Anyone join CURVES?
I just joined and I have my first workout on Friday. I am so excited and I think I might actually be able to lose this weight, I haven't really been exercising much lately and haven't been eating well either. I am hoping to make some progress though.:) Anyone else?

I personally havent joined but I know peole who have. I dont want to scare you but nobody I know has had anything good to say about curves. From what I was told it is not long enough of a workout to get you going. The results were not good at all. I hope it turns out to be different for you. Keep us posted.

Bobbi(BZMAINE) has been going 6 days a week since December and has lost 100lbs. She's also been dieting pretty hardcore...maybe ask her about it.

We have a new Curves in my area and I am very tempted to join as well. I would love to read up on how you like it/dislike it when you begin your workouts. I like it b/c i could actually go work out on my lunch break if i wanted too. But i also have not heard very promising things about this company. The hours are not early enough, and they do not offer daycare which is a big turnoff for me...but i am love the idea of a good exercise in 30 min. please, keep us posted.

I went for a few weeks and have to say, I did see results...11 pounds in 2 weeks. That was going 3 times a week, cutting my portions in half and increasing my water intake. That was all I did. However, a lot of women at my CURVES were there for social hour and would be there "working-out" when I got there and still "working-out" when I left. I hated having to listen to their gossip, especially if it was about someone I knew. I pushed my work-outs and went as hard as I could. I never left without sweating. It felt great. The equipment works only as good as you work out. If you put in half-ass effort, you will see no results. If you work it good, you will see results like I did.
Find a chatty-gossip free center and you might enjoy it.

The Curves that I joined opens up at 5:30am. I have been going early before DS leaves for school, so about 6:30am. I take him to school at 7:30 and then I go to class. We are getting ready to move again so I'll be going to work-outs in the afternoon with my 2 sisters. I feel a lot better since I joined, I also have stairs in my home so I go up and down them about a zillion times a day! Sometimes its hard for me to make the 3 times a week but I do my best.

Hey ladies - I just joined on Friday and have my first workout tomorrow evening. I have to say, the ladies all looked a little too chatty for me, and I am not like that when I work out, so that has me worried, but I really want to get into this. I have a friend who works at a Curves and she says that you get into it what you get out of it, but said it can really work. I need to do something by way of strength training and Curves seems like a great fit, I can get in and out in 30 minutes and not spend too much more time away from my kid, who is in daycare all day while I am at work. I guess I will find out how it goes!

Hey ladies!
I am a fan of Curves..... Yes it can seem like a little dumbed down work out... BUT Curves is what you put into it... If you do exercise moves on the squares or run fast in place... and then push hard on the equiptment it works... You get out of it what you put into it... Yes some of the women gossip and talk talk talk... I go at 545am everyday so the same women are in there and it is nice... We are military and those same women have been soo valuable to me when I need help with a florist or a baker or plumber... I call it command central LOL!!
I also do the circut more then 30 minutes too. Most days I go around at least 3 times and sometimes 4... but never ever less then 2....
Good luck to all of you who have joined and are working out... Make sure you stretch out after too... It adds on to your workout... It is great...

Lisa - Hey! I actually went 3 times last week. I really liked it, not sure why I liked it so much, most likely because of the 30 minutes it takes to get in and out. I have to say, if I get my butt on the eliptical in between, I think it will be good for me. Like I said, I need some sort of toning exercises and I think it will help me with that. Overall, I am pleased and glad I did it. Also, i think that I will stick to it because it doesn't take so long to do, and that is such a big issue for me.
What I don't like about it is that the woman all chat a lot and I am not like that when working out. However, I found out that those ladies are usually there in the morning and the ones there after work are much quieter!
Are you thinking of joining?

so good to hear you had a good experience so far! i am thinking about joining. i do the treadmill at home 3-4 times a week, but i need something more than that to tone up and what not. my only concern is when i will be able to go. dh works long hours and i'm with ds all day, so i'm thinking early morning possibly.

I am thinking of joining also, but unsure of a couple things do they have free weights and do you have a time limit on how long you can be there. I need to tone up more so know than losing. I am doing good on my pills and losing more in inches than weight know and just looking to a nice place to join
