together. We did not have a problem with them being seperated. Like you one baby required more sleep than the other and during the day I would let them sleep separate.

Jami
02/04/2007, 05:20 PM
I think at this point they would do fine sleeping apart as they sleep apart during the day. I think I will have to separate them in the next few weeks. They get so big so fast. :(

We put both girls in seperate cribs at about 6 months and it went well! The only issue is that they sometimes wake each other up being in the same room!

it is so amazing that they are soooo different and that over a year ago they were just two little dots on the sonogram! we are blessed to have 2 at once( i cant imagine having 3 or 4  )

DH bought the second crib yesterday (but forgot the mattress  ) so I guess we will put that together this weekend and the separate them. Last night Addison was having a hard time falling asleep and she was keeping Clark awake. They did however sleep from 8-5:30 then had a bottle and went back down and are still sleeping and it is almost 7! Whooo hooooo!! We are making progress!

Jami I separated at like 3 or 4 mo, can't remember exactly...Sophie was becoming violent with her sister....LOL :p Not really violent but she kicked and punched so we decided it was time. My cribs are side by side, right up next to each other but I still have bumpers in so they can't see each other but they sure can hear each other. It was no problem at all separating them...I was a lil sentimental about it though :(

Hey girls!

Jami- good to know yours are sleeping through the night...mine still feed every 3 hours...so no sleep for me..

They are having formula issues....spitting up and are know on enfimal ar and zantac..

I have been putting mine in there cribs at naptime but at night they sleep in the bed with me...dh has moved to the spare room.

Mine are starting to become fun...cooing and smiling and all but still a handfull!

02/06/2007, 03:10 PM
Butterfly-what is your feeding schedule like? I would like to move mine to a four hour schedule, but they only take about 5ozs a feeding and if I cut them back to 5 feedings a day, I don't think they will get enough food. Can you give me an outline of your schedule?

Jami
02/06/2007, 03:58 PM
Sunny~Its nice to see you on! How are the boys doing? Addison is on Zantac also. It seems to help a bit but we still have feeding issues occasionally. She will suck, scream, suck, scream and takes forever to feed her when she does that. She does it once a day or so. It gets quite stressful when she does that.

Shannon~I posted this on the other thread also. My twins eat 4 oz every 4 hours. They sleep through the night so that only equals out to only 16 oz a day! I feel that that isnt enough but they are gaining weight and are healthy so I try not to worry about it. I was sitting here thinking at their last feeding that tomorrow I should try to feed them 5 oz and see how that works. I know that Clark will eat 5 oz a few times but I dont know if he will do it all the time. Addison has issues finishing 4 oz sometimes so I dont know how well it will go over with her.

As for bed time, they go down at 8. Tonight they will be due to eat at 9:20 so around 7:45 I will top them off and put them to bed.

How much are your twins sleeping? Addison sleeps MOST of the day and Clark only takes 1-2 1 hour naps and little cat naps here and there. Addison will literally sleep 16-18 hours a day.

But we have been so sick with one thing or another. So tomorrow is the day. I think he is going to be so handsome after we get it done. ( well even more :) ) Miss Priss does not need a cut just yet. Zoe~Welcome! We aren't the chattiest bunch here but we try.

Mel~How fun that Michael needs his hair cut. Awwww!! Good luck! Let us know how it goes. I remember with DD#1 she didn't need her hair cut until she was about 3and that was really only to give her bangs and to even her hair out. I tried keeping her hair long but she HATED me putting it up to keep it out of her face so I finally got tired of it and now we keep her hair at shoulder length. I told her that she can grow her hair out when she will be willing to put it up to keep it out of her face. She tells me that pony tails hurt her hair.

Puu and DH~I also love your sigs. How do you do them? Do you have a program that you use? I want to get a program to edit my pics and make calloges and stuff but I dont know which program to get. Any ideas?

Cait just won't eat! She is three months old and I don't get it. We went from a 3 hour schedule to a four thinking she just needed spaced out-that didn't work. SO we went to a three and a half schedule and that is not working. She used to take 4.5 ozs on average and now we are lucky if she will eat 3ozs. I don't get it. You would think she would eat at least what she ate on the three hour schedule on the new threee and a half schedule. What the heck is going on? She used to ave about 25ozs in a day and now we are lucky if we get 20. What the heck is going on? I wrote about this the other day but now I am really getting worried!

hello
I can't believe that they will be 1 in 3 weeks.
We are planning on having family and close friends. We weren't planning on a huge party but more and more people are being added to the list. :p

Thanks about my siggie. I have friends on another site that does it for me but DH is learning to do it also. He has a specific type of software. I can ask him later.

I was worried about my Rebecca. She use to eat like a horse and all of a sudden she stopped eating. We were lucky to get her to eat 10-12oz a day!
We thought she was allergic to milk and through a blood test we found out that she wasn't.
She fought and fought us and little by little she started to eat again.

People and including drs told me that she will eat when she is hungry but I think it's easier said than done espeically being the parent watching your child not wanting to eat.
Rebecca at 9-10 months only weighed 15lbs.

Dr put her on rice and an extra scoop of formula in each bottle. And also we were to add 1tsp of oil in her food for extra intake of calories.

She just stopped eating that her stomach shrank and filled up fast.
Now she is eating 4 6-7oz bottles aday and soilds to boot.

I have talked to soo many other ladies and I hear it's normal.
I think if your little one is eating something then don't worry to much. He is getting some type of food. Just keep in touch with your dr.

Jami: I have the Bob Revolution Dualie. It is a bit pricey - but I saved 20% for a Twins disc. I wish it were more economical but it was worth every single penny. I LOVE IT!! It rolls so nicely, better than both of my Peg Peregos. I can move it with 1 hand, it is the ONLY one I travel with. The down side is it doesn't fold as compactly as my others, but for the easy way it moves I deal with it.

I haven't got new carseats yet - we don't have a baby specialty store here (babies r us) and our Target/Walmart don't carry them.

Jami, I need to check the brand of my jogging stroller, got it as a gift and love it!!! As for my reg stroller I have the peg perego twin avia...side by side. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stroller. I wasnt a fan of the front/back stroller because the front seat didn't fully recline so sitting them in there as infants was a prob when they coudn't sit up (if I recall). So anyways mine is super light, folds up nice and is sooo quicky and easy to get out of the car, etc. I love it!!

Nat, I got my boulevards at buybuybaby, super nice! No shipping and no tax...much cheaper than the store. I saved like $80. Wait til you get them...they are HUGE!! But I feel like my girls are sooo much safer than the infant ones!!

Sunny: Great to see you back on here. How is everything going? If you get a chance I would love to see a pic of the boys... the one by your name is so small it's hard to see them. How much are they weighing these days?

Hi Nat and Jami, I hope to catch up with you guys soon!!!

My girls are doing very well! Eating cereal and veggies right now, with 4 or 5 6oz bottles a day. Starting to roll over and scoot, and spin around in circles! We will be having their Baptism in a few weeks.

Nat~I agree why didnt the pg go this fast. I remember chatting with you when I was first pg with the twins thinking that I wish I was a far along as you. LOL

Ryab~Nice to hear from you! Your girls are too stinkin cute! I only have time to post because I work from home and can get on whenever I want when the twins are sleeping which is when I work.

I found Soothie nipples for the skinny bottles and tried them instead of the Dr. B nipples and they LOVE them! They use the soothie pacis as well. I am feeding the twins 4 oz every 3 hours and that seems to be going well I just dont get much done. Like I get much done anyway, LOL

Hi everyone,

The party planning has been hectic but comming along. we decided to have it at a park nearby ( 60 people invited:eek:). Also we are just going to keep it simple as well (food, chit chat, cake and presents..yadda yadda...). I am not used to planning parties so it is a little overwhelming for me.

mel ,becky and nchil- i also remember seeing you both on the site, especially mel as you had them a few months before us and then nchil and becky you had them about 2 months after us. i so remember reading up on your updates mel as we wanted to see how the heck you were handling the double challenge!

i cant believe that they are turning 1 on march 3rd. It only seems yesterday that me and DW(puubear) were each holding a screaming baby at 3am thinking I DONT WANT TWINS and that i am not cut out for this!!!!!! well we survived and are looking towards a new chapter in the girls lives (independence and attitudes  )......

jami and ryab- how are things at your end?

Morning girls! The twins slept from 8-6 and are now back down. I am so happy. Lately they have been waking up at 4 and then sleeping until 7. Its nice to get a full night sleep without having to wake up and feed babies.

We are going to go buy an exersaucer today to try to see if that will keep Addison entertained for more than 2 minutes. I am having trouble getting anything done because she wants to have our attention every second that she is awake. Yesterday it drove me nuts because she wouldnt play on her own and she would scream if I wasnt near her. It was a hard day yesterday.

I hope everyone is well.

Hi ladies...

PUUBEAR, I can't believe the first bday is coming soo soon. Funny thing is their bday is my bday too!! How exciting for you. I have begun to think about their first bday and what I want to do. We are in the process of building a new house and we SHOULD be in it by May. The girls first bday is June 8th and I want to have a big party at the new house, but I know I am going to be stressed and overwhelmed with moving, etc. I want to have a cookout, for friends and family. I just can't wait!!! Oh by the way I was thinking about one of those bike trailers, I have looked at them online...so you like it? What brand did you get. Do the girls wear helmets while in that? I wasn't sure.

Nat, I can't believe you don't LOVE your peg. I think their is something wrong with yours, mine turns on a dime. I esp. like it because it's sooo light, easy to get in and out of my Sequoia. I absolutely love that DQ pic!!! Dh and I are silent partners in a franchise too. It's called Silver Mine subs, it's mostly outwest, we opened the first one in Florida. The "silent" part is the best, LOL as we don't have all those hassles you have...GOD I don't envy you for that and I still cannot get over how you manage that, TWINS, and other children at home...you are amazing woman!! Oh by the way any teeth yet and are they crawling yet? My girls are finally sitting up, Sydney has one tooth, another one coming and Sophie has two. Sophie has been on all fours and rocking for 3 months now....I swear I don't think she's ever gonna take off!!

Jami, your schedule sounds soooo much like my girls did. I remember when they started waking up at 4 and went back down til like 7 or 8. Sydney didn't do that very long til she just started sleeping all the way through, Sophie however took a little longer. Sophie still wakes some nights crying, she goes right back to sleep sometimes, then others I have to get up and put her paci in, if she finds it herself she will pop it in her mouth and she is fine, it's just when she can't find it that she cries longer. My girls sleep from 6-6, sometimes 6:30 if I'm lucky. You are on the home stretch now :)

Becky- The bike stroller is an avent which is made by raleigh. we got it used (very litely used) at work for 100$(it retails for new for 299$ ). It comes with the safety flag, 2-5 pt harnesses and the top is easily removable (velcro). There are various brands out there and some even convert into a jogging stroller (the arm turns around or something). Since we bought new bikes as well we decided on a used one. good luck finding one, we love it although with the weather wev'e only used it once.

I'm not comfortable on a bike so I def wouldnt feel comfy with the twins behind me. I still havent found a jogging stroller but I did order a Combi Savvy LX stroller today. I saw the Combi Savvy Sport in BRU and I loved how it handled and how easy it was to fold and it is light. The sport doesnt have drink holders for me and DH and the front tray doesnt come off so I ordered the LX. Hopefully it will get here soon. The Britax car seats that I ordered are on backorder and I should be getting it before March 9th. I saw them at BRU and I am very happy that I chose the Blvd one. It looks so safe and comfy.

Just bumping us up a bit.

PuDH~Thanks for answering my question on the other thread. I was thinking about you and your DW yesterday as I was trying to force feed Addison.

Becky~I saw your little play area that you posted in the August Mommies thread and I LOVE it. You did a great job with it.

I ordered a Combi stroller and got it yesterday. I like it so far. I am going to lunch with a friend today and will use it so I will know more later. I found a jogging stroller that has a hook up for your MP3 player and it has speakers so you and the babies can listen to music while you are jogging. Its $180 at BRU and I think that is the one that I'm going to get. Now I just need warm weather and SUN! Puu and DH send some sun to the midwest, please!!!

Puu and DH~How was the party? I'm sure the girls had a blast.

So I switched Addison's formula to see if that was the reason for her not eating and she has been eating better since but now Clark wont eat  Why oh why do they have to be so different?

Thanks for asking! Their birthday went well! They tore up their cake lol
When DH gets the pictures off the camera tomorrow I will post a few.

EVen if they are twins, two different babies and different tastes!;)
BOth girls had to be on different formulas and REbecca hated hers and refused to eat for about 6 months. We were having trouble, big trouble with her weight!
Pretty much at 1 month old NAtalie and REbecca were on different formulas. We thought Natalie was allergic to milk and turned out she wasn't, it was acid reflux. At 2 or 3 months old Rebecca started to have blood in her stool which is a good incation that she is allergic to milk. Rebecca who LOVED Enfamil Lipil had to be switched to Soy. So REbecca was on Goodstart soy and Natalie was on Enfamil Lipil.

Finally around 10 months I wanted to get a blood test done to show me what Bec is allergic to. Plus all these baby foods with milk in them.
Her blood test came back neg! SHe wasn't allergic to anything including milk!
Now they are both on 1 type of formula.
Now we are introducting them to whole vitm D milk. Much MUch cheaper!

Good luck on the formulas!!!

Puu ~ I can't wait to see some pictures. I'm glad the party went well.

Jami ~ I don't have much advice on formula. I was lucky to b/f the 1st year. Good Luck. Sounds like puu has been there.

Jami- if you recall I had the same problem with Cait-she didn't want to eat. We found a few things: she is allergic to milk (as is Luke) and had to be switched to Nutramigen. Then we discovered she didn't like concentrate or ready made-it HAS to be powder. We also cleaned her nose out with saline drops b/c she was so stuffed up it made it hard to eat. And, we finally put her back on Zantac. I had taken her off of it b/c Luke has reflux and she acts NOTHING like hime, but the dr finally convinced me that it was SILENT reflux. So, after all of those changes, they both are now good eaters.
I was allergic to milk as a kids so they are both at higher risk and that is why they both are probably allergic. MANY kids that are allergic to milk are also sensitive to Soy and therefore must be put on Nutramigen or Allimentum or a hypoallegenic formula. Also, Luke became allergic around 2-3 months and Cait about 3 months. At least this is when they started showing signs. And remember that by 6 months some kids out grow the allergy and can switch back to a milk formula. Other is can take a year to two to outgrow it. Anyway, just wanted to throw these ideas out there. I know it can be frustrating. How many ozs are they taking a day now? I know the ped told you to feed more often b/c they weren't getting anouth-are they now?

Mel~I'm not having so much fun with this. Especially with whatever Addison is going through right now. Dealing with 2 screaming babies is def not my idea of a good time especially when I am dealing with it most of the time as my DH works about 50 hours a week. :crying:

Jami
03/11/2007, 07:09 PM
Tylenol is my best friend these days. LOL So I wouldnt call it progress yet but Addison just ate 4 oz without screaming and when she was done she just played with the nipple. I was sitting there feeding her praying that it would be uneventful. I guess she decided that she had stressed me out enough today? LOL

Jami- Did you take the kids to the dr? What is happening with the feeding issues?
Well, Caitlyn does indeed have two teeth poking through. I thought Luke would be first, but not so. She is fussy, but it isn't all that bad. She is drooling a lot, but I guess that is to be expected. I have teethers, but they don't know enought ot keep them in their mouth. I will try the frozen wash cloth next.
Anyway, hope all is well with everyone!

Hi guys! Sorry I have been a little MIA. I have been on and off but I havent had much time to post. First off Addison is doing much better and eating and not screaming. Secondly, Clark has an ear infection and the Amoxicillin has given him a MAJOR case of the runs and yesterday I was changing him and he farted and out shot poop everywhere. It got all over the changing table and IN the laundry basket that is next to the changing table. Yum! I went and bought some of the Isomil DF which is suppose to help bind him up a bit but it hasnt done a thing for him yet but he hasnt been on it for 24 hours yet. Clark's ear still has the ear infection smell and is still a little red and this is the 6th day of the meds. He still isnt eating great so I wonder if the meds arent working like they are suppose to. They have their 4 month well baby checks a week from Wed. The doc rescheduled it from last Friday because he wanted to check Clark's ears once he was off the meds so we wouldnt have to make an extra visit which I thought was nice. They also have an appointment on the 30th to get their 4 month shots. We have to get their shots at a different office because our health care goup has an immunization clinic and that is all they do. They are about a half a month behind in getting the shots because they were booked until the 30th.

I hope everyone is doing well.

I gatta go change Clark's poopy diaper AGAIN. :crying:

Hi Jami,

glad to hear addison is doing better with the eating! sorry to hear about clark. I had the same experience with the poop geyser! i opened the diaper and ppffffftttt!!!!!:shit: sprayed all over the changing table pad and on the dresser. It was funny that the poo stain on the changing table looked like a funnel. Come to think of it that has been the only poo accident since they were born. Not bad for 12 + months and 2 babies (i know, knock on wood:rolleyes: ) Ok sorry about the poo talk! you brought back memories!:)

Melgrem

Jami~Glad your family is kind of getting back to normal. I have not had the poop fly anywhere yet. Yes, we have gotten it everywhere but not actually flying out fo them no. Hopfully never. :p We just got an ok with Anna Claire's ears no more infection. We have been fighting with this from her birthday. It took us 4 different antibotics. Hopfully when you go for there 4 month check up Clark's ears will be better.

Puu~Your girls are just the cutest with there earrings. Are they walking yet?

Jami
03/20/2007, 03:58 PM
Mel~Did Anna Claire show symptoms that she still had an ear infection. Clark is on his 6th day of Amox with 4 days left and he is still not eating well and is extremely fussy at times. His ear also is a little red and it has the ear infection smell still.

Jami ~ The only sign that Anna Claire gave me was that when I would clean her ears with a q-tip she would kind of favor them. But not real bad. I was actually suprised that she had infections. If you don't think Clark is getting better I would call the Dr's office and try to talk to a nurse. They may want to see him again. Let me know how it goes.

Jami- so glad to know things are getting back to normal-if there is such a thing with multiples, lol! I soo wish you had a twins or multiples group near you. It has been a God sent to me. If there is ever anything I can ask them for you, let me know. There are over 200 moms in that club and that is all to multiples, so they know A LOT!
How is everyone else? Busy I take it since this thread seems slow lately. My kids are well. They are eating well and are eating rice twice a day. I though life would get easier when we wne to solids, but no it got harder, lol! Well, the laptop just flashed that I am about to loose power. Gotta run!

Mel~You are lucky that she didnt give you any clues. When I try to clean Clark's ears he screams bloody murder. I did call the peds office yesterday but of course he wasnt in so she said to call back today. The doc is the best doc in town but with that comes that fact that he is so busy. The nurse did say that it can take the full 10 days to see improvement. He was eating a little better last night though. This is exhausting me though because Clark hasnt slept through the night since all this started. Last night I was up with him every three hours. :crying:

Shannon~Thats great that your twins are doing well. I did find there was a multiples clube about an hour away which actually might be worth checking in to. We will see now that the weather is getting nicer.

Puu~How cute that they will be walking soon. I love seeing babies when they first learn to walk, its so stinking cute!

We've been kinda quiet lately. How is everyone doing?

The twins finally have their 4 month check up tomorrow. It kept getting pushed back. Clark is still not eating but that is the norm these days. Yesterday we started oatmeal which was interesting. Addison wasn't too sure on the spoon eating but Clark didnt seem to mind it. The doc told us twice a day but when I tried this morning either one of them seemed interested. I guess it takes a few tries.

Hi all...yes Jami it will take a bit before they get the hang of it and REALLY want it. Clark has a mind of his own doesn't he? LOL....let us know how the 4 mo check up goes.

My girls are doing very well, at 9 mo they weighed 16 lbs 2 oz each and were 26.5 inches long. They are eating well and Sophie is crawling, she is climbing up everything, she is a monkey I swear. Sydney is behind her and has always been since birth...she was only 3 lbs so doc says low birth weight coupled with 2 mo prematurity is the reason so I am not too worried. They are really doing fabulous, I can't believe I am starting to plan their one year bday party.

Mel, Puu? Any tips on the party?

Take care ladies...

Hi all
How is everyone? Great here.
Caitlyn rolled over for the first time last week and Luke followed in her footsteps today. It was so cute! I think my road on easy street with twins is coming to an end soon! (I say easy street meaning in terms of mobility, lol!)
They got the go ahead for solids the other day from the ped. No oatmeal though until 6 months. I guess it can be hard on the tummy. So, we started with carrots yesterday. Caitlyn doesn't really open her mouth, so I don't know if she is even getting much. Luke opens real wide and when he realized it wasn't his normal rice after about 3 bites he started to wimper and then cry, lol! But, I calmed him down and he now loves them! So, we will stay on this for a week and then I think we will move on to sweet potatos or squash. Ped said start with orange veggies...No peas or green beans until at least 6 months-?
Anyway, life is pretty busy. I started a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant business and I love it! It is a lot of fun and it is nce to have some extra cash. What I really like is when they are napping I can "work" by making calls and when they are up I can devote all of my time to them. Working out great!
That is about it from here. Hope all is well!

Hi girls and PuuDH! Back from the docs. Addison SCREAMED, not cried, SCREAMED through the whole exam. I explained that she does this for 1-2 hours a few times a week and he basically said that some babies do that and fortunately they do grow out of it but nothing can be done. Anyway, they are both healthy and developmentally on track in between their real age and adjusted age. Clark weighs 14 lbs. 14 oz which is 10th percentile for weight and is 26 inches and is in the 90th percentile for height. Addison weighs 14 lbs 10 oz and is in the 50-75th percentile for weight and is 24 1/2 inches long which is in the 50-75th percentile for height. We need to go back in a month for a weight check for Clark since he isnt gaining like he should due to not eating like he should.

Hello all!!

We are doing great. Just keeping busy. Kind of hard to keep up with 2 little ones "RUNNING" everywhere. This is so much fun. We go back to the dr in a few weeks. I can't wait to see how much we have grown. Now that we are finally well.

Jami ~ Glad to hear that both babies are healtly. I hate to hear that about Clark. I know that's not the answer you wanted to hear about his crying. Something would be better than nothing at this point. Hopfully he will out grow it soon. Did she say when mabey?

Shannon ~ I remember those days of just rolling over. Just wait you days are coming. :) Wait untill you have to baby proof everything. :D

Becky ~ Glad your girls are doing great. They are gowing up so fast. About the party I say keep it small b/c it is going to grow if you want it to or not. But hay they only turn "1" once. We did keep it simple. And when the babies got tired they went to sleep even though it was the end of the party. Good Luck. It's going to be so much fun X2. Enjoy. Please keep us updated. And ideas yet?

Bump bump....

Clark has decided that he doesnt want to sleep and is waking up 3-4 times a night. Thursday night I told DH that he had baby duty and he was getting up with him, well everytime Clark woke up and DH went to tend to him I was wide awake. So there is no use in having him help at night. :crying:

I finally got my jogging stroller and havent been able to use it as it has been raining and chilly out. For the next 8 days it is suppose to be in the 30s-40s. I was hoping for nicer weather as my older 2 are on spring break this week and are stuck indoors.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Okay...what is your feeding schedule?
I have been feeding mine 5 times a day (6am, 9:30, 1, 5, and 9pm) They get bottles plus rice at 9:30, veggie at 1pm, and veggie at 5pm. They average about 6-7ozs per feeding. (Although Cait doesn't eat all that well at 9:30am...she may only have 4-5ozs)
Anyway, this morning we forgot to set the alarm and slept through the 6am feeding. They woke us at 7am, so I thought this would be a great time to drop a feeding and go to 4 feedings per day. Not happening. THey are all screwed up and are miserable. Now, I am just getting over a cold so maybe they are catching something, but ....
When can I go to a 4 feeding per day schedule? ALso, I have heard it is best not to wake them and let them wake on their own during the day. They seem to wake at 7pm on their own. But, if I do that then they will only get 4 feedings in a day which is not enough. We are on a 3 1/2 - 4 hour schedule in between feedings.
Am I missing something here?

Oh,. and they are 5 months tomorrow
